Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAli and his family run this authentic Moroccon hotel very well. It overlooks the Erg Chebbi sand dunes which Ali can take you out to stay in overnight or for just a trip.. His son Hassan can take you out on quad bikes. He will also guide you on your own dirtbikes through the dunes and if things get too hard for you then he will ride your bike back while you ride the quad. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Evening food was great too. Highly recommend

The place is really beautiful. Owners are very kind and helpful. We took a trip on camels at sunset that the owner organized for us and it was great. The breakfast was delicious and big. We were during winter and it was warm in the room thanks to air condition. Also owner can organize 4x4 trip and has quad for rent.

United KingdomWe didn't like the Quads but Ali really can't help this unless he moves his camp further in to the dunes.
Ali is the perfect host and will meet your every needs. My daughter and I went on an overnight Camel ride and stay in a Berber tent which was was about 1 hrs ride in to the dunes. This was great apart from the quad bikes which I feel ruin the peace and tranquility of the dunes. Apart from this aspect our stay was perfect.

United KingdomI liked everything.
This is a wonderful place to stay, very quiet and family-run. You're much closer to the dunes than you are in Merzouga, and it's not too difficult to get into town if you want to, although the village has a few useful shops and places to eat. Ali was friendly and very helpful and yet also gave me plenty of space. He helped me organise transport to Ouzina for a very fair price and even gave me a lift into town once. This is the kind of place that all independent travellers should be supporting - it's affordable, offers all you need, and is run by local people.

ThailandThere is no rating high enough that can truly summarize how we felt during the couple of days we spent with Ali at his place. We met an extraordinary man (and his son); incredibly kind and "HUMAN" who built a jewel of a place, just a stone away from an amazing desert. La Vallee des Dunes is a beautiful Riad; our room was very nice, clean and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was delicious... This already deserved a 10/10! But additionally, Ali organized for us a Camel Sunrise Ride and a 2-hour Quad experience in the desert: This was EXTRAORDINARY and WONDERFUL! He also took us on a 4-hour 4x4 drive in the desert he loves so much...This was AMAZING! This brings the score to 20 out of 10!! The whole experience at the Vallee des Dunes will stay with us forever, also thanks to a beautiful human being! THANK YOU ALI... We truly hope that our paths will cross again.

GermanyIt was all perfect:)
This place is the best for anyone seeking Sahara nature. Such a peaceful place to stay and relax in best company of Ali and Assou, only 5 minute walk into the dunes. It couldn't have been any better. The rooms were really beautiful in the nice house, the food was the best I've had in the whole of marocco, it's awesome to watch stars - and lots of shooting stars - right from the hotel; all tours can be booked straight there - quad tours or Camel rides through the desert and service (like special wishes for watermelon <3) is the best as there is. Totally recommended to go there! Thanks so much Ali and Assou for the wonderful stay with you, for all the talks, games and laughter we shared - for all the great memories. Hope to see you soon again! Mechthild & Jarina

FranceThe shower wasn't great. Sometimes lukewarm, sometimes with weak flow.
We were there for birding in the desert, and the location could barely be better. Very nice, simple food (main course: tagine). We booked a second night while there.
