Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBeautiful riad, the room was spacious and the owners are so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was always super tasty, they host cooking classes there too. Lovely terrace on the roof and ideal location!

Czech RepublicThe Riad was very nice and mrs. Fatima along with her husband and the rest of the staff were very nice! We had a bit of a problem with the sink getting clogged, but the staff quickly fixed it. The breakfast was delicious and very cozy as there weren't many other visitors at riad at the time of our stay. The riad is close to most of the main tourist attractions in Marrakech and the medina is only about 15 minutes away by foot. Over all it is a very nice place to stay.

GermanyWe loved our stay here, everyone was extremely helpful, welcoming and the Riad is pretty nice! We had dinner at the Riad twice, best food of our holiday so we really recommend trying it!! As vegan/vegetarians we appreciated a lot the effort of cooking something with lots of flavour for us ♡ They helped us choosing excursions and what to visit during our stay and we were not disappointed!

United StatesI was unaware of what a riad was prior to booking, which is a stay in a residence, which means your essentially sharing a space with a family. There is not much privacy and you essentially hear every conversation taking place in the residence. The family tended to stay up late having conversation into early hours of the morning. So, although everyone should experience what is like in a riad, it's not for everyone. I also felt cramped in my room. The location was also a little too far from the historic square.
Friendly riad owners. Helpful, too.

United KingdomWe had the twin room on the ground floor. I don't know what all the other rooms a like so can't really comment. It is one room that is literally subdivided with 2 single beds, a shower, sink and toilet. For privacy, there is only a curtain so you can literally hear and smell everything that is going on when the other person is on the loo. Lucky I have noise cancelling headphones! I suppose for £35/night for 2 people it is relatively good value so this is more of a warning rather than a complaint.
The family who run the Riad are very nice. Jaffer helped set me up with a SIM card upon arrival and was always communicative via whatsapp. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated. We also did the cooking course that is held at the Riad twice a day. It is run well and my daughter and I enjoyed the 3 hour session.

CanadaWe stayed in 3 rooms and the drains in all showers were not draining.
The people are really nice. We received welcome tea and they let us keep our lugagge before check in and after check out. Location is in quieter area near Jewish souks. They also helped arrange for our transfer from bus station. Walkable distance to souks and Jem El Fnaa square. Breakfast was plentiful. There was hot water and shampoo and body wash were provided.

SpainNothing to complain about. Everything was fine.
Charming Riad in the heart of the Marrakesh medina, next to the Bahia Palace. From the moment you walk through the door, the hosts make you feel at home, always with a smile and ready to help with whatever you need. The breakfasts are typical Moroccan, very good and complete. In addition, we received very good recommendations for eating and visiting in the surrounding area, as well as tips to keep in mind when shopping in traditional markets. I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomRoom was small, bathroom not isolated from bedroom so shower steam and toilet smells mix into bedroom. No access to rooftop (unless participating in cooking class). Location quite far from main attractions in Marrakech. Host was a bit distant compared to other riads.
Riad was clean, breakfast was okay. Host promptly prepared our room on arrival and allowed us in early.

United KingdomReally enjoyed my stay at the Riad Sultan. Yasser and his family were warm and friendly hosts. The riad serves breakfast from 9am on the rooftop terrace. If you’ve got an early start for an excursion, they will kindly pack your food up to take with you. Yasser also organised my transfers to and from the airport (€15 each way), which meant I didn’t have to worry about getting ripped off by an unscrupulous taxi driver! The riad is located a 15/20 minute walk from the main square within Medina, the old city. It’s not far from the action. I highly recommend this place.

United KingdomEven though the owners were great people and it was very cheap I wouldn’t come back simply because of how uncomfortable it was. - The room was extremely small, I had never seen such a small room before (it was so small that I literally couldn’t open my suitcase because there wasn’t enough space on the floor). I never have issues with the size of the room (I’m not very fussy) but in this case it was a bit too much even for me, one person had to stay on the bed for the other to be able to pass through, very claustrophobic. - The bathroom was extremely uncomfortable too. There is just a niche in the corner of the room without a door. The sink, toilet and a shower head are all in the same place (so when u shower the water splashes on everything). The drainage system was working so poorly that after showering for 5 minutes everything was floating (imagine the toilet brush floating in the same water as you’re showering), so basically one person can take a shower and the other has to wait for the water to go down (which is extremely slow, you literally have to wait an hour or two to be able to go there again because the drainage system simply does not work!). - Third thing that was the cherry on top was the noise. The doors and the window to the room are wooden and do not provide any soundproofing at all and since it’s a riad it’s all very compact, the rooms are very close to each other and very close to the main entrance doors too so you can hear every single noise in your room. The biggest issue for me was the owner’s child, because he was very loud throughout the day and we could hear the screaming all the time (sometimes even late in the evening at 11pm or later and then again early in the morning so we couldn’t get a proper sleep at all). Overall, I don’t want to bad-mouth this place because of how kind the owners are but I have to warn other travelers because at the end of the day these things can really ruin your stay.
+ The staff is great, very kind and helpful people + It has a great location (just 10min walk to Bahia Palace) + Very cheap compared to other hotels in Marrakesh

SpainSome things to bare in mind is that although it's located quite close to the centre, to actually get to the Riad we had to go through a series of small alleyways which did not show up clearly on Google maps and we wished there were more signs. Also, the room we had was very small, but it was clean, and it was an ensuite.
The staff was extremely hospitable and attentive. We had to leave very early in the morning to catch our flight, and they made sure we had breakfast to take with us to the airport. They also helped us book a transfer to the airport. In general, the Riad was clean and nice and we would stay again in the future.
