Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ColombiaI stayed at this hostel for about 3 weeks and saw several irregularities regarding the male staff - I saw how some staff jumped on free beds for a rest and didn't change it afterwards. Also the staff behaved a bit weird and constantly hit on foreign girls ... sketchy staff. There was an old Japanese man (72 y/o) traveling around Morocco and I saw some unacceptable treatment towards him from the staff (elderly people should be treated with respect).

BrazilWell, when we reserved, there was an option for 4 people in a room, but there wasn't that room. The staff contacted me after we made the reservation, but it was still an upsetting thing, at the end we slept the four of us in three beds.
The staff and the location were good, we asked for a msemen and they made it even if it wasn't the time to do it, so it was great!

GermanyIn winter the rooms are very very cold as there's no heating anywhere in the hostel The showers aren't the best the drain kina has a smell and sometimes the water pressure suddenly drops to almost 0 while you're showering The wi fi worked very well the first time I was here but the second time it was almost unusable kicking out losing connection constantly every 2-3 min and they couldn't fix it They do have a kitchen but it's only for use of the staff making breakfast or lunch not for guests to cook
I stayed here 2 times and it's a good place to stay The staff was always nice The location is good market and lots of street restaurants around There always some people around as it's kind of a big hostel Good value for money Rooms have lockers but you need to bring your own lock

AustraliaDoors didn't lock! Main doors are shut at one am and not open again until 8am so when I had day trips in the early morning I had to wake up the receptionist who was asleep in the lobby, which was super weird! They don't let you pay by card or want you to wire money to a staff member on PayPal and charge you 5% more. I gave one staff member 600 dirhams was meant to get 130 change he initially only gave me 30 back...which I had to flag. Secondly I needed a SIM card he gave me a SIM card which he offered for 5 euro so I get 5 gb on it. It didn't work when testing it turned out he had that number saved in his phone so had used it with others presumably and when it wouldn't work he said it's because I need to pay another 5€ rip off and shady I had to kick up a fuss to get my money back. Rooms don't lock so your stuff is at risk. Felt this one staff member was passive aggressive because I was Asian and a female. Check in took so long and when we asked for food recommendations we were directed to a tourist trap where the food was 4x what other places charge! Shady place, bathroom area not clean they turn light switches off in all the common areas so dangerous to walk around. No heating and only one teeny light in the room. So many people smoking and drinking weed! So common kitchen area they lock it at night. Slightly shady and unsafe for women travelling alone. A lot of the clientele we're older men who'd get drunk and ask dumb questions. WiFi don't go to the rooms. Can get loud until 1am. I wanted to leave but I'd already paid, no breakfast for several days or dinner advertised they offer to book a cab for 150 dirhams when you can get a cab for 100 easily and you can also get a simcard for 10 euros for 10gb. No tours around the city they offer some tours but I didn't want to risk booking. You get no recipit when you book.
Not a bad location, each bed has a plug, a few other solo travellers to socialise, small lockers but passable, warm blankets and comfy bed, rooftop was nice. Close to fruit seller a few decent cheap resteraunts, mostly safe

PortugalStaff is very rude. Rooms are not feeling safe because of doors. Place is loud to sleep because they keep the music on until midnight. Toilets and bathrooms are not clean because everything is shared for all facility. I stayed in another hostel also during my trip at it was much better. Beds are making so much noise.
Only advantage is location

SpainThere is no ATM, or AC,as advertised. The pool had no water in it. The bathrooms could be cleaner and our bedroom had a smashed window.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was good - close to sights but not overly busy and noisy outside the hostel.

United StatesOne of the staff members had a terrible attitude. He was rude, and even verbally aggressive at one point. They say they have air conditioning but they don’t seem to want to let anyone use it. After I reported this to booking.com, the same staff member actually came upstairs and confronted me about it in a very hostile way. Also, the male staff members had a bad habit of knocking but immediately entering the female dorm without waiting for a response that it was OK to enter, and also opening the windows to the female dorm at random times without asking. All issues were handled by the manager Abdul after he returned to the property from dealing with a family emergency. He resolved all concerns and was extremely apologetic for the inappropriate behaviour of his staff. Wifi isn’t fast or reliable enough for work purposes.
Abdul, the manager, was very kind and helpful. Price was very affordable. They serve coffee, tea, and meals for a reasonable fee, all of which were excellent.

Czech RepublicThis hostel is NOT your typical fun-friendly hostel, it has strict rules about closing the door after 1 AM, there's an ok terrace but you can't make much noise either, our room only had the AC on at night and it leaked water....so I would not recommend it. The staff is also not used to having foreigners and there can be a big cultural clash. For the value, I'm sure there are better hostels.

IndonesiaThere was a lot I liked about the hostel but I had an absolutely terrible night's sleep because the aircon wasn't working. If I had been told this when I had arrived, I would have found a different place to stay but only realising when I went to bed was a pretty crap way to find out. 10 women in a small room + Marrakech heat + no windows/airflow, it wasn't a fun night. I would stay again because ofall the positive things I mentioned, but I'd definitely check the air con was working first.
The place itself was really lovely. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The location was good for me and the hostel itself was really nice and a brilliant price.

MaltaThe room was in no way secure when you're inside. You knock twice on the door and it automatically opens. Something that can easily be worked on but for sure no importance was given to this
The staff was nice, and the hostel had a nice rooftop were you can hang out and chat with other travellers. Breakfast was good too, and the room seemed clean.
