Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI really loved everything however If you have a gluten intolerance, breakfast can be a bit limited. Had fried eggs and yoghurt, hence i brough my own GF wraps. About a 10 minute walk away is a Carrefour with a whole Gluten Free selection. The first bottle of water was complimentary, however additional ones you had to pay for. They were cheaper to buy outside the Riad.
We loved the traditional architecture. It was great listening to the birds in the courtyard. The whole place was very atmospheric. The Riad also has a roof terrace from which we enjoyed beautiful sunsets! The staff were extremely helpful. In the height of Summer the pool would be great to cool down in. The location was ideal, it is in a very quiet area. It only took 10 minutes to walk to the souks. Plus there is a great Artisan Centre just around the corner.

SlovakiaThe only drawback was that the Riads were built so that people would not be warm and escape the hot rays. Which made us cold. Otherwise everything great
Very pleasant atmosphere in the beautiful Riad where you felt like in paradise. Incredibly nice staff. I recommend 10/10

IrelandCan't fault anything.
It's the second time I have been. Exactly the same. So close to everything. The staff are amazing. Will help you out with everything and anything. Breakfast is wonderful. It's all so fresh. Omar and Radar are excellent. Can't fault the place. Love the upstairs area, so quiet if you just want to chill. WiFi is everwhere. When it's cool they light a fire in the rooms downstairs. Thanks again will be back . James

United KingdomNothing at all!
We absolutely loved the Riad Dar El Assafir. It is a beautiful, calm oasis in the centre of Marrakesh and had everything we needed - our room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and an outside seating area. The breakfast was generous and typically Moroccan. Omar made us feel at home right from the start of our visit and he could not have been more helpful. It was lovely to stay in a family-run riad and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakesh.

United KingdomWith so much space, a working-height table or desk would have helped.
An oasis of calm and beauty in a tacky, polluted city. Staff gave personal service and attention. The name means 'House of birds'.

United StatesHuge, comfortable room with a gorgeous sitting area. The patio and pool were lovely places to sit. Best of all was the host, Omar, who went out of his way to help take care of us when I got sick. Late at night, he found someone to drive to one of the two pharmacies open late to get me an antibiotic. And then he made me tea.

GermanyThat we had to leave after 8 days ...
We stayed 8 days with 2 kids in this wounderful Riad which is itself worth a trip to Marrakesh. The little pool surrounded by plants and trees, the birds, the little pavillion and many places to sit and relax in a calm and cozy atmosphare. The roof terrace and the cozy fireplace room provide further comfort and distraction from the hectic city outside. We had as well dinner in the Riad which I can highly reconnend- best Tanjine we had in Marrakesh! But this Riad would only be half so nice if there were not Omar, Reda, his Mum and Jibril who are a benchmark in hospitality and your local family, helping you out where ever possible. Overall a great experience and we hope to be back one day!

United StatesWe loved the property. No complaints.
The Riad is beautiful. The garde/pool area is very peaceful and a good escape from the busy Medina. It is walking distance to the Medina. It was quiet and we felt safe. The staff was very helpful, they even provided an earlier breakfast at 6am for us before departure. The pool was clean. The bathroom is private and the toilet/shower is separated so when you shower you do not wet everything (like in some other traditional Riads).

United KingdomThe breakfast was not great, for the price the owner needs to improve this. There are many riads in the city to choose from, most in my experience provide a higher quality breakfast.
Great location, on the edge of the Madina. There is parking right outside, which is unusual. I was able to park my motorcycle in the garage. The staff were friendly and attentive.

SpainAs the rooms are quite dark, aesthetically, I would have liked lighter furniture & decoration which would have made the rooms feel a lot bigger. But this is a personal preference :)
The staff went above & beyond to make sure I was fully looked after & felt safe in the wake of the devastating earthquake (the city is very, very safe & all debris etc has been tidied.) The location of the Riad is wonderful - 10mins maximum to get to the Medina/restaurants via foot - and everything was clean, comfortable & I was provided with all of the basic amenities. As a solo, female traveller, I couldn't have felt more looked after & appreciated all of the advice, guidance, tips & the sense of family that was often shared with me. Special shout out to Omar for being the most wonderful human being I've interacted with in hospitality in a long time :) Highly recommend to all!

United Arab EmiratesOmar is wonderfully welcoming: as are all the staff. The Riad is beautifully maintained with original features up to 400 years old. Located in the heart of the old area, and despite being so close to centre, it is remarkably tranquil. The birds song from the garden dining space, the gentle waves of the the pool and the adorably friendly house cat ensure a peaceful start to the day; with visits to the Old Market, City centre and Koutoubia Mosque within easy walking distance.

The service was super good! Thank you to Omar and his colleague! 💪. They are very flexible and help you where needed. The riad is located 15 to 20minutes walk from Marrakesh square. It is a very quiet street.
