Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomThis is lovely traditional riad with authentic decor. Amazing views from rooftop. The staff were just awesome and couldn’t do enough for us. Walid was great, text us before arrival to let him know when we were close and he met us and walked us to the property. Gave us maps and advice on where to go. First morning we had an early start and walid organised an early breakfast so we didn’t miss out! Even printed out boarding passes for us. Just went above and beyond. He also arrange our taxi back to airport, on the morning Yasin walked us to pick up and made sure we left safely. Would defo book again

United KingdomGreat riad in Marrakech! Thanks to Walid for giving us an early breakfast when we had an early tour that day. We also loved being greeted with lovely mint tea. The view from our large private balcony was amazing. Thanks!

SwitzerlandThis is a Riad with much potential, in need of some love and renovation. The filters used are a bit dramatic. In real life the Riad is somewhat neglected. The personnel is super polite and helpful though, which makes up for that. (thank you Waleed!) The neighborhood is 15 minutes from the first markets and is an authentic neighborhood where locals live. It is safe, but kind of far to walk to and from every day. We liked the contrast of the neighborhood to the touristic regions, but it is probably not for everyone. I would probably go again, because I love the traditional style of it and the colors, but don’t expect too many luxuries.

ItalyThe pool was empty and broken, which had a weird effect when entering the building, since we were waiting for a total different vibe. Though, when we left, there were men working to fix it. The location was just a bit out of the very center, but like 10min walk, so no big deal.
The staff was very friendly, welcomed us with a traditional tea and, in every circumstances, let us feel like at home. We stayed in a very big and comfortable apartment, with a nice terrace, 2 bathrooms and 5 beds (jeah!). The breakfast was good

United KingdomReally enjoyed staying at the Riad. Arranged the shuttle which went smoothly. We were met by the Gate to the Old town so no issues finding the Riad. The Riad was lovely we had a deluxe room which was spacious and clean. Waleed looked after us with mint tea on arrival and lovely breakfasts. He gave us lots of tips.

United KingdomAs above-towels, breakfast choice
Near to Bab Aylan gate which made collecting for trips easy. Cars cannot get to property-5-7 min walk, (as with most Riads) Interesting 15-20 min walk to main square. Lovely rooftop (new cushions needed on sun lounger) Lovely calm, cool interior. Beautiful decor. (New towels needed, ripped, holes, threadbare & too small) Cupboard door fixing, bracket needed to hang shower head. Tap drips) Fruit should be served at breakfast, there are so many local traders to purchase it from. Too much carbohydrates at breakfast. Considering all the local oranges/nectarines available and grown locally, breakfast juice was horrible, weak long life stuff Best thing about this property was the two front of house hosts. They were informative, friendly, kind and chatty. They got different families talking and relaxing and created a great atmosphere.

United KingdomThe roof terrace and shaded courtyard were great places to relax, just lacked the option to dine or get a drink which was a shame.
Situated away from the main tourist attractions which has its pros and cons but provided a calm retreat at the end of the day. Staff, Yascine in particular was very attentive and always on hand to provide assistance.

Amazing and beautiful Riad that is in a great location. Only a 15min stroll from the main square, nice and quiet away from the tourist areas but still surrounded by great street food. Staff were fantastic, especially Wallid - his customer service was 5 stars.

United StatesWe had an excellent stay at Abelia Riad. We loved everything about the riad, including the location, which is a little outside of the more touristy parts of the Medina but only a short walk away from the main attractions. The riad is super charming and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Walid, a most gracious and attentive host who went above and beyond in his duties, treating us more like old friends than paying guests. Thank you, Walid!

United KingdomWe liked everything about the property.
The property is beautiful, tranquil and perfectly situated in the heart of the Medina. Yassin, our host, was incredibly kind and considerate and really looked after us - which we really did appreciate, considering our party was all female (mum and two young daughters). The rooms were gorgeous and it was lovely being able to sit on the rooftop and enjoy to view whilst enjoying mint tea.

United KingdomDepending on who else is at the property it can get noisy, however Yassin always made sure people were quiet enough during the night and early morning. The excursions on offer from the Riad are slightly on the expensive side, you may save money booking online or at a local travel agent. However the excursion we did was booked promptly by Yassin and he made sure we safely got to the pick up point!
This charming little Riad was the perfect place to catch some winter sun for five nights. Firstly the staff are exceptional, especially the host Yassin. Our stay was made so much more special by the care and effort Yassin puts into hosting you. We were welcomed with traditional tea and he would check with us every day if we were comfortable or needed anything else. Yassin is an absolute credit to this Riad and I would say his hospitality alone puts this Riad ahead of the rest! Location wise the Riad is about 15/20 minutes on foot from the main square, in a more local neighbourhood. This means that the streets around it are not as populated with tourists as the main souks and markets, this gives a wonderful opportunity to really expedience Marrakech authenticity, we loved seeing the people live their lives and regularly bought drinks and snacks from their shops and stalls. Even walking through the local area alone or later at night we never felt safe and never got hassled, the people in this area are lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated with a modern bathroom, I slept on the sofabed and was still very comfortable, and it was a dream waking up and seeing that beautiful courtyard out of the window. We spent a long time relaxing in both the courtyard and on the roof terrace, both of which are fabulous spaces. The breakfast always offered a delicious selection of fresh local pastries, bread, and fresh tea and coffee. We were a big fans of the ‘Baghrir’ pancakes! If I am ever to return to Marrakech then Yassin and the team at Abelia would be my first choice!

United KingdomThis is by far the best Riad in Marrakesh. My daughter and 3 of her friends stayed there for three nights to celebrate her 19th birthday. Upon their arrival from Manchester, they were truly welcomed and looked after. The girls felt that they were staying with family. The staff couldn’t do enough for them. Yacine in particular was wonderful, he arranged for a surprise cake on the day of the birthday on the rooftop of the Riad which was magical. Yacine also helped organising trips to the desert and gave recommendations for things to do and wonderful places eat. Thank you for giving the girls an amazing holiday and looking after them. The Riad is beautifully decorated and the rooms are big and clean and the food served there is delicious. It is within walking distance from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks. When we travel to beautiful Marrakech we will only stay there. Thank you for your hospitality
