Wonderful stay in the Riad Kafila, very clean, perfect location, magnificent breakfast on the terrace with a view on the Atlantic Ocean. Also our room had a view on the Atlantic Ocean, it was incredible! The staff is very helpful, however, make sure to take quick showers if you are more than 2 people in the room. The hot water boiler does not heat a lot of water, might be tricky, but not impossible:)

I wish it had been better explained how to get to the riad on the arrival.

Riad Kafila is located in Medina and though it was hard to find it at first, Abdil came out to meet us just at the Bab Sbaa entrance and took us to the riad helping out with the luggage. Our room with the ocean view was wonderful as well as the whole authentic interior of the riad, to say nothing of the rooftop with the dining room and the open terrace. Breakfasts were so delicious, nutritious, beautifully served, finger-licking good!!! 100 points for breakfasts, the views, service and hospitality! We didn't want to leave! We're happy to have booked Riad Kafila! We do recommend it to the visitors of Essaouira! Many thanks to Abdil and the staff!

Very good location with excellent views from both the room and the restaurant upstairs. The staff was really kind and welcoming. In the very heart of the city, the location provides easy access to the city and the colourful vendors on the streets. Very good breakfast.

Riad accommodation by its very nature is a little compact, but Kafila was comfortable none the less.

The Riad is ideally located with views of the sea from the terrace and right in the heart of the Medina. The staff were friendly and helpful. The walk to the Riad through the Medina was all part of the experience!

Very friendly host. Very tastefully decorated, excellent location, amazing sea view and excellent breakfast served with very kind attention in beautiful ceramic dishes in the top room. We loved the place and would definitely come back. The bedroom was a tiny bit small but the view, facilities and warm welcome made it a very pleasant stay all the same. Our room had nice sea view as well which was a bonus.

Lovely riad in a quiet part of the medina but very central. Fabulous sea views from the roof top terrace which had a large indoor area with sofas as well as an open area. Great breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. We’d love to visit again.

You can hear people in the hallway through the bedroom shutters, but it’s expected in a classic Riad. We didn’t mind too much.

Lovely Riad with gorgeous views of the sea from the upstairs breakfast room and terrace. Red-one and Abrahime were very kind, helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was filling and very tasty! We would stay here again if visiting Essaouira.

Very friendly welcome and we were looked after throughout. Bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good - lots of variety and more than we could possibly eat. The location is quiet for the medina as it’s right on the walls though, like all small riads, you can hear other people inside the house.so they can hear you too!

Breakfast was good with variety each day. It’s a charming Riad with quirky furnishings and a nice enclosed rooftop lounge with outside terrace

The room smelt damp, it’s a small room so it’s understandable but the smell from the shower drain was really bad. Glad we only had one night. Can’t give it a 9 or 10 as we’ve given that score to places we’ve had better rooms and stays but a solid 8.

I absolutely loved my stay at this riad. I was in room No. 2 which had a fantastic view of the ocean. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed – they greeted me with Moroccan mint tea and cookies and took me up to the rooftop, which overlooks the sea. My room was beautifully decorated, and while I could hear the wind, it actually added to the charm. One of the highlights was when I mentioned wanting to explore. A staff member kindly offered to show me around the nearby fish market, guiding me through hidden alleyways I might’ve missed or assumed were off-limits. This thoughtful gesture gave me a deeper, more authentic experience that I’m so grateful for. I truly can’t recommend this place highly enough. The location made it easy to get around – Google Maps took me right back to the riad each time, and there are amazing restaurants, unique shops, and lively markets nearby. The only thing I missed in the room was a luggage rack to place my suitcase on. Space is a bit tight in this room and that would help. I hope to make it back here again one day.
