Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe loved staying at this property with its well planned design and ambiance well suited for spending a night in the desert. We had a big room with a balcony with a view of the swimming pool and the dunes. The staff was very helpful, the bed was comfortable, the shower worked just fine and we enjoyed the pre fixe menu for dinner. All in all, a very nice stay.

CanadaThere as a weird and loud sound just outside of our room that kept us awake all night. It sounded like a donkey-call and our room was situated very close to perhaps the staff quarters in the back? Our room was on the second level at the far-end of the building with our balcony overlooking the pool.
Location, Breakfast, dinner, pool and room size and cleanliness were excellent.

NetherlandsThere was no choice for dinner in the restaurant in de evening. They served a more european-style dinner. Not bad, but having a choice what to eat has our preference.
Riad Madu is one of the most beautiful places ive ever stayed in. There interieur is so beautiful en stylish. The view @ Sahara desert at swimmingpool is great. We also slept a night at Madu premium camp in the desert. Mohamed is the best guide. He deserves a 10! A great experience i would definitely recommend!

CanadaI would have liked one or 2 options for dinner.
Really nice riad! We had the chance to be upgraded, and the room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool and with a view on the sand dunes. The staff was very nice and the pool was a big plus considering the hot weather in Merzouga. The dîner served was the same for everyone and was not exceptional but fine. Overall, I strongly recommend this riad.

IrelandNothing. This is not a criticism as the food was delicious and good value, but the portions could be considered small for some people . I was full after it, but my husband ( who has quite a big appetite ) wasn't. Again, it is not criticism as it was lovely but just something to note for certain travellers.
Riad Madu was definitely an oasis in the desert. The Raid itself is absolutely beautiful, especially at night. From we arrived the staff were so attentive. They upgraded our room free of charge, and it was stunning. The food was excellent, very tasty . The pool area was great with spectacular views . We also took the tour into the desert that they organised, and it was magnificent i would highly recommend it . Wonderful place, wonderful people, and a wonderful experience .10/10

PolandWe had a great stay at Riad Madu. The facility was really stylish, clean and the customer service was excellent. Another advantage is extra services offered and organized by Riad - such as buggy etc. It was very convenient and the quality of services was good . It is also possible to move from Riad to Madu desert camp. We divided our stay into two parts - stay in Riad and at the desert camp and it was a great idea.

United StatesI love Riad Madu. I live in Fes and have stayed here twice in the past two and a half years. I hope to go again whenever I take visitors to the desert. It's a perfect place to stay before heading into a tent camp.

View quiet, peaceful hotel with amazing views. The suite was lovely and a very, very, very large bed! It was wonderful to have a pool to relax by after time in the desert heat. The hotel arranged the dune buggies for us which was great fun!

United KingdomNice riad almost at the edge of the dunes, with good views from some of the rooms and the pool. Modern vibe but with a traditional feel, and the pool itself is a delight and very welcome after a hot day in the Sahara sand! Breakfast is fine if not wonderful, but the dinner is at best adequate, with one waiter telling us we were being served beef and the waiter collecting our plate saying it was lamb. Hmm. The hotelier on the front desk is very good however, and extremely helpful, booking us an absolutely fabulous trip into the desert by 4WD with a Berber guide called Youssef who was totally brilliant.

United KingdomAC was underpowered in our room, was still very warm. There is no bar, which you'd hope for at this price point. No menus either for soft drinks/coffee, but they will serve them when asked.
Great location, with view of the Saraha dunes. Really nice pool area. Room was huge, and had a fridge too. Had an enormous bed, must have been emperor sized. Very clean overall, nicely decorated hotel. Shaded car parking.

The Riad is in the perfect location and offers great options to experience the desert. Rooms are tastefully decorated, large and I recommend one with balcony over pool, it has a spectacular desert view. Dinner was delicious and breakfast good. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

United StatesDinner is not included and you have no choice in what you are going to eat. Also AC very under powered for the “family room”. It barely helped, crazy hot. Kids slept on the floor because it was the coolest spot.
