Nothing about the Riad to dislike!

We're recently back from an awesome stay at Dar Sholmes. In all the places I've stayed I've never received such an awesome and warm welcome as the one we got from Ismail Hidden down a (safe) back street 15 minutes from the main square, the room was modern and clean, breakfast was nice and the hot tub on the rooftop was massively welcomed after a day of walking. All staff were fantastic, but a special shout out to Salah and Ismail for how helpful and friendly they both were throughout our stay. It may be only classified as a 3 star hotel but relative to what we paid (really important to remember when scoring!!) it is easily a 10/10 score. Would more than happily stay again if we go back to Marrakesh.

The room was a good size - clean and comfortable. It was nice that they pre-heated the room before we arrived as it was cold outside and would have been cold in the room. The shower was warm and the bed comfy. The styling was really nice as well with a big comfy sofa in the reception area. Staff were brilliant and helpful.

The property was in a great location only 20 mins walk from the main square and close to the airport.

Ibrahiem and Saleh (the staff) were both very friendly and helpful. They gave us information whenever we asked to make our trip comfortable.

The shower runs out of hot water pretty fast and it takes a long time for it to become hot, so be warned. Towels are due for a replacement as well.

The staff was incredibly friendly, shout out to Ismael, he arranged a private transfer from the airport for us, and upon arrival we received some tea while we waited for our room to be ready. He also gave us a map of Marrakech and showed us where all the important sights are located and how to get their from the hotel. The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for us, not too close to all the noise of the medina but still in perfect walking distance.

What made the difference was the people working in the hotel. They were all very willing to assist you and solve any small issues may occur.

I found the breakfast to be quite average. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of variety.

The staff was extremely supportive and always ready to help, which made my stay very comfortable. The room was spacious and well-maintained, providing ample space to relax. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable and fast, which was a big plus for me.

Had to pay in cash as their card machine was broken for three days. Room one on the ground floor can be noisy due to people arriving and departing early morning and evening. Breakfast was not great although always served with a smile! Internet access could be intermittent.

Staff were all amazing and the environment of the hotel was really good. Room was well presented and comfortable.

Everything was great especially the staff's hospitality. It is a very authentic riad at a good walking location from south side of the Medina. Calm and quiet place to stay.

The 4 stars are misleading. Rooms are simple with thin doors. Taxi cannot drive there, 5 Min walk needed but all area is safe. Breakfast could have more diversity, lovely prepared but in way of take it or leave it.

We were not expecting to pay 10 euros per person for use of the jacuzzi which we expected to be included in the price. It would have been helpful to be able to pay with credit card for the tax and meals but only cash was acceptable (Dirhams or Euros)

The Riad was located in a quiet area so it was really relaxing and peaceful after visiting the hubbub of the souks. Ishmail and Salah were excellent hosts and looked after us like family! The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meals were excellent quality!

One time when many people were showering at the same time electricity went out, but this issue was solved not so long after. Also breakfast could be a little more diversified, but it was nice overall.

The place was very clean and the rooms and common areas were extremely pleasant. The staff was very nice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.

They serve typical Moroccan breakfast every day which helped us to feel like locals. However after few days we felt that the selection could have been wider.

The hosts were extremely welcoming, attentive and friendly. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by the hosts who prepared for us juice and cookies as well as gave us the city map and told us a few interesting things about the city and Morocco.

The water pressure in shower is not good, sometimes the hot water was stopping and the water is not getting warm enough. It would be great if they fix the problem.

It is a really nice Riad, comfortable and clean. Very ideal place to stay in Marrakesh. The staff friendly and helpful, the location is very good, good breakfast, nice atmosphere and terrace, highly recommended

They don’t serve alcohol (similar to a lot of riads in the Medina) but that was not an issue for us as they let us buy our own bottle and drink on the rooftop 🙂

The location in the Medina is great (walking distance to most of the main sightseeing points) ; the staff is very kind and helpful, always available and keen to make our stay comfortable ; breakfast is simple but good (bread, fresh fruits, juice, ham, butter, honey, yogurt, pancakes and cakes) ; the rooftop and jacuzzi are really nice!
