The building overall isn't as nicely maintained like seen in the pictures here, regarsing Poor facilities 1. Poor lighting in the dorm rooms downstairs, making it inconvenient to do anything. The room isn't cleaned properly because it's always dark even during the day so cleaning personnle can't see well. 2. Power outlets were not conveniently placed. Not everyone can charge their phone if needed at the same time. 3. 2 showers and 1 toilet located all in the same room with curtains blinding shower rooms and a half swing door covering the toilet. Alll these with 1 entrance, and that's where you lock it during use and can only be used 1 at a time. 4. The room was really cold, and the door was left opened, probably because it'd be too stuffy if closed (small room with 8 double-decker beds).

The historique family building in morroccan style, located in the medina, great rooftop although the view is blocked from the rooftop, nice host and breakfast.

The manager repeatedly refused to help me call the tourist police or Emergency line for real police for Marrikesh. I asked 3 times. He insisted he "did not have the number" More than one person had things missing the days I was there. I paid for the 4 person room then when I repaid cash he moved me to an 8 person room. He insisted repeatedly nothing had ever been stolen there before. He lied over and over and gaslit repeatedly. Electronics and more valued $200 or so including sunglasses, phone equipment, battery pack and perhaps more went missing. I returned with the police he was not expecting this as he thought I was going to ATM only to let him swindle me some more to an open lock on the bag dead center of the lobby in front of all the cameras. (I put two locks on it before I left for the ATM and police to file a report. The first two officers said they would get the camera footage when they saw the broken lock on the bag I left in the middle of the lobby and I do not know if the hostel turned it over to the police Additional officials of higher ranking came and it felt threatening. It was disappointing the hostel owne r and manager were not taken out in handcuffs.

Leaving and returning with the police to confront the thieves running the place. The officer who warned me to trust no one when he saw me walking to the place earlier. The neighbors who also sent subtle messages He paid a hefty price Not to be so trusting when they insist you cancel on booking site and give them cash for more days Calling the Embassy to let them know everything Warning others of what to be aware of before they arrive at this place My reply to the last officer you asked if I wanted to stay an additional night "House of Thieves??? Seriously?"

Centrally located only 7 minutes from the big square, well equipped and nice breakfast on the roof top. The owner is super friendly and helpful and played the banjo for us. He has 2 cute tortoises that you can feed and pet on the terrasse. Rooms are basic but clean and the riad looks comfy. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to stay here if you are looking for a budget friendly accommodation!

When you enter the door there's a bit of cat smell When i checked out And wanted to leave my bag for a few hours He said i need to pay an extra day If i want to leave the bags after checkout There were no privacy screens on the bed

My two-day stay at Riad Sijan felt like a home away from home. I have no comment, the owner of the facility constantly attacked me, he was very persistent, even though I made it clear to him several times that I did not like such an approach and that it was not professional,he even entered my bedroom 3 times unannounced when I was alone and tried to sexually harass me. In the room I found a mouse walking around and a huge cockroach. Nothing was so clean. The horror!

I hated that they put wrong address on booking, I was walking in the circles, fall into street hustle (it was midnight btw!) and then when I reached hostel, no one was opening the doors, no one was replying nor taking calls. The doors were “open” by foreigners who stayed there, cuz they went to buy water, but as I had morrocan hussler next to me, they shut the doors in front of my face…. When they returned, I took the opportunity to get in. When finally staff came, instead of “sorry” he just said “its Marrakesh”. What a hospitality, indeed. The day after I left, staff finally said sorry and gave me more passtries - probably he thought I will make me less angry. When I was leaving, he even hugged me, which is even more weird, knowing the morrocan culture - its not okay to do it with local woman, guess that he is just using the situation that I am foreign woman, and he thought he can 🥲 . It does not matter that the price of this place is low, it does not allow them to be like this!
