Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI didn’t like sharing a toilet, but that’s expected at a hostel. Also, it took a long time for the owner to answer the door when I was wearing a very heavy backpack, but when he got there he was very nice.
This is a very cute place to stay. The room was cozy, a bit small but perfect for a solo traveler. The roof was beautiful at sunset.

NetherlandsServices being available doesn't mean they are free,, i was shocked when i learned that i had to pay for a towel to take a shower. Appart from this, everything was pleasant.
The Terrace Was my favourite part ! especially for long night talks or for smoking, the bedsheets were clean and comfy. Youness was Helpful and responsive to any question.

SpainThe street where it is located is not very clean, although this is not the fault of the hostel.
Everything was very clean, the staff was very friendly and explained everything to us. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The terrace has a very nice view.

GermanyCheck-in at 14:00 is too late, I suggest it should be at 11:00 like check-out.
The location of "The Tangier Kasbah Hostel" is central in the old city of Tangier near the Port, Marina and many museums such as Kasbah Museum, the Ibn Battuta Temple & Exhibition space of this Moroccan Traveller. The owner was friendly and welcoming, from the top of the hostel you can have a wonderful view of the old & new city. When the weather is clear, one can see the Spanish Coast.

We enjoyed our stay. Really comfortable room and the hostel is nicely decorated. Location is great and the helpful hostel instructions made it easy to find. Martin was friendly and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant.

GermanyThe mattresses were quite hard. I don't mind them to be hard but a little more comfort would work wonders.
Very central and easy to find. The terrace really invites to meet other hostel visitors and Youness really is the heart of it all. He's very frie dly and forthcoming, funny and most of all helpful. He will recommend good places to visit, takes his time to get to know you and simply a kindhearted soul. Martin who also works there might seem a little serious but it very reliable and helpful. The two seem like the embodiment of Ying and Yang.

AustraliaExtremely minor but it would have been nice to have a little shelf next to the beds in the dorm to store items without having to get them from the under bed storage.
A lovely and welcoming little hostel! It's right in the middle of the Medina (be warned - you'll be climbing a lot of hills and stairs) but that also means the rooftop is charming and with beautiful views. The wifi is excellent, perfect for remote working, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is quite small and the rooftop is social, so we got to know almost everyone who stayed during our 4 days there which was a bonus.

New ZealandThe only thing is the noise from the street/neighbouring properties - this could be resolved if there is a fan in the room so that you can close the window at night when it is hot. Otherwise, just accept that you need to put headphones in to sleep.
fantastic location and the most amazing views from the terrace. The decor is nice and there are some facilities for cooking. Youniss and the team were super welcoming and do a great job running the place. would 100% recommend staying here if you’re wanting to explore Tangier.

Germany- the place is not adapted for the common living of many people. Toilets are combined with shower, always wet floor, lack of hangers, with all the drawbacks you lack comfort - lack of space to sit. There are 2 small terraces. but they are very dirty - not clean, lack of service, the manager was always absent - full trash bin - very loud Azan at 4AM during 15-20 minutes, and you can't close windows bcs it's hot - lack of light - the kitchen is small and dirty, frigo had water inside - in general, it's like you are staying with a friend in a dorm, which is designed for 1 person living. - the hostel is difficult to be found. Adding some more indicators outside would be very helpful.
+ the playful cat, but it can be too intrusive + authentic design of the place, roof top view is great + location

United StatesThe beds are a bit firm for my liking but not so uncomfortable that you cannot still get a good nights sleep.
The location is perfect for exploring the old city and Medina, and the terrace has some lovely views of the port and sea. Also, cannot say enough good things about Hisham- he was super nice and friendly and helped us arrange everything that we needed in Tangier and also outside of it. He even made us tea both nights! We actually booked with him on our return to Tangier because he made our stay that much better. Thanks Hisham!
