Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaThe location is good and the view from the terrace is nice but that's about it. The rooms are dark, the shower in the room was absolutely disgusting, and I could not use it. No soap nor toilet paper. The toilets are in the rooms, you will constantly wake up from all the people using it. The breakfast was small, sad and very, very late. They don't care about the hour they are supposed to serve it at. You can choose way better hostels in Tangier

MoroccoI got bedbugs, the place is filthy, very little security - my room door didn't even close, and the main entrance is always open. I woke up in the middle of the night to one of my roommates freaking out because he was covered in blood. There were bedbugs everywhere. When I told the front desk that there were bedbugs, the guy on duty didn't seem to care. Then the next day, I checked out early because I was not about to sleep there another night, and I found another person in the bed that I told them had bedbugs in it. It's not their fault that bedbugs came into the place, but it IS their fault that they didn't care to clean up after them once they were reported. No precautions were followed to remove the things, they just did the typical weak cleanup and invited another person into a bed they knew was infested. Turns out there were also some in my bed too - I'm on antibiotics now because I had such a severe reaction to the bites.
Great location, right in the medina. Most of the staff is friendly, I really liked Mustapha.

United KingdomThe dorm was unsuitable (not worth the money you pay) I would not put a dog in there. Room looked like it had never been cleaned. Someone in one of there dorms got bit allover by bed bugs. The dorm door never had a lock on it so anyone could walk in,which they did in the middle of the night. As for getting any sleep, not a chance with the hostel being next to a mosque . I would not stay there again, stay clear of the place.
Breakfast was fine.

PortugalWhen we arrived to the hostel the owner/manager welcomed us with "You're lucky, you booked the best Riad in Tangier", 5 minutes later we were calling him as the shower didnt seem to work (as shown in the picture). He seemed to be aware of this issue as he jokely said " it's good for cold showers". Afterwards he brought a screwdriver and managed to fix it (this surely happened before and he was trying to save on the electricity Bill). 15 minutes later we had another problem, the internet doesn't work. The WiFi signal is strong but it gives the error message "problem setting up IP address", it seems like a recurrent issue as the internet works when the hostel is less busy but stops working when people are in their rooms. The room also showed clear signs of bad cleaning, the bath towels were dirty (see pictures) and there were a lot of spider webs and stains on the wall. Also, when checking in, we wanted to pay by card (it says that card payments are accepted on the accomodation's Booking profile) but the manager claimed they only took cash. we were going to stay for 3 nights, didn't have enough cash on us and he kept one of our passaports until we payed, doesn't seem to be a trustworthy behaviour being that we were promised on the APP that we could pay by card, plus we are travelling and shouldnt be walking around and unknown city to get a large sum of cash without ID. The toilets didn't have any soap or washing material, not even to wash out hands. The cherry on top was the breakfast, we could only get it after 09.30 (makes no sensor to start serving this late), plus we ONLY got it once as it was really really bad, the amount was poor and the meal was served cold (cold toast and cold pancake). To sum it all up, its provably one of the worse places to stay in Tangier, contrary to the manager's belief.

SwedenMy wife arrived there before me as we were planning to meet there. She was not allowed to get to the room unless if she payed even though I did prepayment through booking and with no cancellation option. They made it complicated for her after asking for so many documents like my passport copy, marriage certificate etc .. she wanted to pay by card just in order to get to the room to rest after a long travel, but she couldn't coz they don't have a POS terminal :) they finally took her passport as a garante ( I don't know why) when she got to the room, she said it was hard for her to breath because of the musty odor coming from walls mold that d almost everywhere, she couldn't open the window to get fresh air, coz there were no curtains so she could be private, especially in a downstairs room having window on the reception. She also said that everything in the bathroom was brothen and door of the room can't get closed without using the keys. She couldn't stay there and decided to move to another hotel but the guy in reception didn't want to give her her passport back. He was rude since the beginning and was crossing limits. She filmed everything and took photos from the room to share with u how it looked like in reality. She finally and after a strong argument that was any to end with the intention of police, got her passport back and we met in another hotel. I think it was rude from A to Z what the reception and these rules that i consider weird to not even give her her passport back when they are going to get payed anyway regardless of if we are going to stay there or not. We absolutely don't recommend this place for anyone, we have never had such a bad experience before
literally nothing 🚫.

United KingdomThere was no ventillation in the room and no AC or fan. Moreover, the wifi signal was very poor in the room and the phone network had no reception at all. It was very inconvenient to use phone to make calls or even to send messages.
It was very inconvenient to locate the property. The property page on booking.com mentions that payment can be made with card, but they refused to accept card payment and that was extremely stressful. Also, there was no wifi signal in the room. However, one of the staff members was very warm and hospitable.

GermanyThe property was incredibly dirty and the room appeared well overpriced. The room smelled like a "wet towel" as someone else had previously described in a review. In all honesty it was probably mould that had simply been painted over. Gross and a health risk… I mean, it was frankly not possible to remain inside the room without the windows staying open, which brings me to point 2: noise levels. Visiting a muslim country we had anticipated mosques and the prayers early in the morning. Our room was on the rooftop. I have never in my life experienced such roudiness. Travelers should know that the mosques nearby go off (very loudly) at 1am, 2am,3am and 4am and not just at 5am as expected. Since windows must stay open because of the stuffyness in the room, we were unable to sleep with that level of noise. The bathroom smelled disgusting, there were no hooks and they did not even have a shower curtain. Others had complained about bed bugs and I found myself itching the entire night. We were so uncomfortable and slept so poorly we decided to leave early after just one night. I have traveled around the world and have stayed in many countries. This place just sucked. We did not get our money back. Travelers beware!
Staff was welcoming and the hostel is located in the heart of the medina.
