Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SlovakiaThe apartment is in the old city of Kotor, however very quiet. It is very comfortable, owner is very friendly, there was a nice red wine waiting for us in the room.

United StatesIt was a good place to stay for 3 nights in Kotor. It doesn't have an elevator, not a problem for me to go up 2 or 3 flights, but it may be a hardship for someone with physical challenges
Spacious studio in the center of the Old Town, near restaurants and attractions. Good shower and AC.

United KingdomIt was raining very hard when we arrived to Kotor and it was only by chance that we came across the Partelli photo shop to get our keys. Perhaps there was a clearer sign but with the heavy rain we couldn't see this.
The apartment was clean and well situated. Could hear the music from the cafe next door which we enjoyed but may not be everyone's cup of tea.

We loved this apartment. It has a really nice location. It is a clean, tidy apartment with everything you need. In the evenings, you hear sweet music from outside. Especially the owner was really helpful, polite and interested. In addition, a bottle of wine they offer you in the room welcomes you, thank you for all.

RussiaPhotos on booking.com promise bright rooms set in a three-storey building overlooking the square. In fact, the house is squeezed into the bend of a very narrow street and cannot physically have any views. I booked already in the process of travelling and did not have constant access to the Internet. I specifically stated in the booking that I wanted the brightest room. Some time later, just a day or two before my trip to Kotor, when I was on my way from Tivat to Cetinje, I received a message offering to cancel my reservation in Kotor. I didn't even have time to realise the reason for this message, but a short time later I received a message that the full booking fee had been deducted. What happened later raises the suggestion of deliberate intent. In the end, instead of a bright room with high ceilings, I ended up in a dark hole in the attic at fourth floor level. The stairs upstairs are steep, narrow, no handrails, and there is no luggage assistance at all. Check out the attached photos, I took them at the brightest and sunniest time, but most of the accommodation doesn't get any natural light at all. Also, the ceilings are very low there, at 1.65m tall you can only stretch out in a quarter of the space. For illustration purposes, I took true-to-life photos where the height of the chair is 0.95 metres and the position of my hand and the top edge of the pyramid of two chairs is 1.65 metres. The bathroom in general looks like a burrow in terms of size, cheap finishes and mould on the walls. You can only stand up to your full height in the shower, but you can only brush your teeth bent over. After seeing all this horror, I offered the owner to refund me half of the booking price. His reply was categorically negative and not to say kind. The owner has four premises at this address. Perhaps the other three are bright with high ceilings. However, it is safe to assume that one in four guests have been scammed in the same way I was.
Key handover and charging is well organised. This is where all the good things ended.

United States- Leaky standing shower stall. Careful not to point the showerhead towards the direction of the glassdoor, because lots of water will wet the floor outside the glassdoor. Water will eventually flow to the drain near the toilet. - There are gaps in parts of the shower stall where water will definitely let water through if you point that showerhead towards the glass door. This is where the extra slippers and towels comes in handy. - Can smell sewer gas (a gross smell) coming out of the drain near the toilet. That's why there's an open window above the shower stall. - I hit my head on the ceiling a few times when standing up from the toilet.
- Center of old town Kotor, lots of sights, restaurants and shops within 10 minute walking distance. - Bedding was clean. Floors outside bathroom were clean. Hot water was functional. - Shower water pressure can be adjusted higher and lower. - Lots of towels and disposable slippers given for better hygiene when using the bathroom (see more details under what I didn't like).

United StatesI've stayed at a number of similar properties (apartments on booking), this was the only one I complained about. Other properties had a host or owner who helped with check in and took the tourist tax. This property the owner has you do that directly by walking to the tax office yourself. The tax office said this is unusual, and that this owner is an absentee owner who “doesn't seem to care.” This matched with my experience. When I informed him that the fan controls on the a/c didn't work (changing the fan level made no difference to the air flow), he said it was recently serviced. When I said that the four star rating didn't match up with what was delivered, he said that he didn't make the rating. I also informed him that the light right outside the front door shines into the room at night. The window is spray painted (really), but light still comes through. The owner was rude and defensive, offering me 3 euros to make up for the fact that the Wifi didn't work. He asked me to reset the router. I did this and it still didn't work. He blamed it on a global internet outage, though I had no issue with hotspots nearby or in other cities. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I've had much better. The owner said he is 60 and is thinking of getting out of the business in April. I agree that customer service isn’t a good fit for him, and wish him good luck in the next business venture. I would recommend looking at other options. I’ve had better experiences at 3 star apartments.
Location was great.

Israelroom (number 4) where we stayed is in a very poor state of maintenance and I mean only what depends on you and not just objective words like a construction site next to you, as I will detail: first of all there is no railing safety in the room and it is very dangerous. 1. In the room: the curtains are excessively full of dust. The kitchen is not clean (check the cupboards) and dishes and drinking cups are missing. The TV remotes don't work, probably the batteries are empty. 2. Bathroom: the light in the bathroom flickers, the faucet in the sink is not adapted to the sink because it is too long, the water in the shower does not drain properly and this floods the basin and even causes the water to come out from under the basin.

NetherlandsIt took us 2 hours to find the entrance of the apartment as there where no signs at the Google maps location (or anywhere else for that matter). Then we had to ask at restaurants and people kept pointing us in different directions. The instructions we received from the owner were also not right.

AustriaThe host realized that they could even charge for the attic if they just put a bed in it and that is exactly what they did. The bathroom is missing a window, they just removed it because it was in the way of the shower, so you hear everything as loud as down on the street, closing the bathroom door is useless, because it's just that shabby. The shower is leaking because only parts of the glass frame exist and because of the sloping roof the average height of the bathroom is around 1,50m. The kitchen and half the bedroom has weird stains on the wall, there are open wires sticking out next to the light-switches and even the door to the room is bent so hard you it does not prevent any noise from the floor. These are SOME of the faults. If you can't find anything else in Kotor, safe the money and sleep in your car.
The AC worked. The house looks nice from the outside.
