Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have some fresh fruit at breakfast and/or yoghurt. There didnt seem to be much consistency with the breakfast service in that other guests were offered some other options - e.g. salad. Also great coffee machine in room, but no pods?
Excellent location and lovely room. Added extra bonus of a lovely roof top terrace for evening drinks looking out over the spectacular mountains (I think also you could have dinner out there, although we did not). Great time had.

United StatesOur first room was right above an outdoor nightclub. In all our years of travel around the world, we have never encountered such a noisy room. The pulsing base and noise volume was off the charts. The next day we requested a quieter room and the staff was happy to accommodate our request. The second room was perfectly quiet!
Excellent breakfast, great front desk staff, and perfect location.

United KingdomEasy to miss the first step when coming down from the second floor. Shower area didn't have shelves to put washing products on. Rickety sink tap and loose fitted towel rail needed maintenance. Couldn't plug the kettle as the socket was too far and the fridge made a dreadful noise. Finally, a bar below our bedroom was playing loud music until 1.00 am - we could hear the vibrations coming through the room. Breakfast was confusing as the waitress stipulated what was on offer only to realise that you could order cereal and other condiments - please put a menu to avoid confusion !!!
Excellent location, friendly staff and clean room.

United StatesNoise at night. Very popular and loud, late night (till 1 AM) Pub was under our window. I know hotel has no direct control over that, but they should warn you. And, provide ear plugs!
Clean, nice, good location, great service.

United KingdomReally noisy but the staff did provide ear plugs which helped. The noise from the bars and clubs around was pretty bad, and even in the corridors the doors are not sound proof so you can hear everyone talking as they come and go in the hallways. WiFi didn't work in room but did in the hotel lobby.
Gorgeous room, comfy bed, great location, beautiful terrace, very charming hotel

United KingdomWhen booking we did not appreciate that old town and our hotel was by the pubs and karaoke bars which were under our room and played music until 1am. Not the most restful experience.

CanadaTerribly noisy. If you are on a certain side of the hotel you will not sleep, even with earplugs, until the loud club music stops at 1am. If I would have known how bad it would be I never would have booked the hotel. Also the waiter on the rooftop restaurant was rude and insulting and totally unprofessional. The shower has no curtain and floods the batheoom floor.
Good location in the old town. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful front desk staff.

FinlandWe booked the suite from this hotel. The bathroom and bedroom were nice and well decorated but the living room was just a long hall with 4 chairs and 2 sofas, that were underneath a ledge so that you could not even sit straight on them. The description said the suite includes one twin bed and one queen bed. In reality there was only one queen bed and the 2 sofas so I had to sleep on a sofa in the living room. Also the living room space with the sofas didn't have any curtains so I was woken at 5am by the sunrise shining through the windows. The description for the suite also mentioned executive lounge access but when we asked the staff where this lounge is they mentioned there wasn't one. The staff was mostly helpful but I would hope a little bit higher level of service for a 4-star boutique hotel and suite. For example we ordered drinks from the hotel restaurant bar and wanted to drink them in our suite, but the wait staff wouldn't help us carry them to our room when our own hands were full of luggage. Additionally the service during breakfast was a bit slow and we had to set the table ourselves. All in all it's a nice and clean hotel, but the suite is not worth the money, the room descriptions include false advertising and the service does not reach the desired level for a 4-star hotel.
Very good location, clean room, the public facilities were well decorated. Good view from the suite towards the mountains. Good breakfast.

AustraliaTwo of three windows in our room did not have block out curtains/blinds, so when the sun came up, it often woke us up. The hotel is right near a pub that is very loud until late at night.
