Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

QatarI can hear the noise from the next room. The card machine was not working so I have to withdraw cash to pay for my stay and dinner from the bar.
The staff were very helpful and gave recommendations and advise even though they struggle to explain things in English. I enjoy the local dishes at breakfast.

ChinaThe room with a shared bathroom is too small. No desk or chair. Better to choose a different room type. Unfortunately, in Myanmar, hotel rates for foreigners are higher than for the Myanmarese. Furthermore, they use a higher dollar rate than the official one when converting the amount in dollars into MMK.
An averagely good hotel with wonderful friendly staff. It's relatively clean. Not impeccably clean. A good location. Although rather far away from downtown Yangon. But still a bustling part of the city close to Hledan Centre and Myanmar Plaza malls. The regular power cuts didn’t bother me at all. Quite a lot of street food in the vicinity, and a market and a swimming pool just three minutes away. It's a beautiful city with friendly and helpful people.

United KingdomThe beds were not very comfortable, the rooms were dated. The shared bathroom was also dirty most of the time, and rarely had toilet paper. It is a very cheap hotel, but there are also good ones in downtown Yangon.
The breakfast was quite nice, and the staff are very helpful.

MyanmarThe only thing that makes me trouble is the unstable Wi-Fi connection. Maybe, because of the time and the room.
It is wonderful. The service and facilities are good enough. The price is quite reasonable. What is like most is the breakfast on the 7th floor, it is delicious.

ArgentinaI traveled to Myanmar many times because I love its people and culture. I have been to many hotels as well but Serene Stays has been by far my best stay, the kindness and attitude of the staff, always ready for any need, the best location, in the epicenter of the city means that you can move in any direction and reach your destination in a matter of minutes. Everything works perfectly at Serene Stays. I really wish all hotels were like this.

AustriaThis time the air in the room was very stale as you couldn't open the window for ventilation. In addition, this time I had to pay in MMK when paying by credit card, although I had been able to pay in USD the week before. The room was therefore about 40% (!!) more expensive due to the poor exchange rate. Nobody could explain to me why I had to pay in MMK this time.
The hotel is in a good location, the bar is great and like last time the staff were very friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe power cuts that are all too common these days in Myanmar. However, the hotel has a very healthy generator that takes care of everything, even the air conditioning.
My name is Tom Francis, and if you have a couple of minutes, I would like to tell you a story, so please bear with me: The staff picked up my luggage from the cab, while I was paying the driver. They missed one bag because the driver lied saying I only had one bag when in fact I had 2 bags, one was on the floorboard, so I lost the bag. In all truth they should have asked me, not the driver but everyone makes mistakes. It's what they did about it that impressed me to no end. When they discovered that they had lost one of my bags, the most important one. The manager "Wai Yan Soe" called the police and was relentless in his efforts for 2 whole days. They got the footage from the surveillance cameras, identified the car, tracking the car with the help of traffic police, till they found the driver. Upon finding the driver and searching his home, they found he had hidden the bag in his house, the police found it in their search. I had 3 MacBook Air computers that I use for my work as well as my US passport. The driver had the hotel business card from the hotel all the time because I gave it to him so he could call and get directions. The driver could have called the hotel anytime and let us know that he found my bag, but he did not. It took a police search to retrieve my belongings and all this was coordinated by Wei Yan Soe, the manager. Piece of advice in Myanmar, check your luggage every step of the way. The second thing is with the staff at Serene Stay Hotel, you are in safe hands. They had my back!
