Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot on the most salubrious of streets. Settle the bill early as card reader kept disconnecting. Likely a problem across much of Yangon.

Location is excellent as is the whole atmosphere of the hotel. It's just a very interesting place to be as it has history. This gives the hotel a different feel altogether compared to other hotels.

PhilippinesNot about the hotel itself, I just didn’t expect the surrounding area. It’s in downtown, so near everything which is good. I’m okay with the side vendors, unruly parked cars and narrow street in general. Just didn’t expect it right outside the hotel. But I know that’s something the management can’t do anything about so I guess it just took me off guard.
Everything. The room, facilities, staff, food. Exceptional!

United StatesCouple of items that I think they need improvement is their mode of payment. When I was booking the room no pre-payment option available; normally, this is not a problem but paying at the hotel is a little tricky. You can pay with cash but when paying with US dollars you need to have exact amount with you since they don't have small bill in US dollars for change. You can pay with Myanmar Kyats but it would turn out you'll be paying for more because the exchange rate is almost half the value. You can pay with Credit Card but I only saw one credit card machine. Also, probably because they're not fully operational yet but hotel hallways are not airconditioned so it's very warm walking to the room.
The hotel is beautiful-- lobby and room! Hotel decoration is reminiscent of old world charm with modern facilities. My room was also very spacious; bathroom fixtures (faucets, shower, bathtub) are topnotch and can even out-do many luxury hotels. All staff of the hotel I interacted with are very accommodating and friendly-- from their manager to bell staff. I was very impressed by the level of service they provided. The hotel is still not fully operational when I stayed; only 2 floors are open and other floors are under renovation so I hope that the level of exemptional service remains when they are back to full operations. Interestingly, outside of the hotel is a stark contrast when you stepped-in inside the hotel. It's probably how many felt during the colonial times--- hectic and busy outside with locals gathering and inside the hotel is quite and luxurious.

AustraliaWe didn’t stay long enough! The WiFi was patchy so can’t do video calls but the staff, yet again, found a solution and I didn’t find this a major issue.
I read a lot of reviews when selecting hotels on booking.com but rarely do I provide a review myself. This is absolutely the place to stay in Yangon. The hotel is one of the most beautiful and well appointed hotels I’ve ever stayed in - it rivals beautiful 5 star hotels in London or New York but at a fraction of the price. But the real stand out is the staff - they made us feel safe, secure, always friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Myanmar has significant challenges with civil unrest and yet this hotel - amid great difficulty - stays open and provides an exceptional, safe and friendly experience. So many other large international hotels have shut - it’s a testament to the staff and owners this hotel remains open and running in such a professional way. Breakfast was delicious and we also had lunch and dinner at the hotel - all three I can recommend. I also tried the spa and had a Burma massage and it was great. We loved Yangon and we loved this hotel!

Hong KongThis hotel is totally unlike other hotels. Housekeeping, restaurant, doorman so friendly so there is NOTHING you will not like. They are perfect hosts.
This hotel is the 'Baby Strand' and located on a side street near the real/actual Strand, which is currently a Rosewood Hotel.....so this hotel is near the waterfront & the India Embassy. The hotel has won a number of design awards for refurbishing an elaborate old bank building and the resulting space is comfy and welcoming. All the staff are keen to please guests and go the extra mile. You will definitely have an attentive concierge service while staying here. I went to the airport to pick up my partner and also make a run up to an airline office near Inle Lake. So easy with the staff here....thry organised it all at a monent's notice and.they even topped up my phone. As for the design of the hotel, the library is amazing and I love to sit in there and read. (Great Collection). I just love this hotel Oh yeah!! Huge bathrooms and bathubs!!! Good views from certain rooms, too.

United StatesRacist hotel policy. They charge more for foreigners even though I booked for a certain rate online. They wanted almost twice as much when I got there and saw I was white. There's no room for racism in the world. Gym is terrible.
