We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaIn such a star hotel you await that there are going to be shower gels and shampoo, but when we arriwed we had only shower gels, next day we had put only shampoo, but third day they even not put any new bottles for washing. The dance show had to be one hour long, but it ended very fast and dancers danced only around 6 songs. The dinner box if you arrive late is very small (one apple, banana and one sandwich with cheese and ham) compeared to what you would get in dinner. The sauna place needs to be booked in advance, but the room is very cold, there is no bubble bath and the only warm room is sauna. In the big swimming pool bubble bath is working automatically every 30 minutes, but the bubbles you get there are also very weak.
Very good location. Boats to Gozo and Comodo island goes just next to hotel. As well hop on, hop off buss has a bus stop just at the hotel. Malta public bus stop is just 2 minutes walking distance away from hotel. Breakfast and dinner tables has big variety of foods. Every evening there is different food theme. There are also different attractions happening in the hotel. Rooms are very nice and clean, there is water filling stations in every floor. We had genius room upgrade and our room had beautiful and big balcony with the sea view and table.

MaltaThe food was good and the room was spacious and comfortable, however there was no control on the air con, and it was very hot in the room. The solution we were told is to keep the balcony door open for air to come in.

MaltaWhat did I like? I like the music show in the bar (my stay was from Friday to Saturday), the dinner and breakfast was buffet many options, I can’t complain. What didn’t I like? 1. Temperature of the room was too hot, and the old AC system that they have either is cooling or heating and all the hotel or the main system must be changed. 2. Temperature of the indoor swimming pool was cold, suppose that there are some regulations of that temperature that can’t be more than 28-30, but I am almost sure that the temperature was lower than 28 degrees and everyone in the swimming pool was complaining, I couldn’t stay more than 20min. 3. The mattress is really old and uncomfortable, the same as the pillows. 4. The curtain of the bedroom doesn’t have black out so we woke up around 7am when I was planning to sleep at least until 10am because I wanted to rest. 5. The common part / corridor are quite old and they need a refurbish. 6. The parking space is exposed and there is not pavement just sand. 7. The outdoor swimming pool is not heated so during winder or spring is useless, hotel should invest in a heat pump. 8. Location: it is the 2nd farthest hotel in Malta from the center. 9. The name of the hotel is riviera but don’t get confused, I is not located in riviera bay, it is close to port where you could take the ferry to gozo, (no a nice place at all). Conclusion: this hotel is not 4 stars, at least no anymore, I could give 2 start and maybe 3 for the buffets. I paid 130€ for one night with breakfast and dinner included, good price but I am not coming back.

LatviaUnfortunately, our experience at this hotel was disappointing. We had originally booked for 5 nights, but ended up leaving after the second night and moving to another hotel. First of all, the location: while we were aware that the hotel wasn’t in the central part of Malta, we didn’t expect it to feel so isolated. There’s really nothing around – no cafes, shops, or places to explore nearby. Thankfully, there’s a bus stop close to the hotel, so we could at least visit neighboring towns. The hotel itself is quite large and crowded. The atmosphere didn’t suit us – mostly guests 40+, very few young people, and loud music playing daily, which made it hard to relax. Another downside was the strong smell of chlorine throughout the hotel, coming from the spa area. Speaking of the spa – you have to book the saunas in advance, and although the pool and jacuzzi are open without reservation, the atmosphere there didn’t feel cozy or relaxing at all. Even getting a towel involved going to reception for a card and paying a deposit, which felt inconvenient. All in all, we didn’t feel comfortable, and in order not to let it ruin our entire vacation, we decided to change hotels

Maltathe staff at reception was not very knowledgeable. Furthermore, we were asked to leave a deposit of eur 150 for any damages in the room - this i have never encountered in a hotel. also they have a condition that if you do not check out by noon, they will automatically charge your credit card.
we had a seaview room and it was beautiful. room was clean and spacious. breakfast was amazing - alot of choice.

MaltaUnfortunately we had to wait around two hours to get the complimentary wine which was included in the price. The phone in our room wasn’t working so we had to go down to reception twice to check on our wine. Eventually we had to pick it up ourselves. There needs to be more elevators in the hotel, the wait time is very long. The breakfast is also a mess in terms of seating - you are not escorted to a table and have to find one yourself. It took us a while to find an available table for 4 persons. The food is ok but could be better.
Very clean and the quadruple room was very spacious. We also appreciated the early breakfast at reception with cakes and coffee when we arrived back from an event around 3am.

NetherlandsThe safe didn’t work, we reported at the reception but nothing was done. The complimentary wine was forgotten, when we reminded, it was provided, but the staff didn’t close the door to the room once they put it there. The cleaning on the first day was barely done (even the garbage was not taken out). The check in was not very welcoming.
Great view from the superior rooms (sea view), remote location perfect for relaxation

MaltaThe carpets in the hallway were filthy, there was a constant queue to use the lift, the clientele this hotel attracts are loud, rude and act as if they’ve never left their house before. Drinks are not included in the buffet, not even soft drinks and the entertainment was tasteless and tacky.
The location is nice and the room was also comfortable and clean.

IrelandThe room was very big and clean. The spa area were disappointing, too many people in the pool area and they were all noisy. We booked this hotel to chill out in the spa area but that didn't happen. Breakfast was manic! Very busy and very noisy with food running low or out and we were in the breakfast room at 9am and couldn't find a table at first.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful but the check in desk staff weren't that friendly.

MaltaFront office staff is very slow. Unfortunately the stay started with a 1 hour queue to check in. Definitely unorganized. I had asked for the check in time prior to our stay, this gave the hotel every opportunity to explain that due to the very busy check in date, we could have come earlier to check in and only access the room once it is ready. I am writing this because even after one hour of waiting in line to check in, the so called Front office leader, did not even apologize.
Food was very good. We also had a very spacious and clean bedroom. Chris the F&B manager was very helpful and attentive with special dietary requirements, thank you Chris!

SwedenMy main issue was with the room quality and upkeep, which took away from the whole experience. Housekeeping was minimal. They’d make the bed but would skip things like vacuuming, especially the bathroom floor, which wasn’t cleaned as I’d hoped. The hair stays on the bathroom and room floor. The air conditioning was another issue. It made strange noises at night. The air feels more humid rather than cooling the room. The location is far from the main city area. This wasn't a problem for us as we had rented a car.
Beautiful waterfront views Breakfast is excellent with an elaborate menu. I appreciate the effort and the entertainment each night. The staff members are friendly and helpful. They have a gym, indoor pool, spa, and plenty of parking. Near the Gozo and Comino islands

MaltaThe pool was cold. We asked for a double bed and not 2 single beds next to each other. They have confirmed that they will complete our request, but still, we ended up in 2 single beds. Also , the hotel was not fully booked, but to and from our room to the lobby, we had a long walk. We would have loved a closer room.
The buffet dinner and breakfast were absolutely awesome. Nice selection and super tasty. We had an amazing massage at Carisma.
