Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe arrived to a electricity outage and no air conditioning with 40degree heat outside. Whilst this is obviously beyond the control of the hotel, staff were completely unapologetic. We were given no warning before arriving despite the electricity being out for previous 12hrs. Wanted to stay in another hotel with AC until issue resolved but was denied a refund nor offered any discount on stay. 'Bay room view' name was very misleading as it overlooked the street not the sea. To upgrade to a 'sea room' view for sea breeze on account of AC outage was expensive and again no discount offered. Roof top pool (which was the reason we chose this hotel and paid a lot more than other accommodation in the area) was extremely small, shallow and visually very unappealing on account of old peeling dirty fake grass/ AstroTurf surrounding it. It was also so highly chemically treated that my child was warned not to put her feet in it one evening when chemicals were added in case she developed a rash which was the end of us swimming in it. Overheard the staff members offering new customers booking there and then, an offer of half board for B&B price for month of July. This was not offered to us despite staying 11 nights in July booked months in advance which left a very bad feel especially given all of the above
Fantastic location

MaltaThe tv Internet froze at least 8 times in our 2 night stay which is terrible. Also the ac wasn't on when we were supposed to dine there for dinner. What made me more angry was when the male staff tried to tell me they switched ac 2 hrs prior of me asking. Afterwards they admitted the ac was not working. What made me more angry, besides being lied to the male staff at the reception wanted me to claim my refund for the 2 dinners I had previously paid over the desk at the hotel. He insisted I claim online since I booked online. I stood firm that they need to take responsibility since I paid at the hotel by visa. In the end after all my effort to speak up for my rights they ended refunding my visa....which I still have not recieved. It is disgusting actions for a 4 star hotel. They didn't even offer something complementary to show their apology. The manger quickly admitted their incompetence but that's all. If the manager is reading this. My advise is train your staff to communicate better when there is a problem. Don't lie to your guests. Guests are not stupid they can tell when they are being lied to.
The rooms were comfortable. Bed and pillows were excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Disappointed with the internet tv. Kept freezing. In 2 days froze at least 8 times.

MaltaWhen we were staying in the hotel the island was having a electricity failure due to the heat of the weather. But our hotel had a generator on roof and everything was kept working.
The hotel was a very comfortable experience. Everyone was of great service. The room was exceptional and very up to date.

MaltaAround the pool was faux grass - which was fine - very clean and nicely laid out, however, one spot where the grass had become unglued looked unsightly... this was not fixed at all in the 3 days we were there. Also, at the pool, there was no help to put up or take down umbrellas. However, as it was quite windy during our stay, it was understandable as the pool is on the roof of the hotel. No alternative for shade though when the umbrellas cannot be used.
Room was very clean, as was the bathroom. View was fantastic! A wonderful spread for breakfast and the staff were very helpful. The service in the restaurant was impressive - staff were attentive and constantly ready to clear tables or assist in any way. Reception staff were the same - cheery, pleasant and very helpful. It was how hotel service should be! Location is perfect - right by the water with a number of amazing restaurants to choose from within walking distance of the hotel.

MaltaThe breakfast was a complete disaster. Burnt scrambled eggs, stale fruit, sour baked beans. Did not even bother to have it from the second day onwards. Also if you are put on a room on the 5th floor be prepared for chairs being draged at aroun 11:00pm as there is a bar on top also to top it off there is a disco party which can be heard from the room which when we asked the reception what time it finishes the only reply we got was when all the guests leave.

MaltaA very basic and simple hotel and for the price paid, it lacks character. A lot more can be done with a property in such a prime location.
The room is fine, actually quite spacious and comfortable. The main positive with the room is the sea view. Check in was quick and efficient.

United KingdomRooms were average . Not that comfy. Balcony horrible. All enclosed by brick walls. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED AT ALL. FELT CLOSTRIPHOBIC!! Balcony furniture old and flacking . Rusty railings with flacking paint. Not worth paying for a sea view room at all.
The breakfast was good.

United KingdomThe decor is tired and dated. Our bed was really uncomfortable and when I complained to reception about the twin set up which need to be a double the receptionist blamed me for not responding to an email prior to arrival. I didn't see the question in the email about room set up because it was a small print foot note at the end after large amount of upsell information that I didn't need. The reception staff are fairly indifferent and unwelcoming they stood and watch me struggle to bring three suitcases in the door on my own without even acknowledging me. There are no decent lit or magnifying mirrors in the room and the wall mounted hair drier was useless for drying shoulder length hair. I've stayed in nicer hotels for less cost then this one.
The room was clean which was good. The location in Marsalforn Bay is good for access to restaurants the beach etc. Breakfast is efficient but could do with a broader selection of foods.

I understand the reason the hotel is old but it should have a ready attached socket in every switch of the room. the internet in my room is very poor connection.I was stay in the fourt floor and connection of wifi is poor.. for me the hotel doesn’t looks like 4 star..maybe 3 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ only in my opinion
