Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The welcome pack with tea, wine,... and a rose! Everything required to start living there (soap, dish wash liquid,...) was available.

United KingdomHaving a plunge pool or hot tub would've been superb, although we realise this property would struggle (space limited) to provide that. More choice of TV channels (particularly English) would also be good but we watched very little tv anyway so absolutely no problem.
Location great. very well equipped. Modern in style. Very homely and comfortable.

Our stay in this characteristic apartment was unforgettable. In real life it's even prettier than on the pictures, we were truly amazed by the way the place is designed. It's modern, but still very authentic! It was a great base to explore beautiful Malta, quite central and the ferry to Valetta is 5 mins walk away. We had a great time :)

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I were to visit Malta again!

United StatesWe wanted to stay in a traditional Maltese stone house, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice. The place is just spectacular. An additional restroom downstairs is an added bonus. The location is good - 5-7 minutes to the ferry that takes you to Valetta. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, but there are good restaurants within a 10 minutes walk. We'd totally stay here again if we're ever back in Malta.

We loved our 18 day stay at this heritage house, beautifully renovated to have modern amenities but the old character was retained. Very special. Very nice quiet neighbourhood, not touristy. Short lovely walk to the harbour to catch the ferry to Valletta, relaxing. Great market in Birgu on Tuesday mornings for vegetables and fruit. Delicious pastizzis in the Birgu square close by. Bus stops very close, busses worked well to Mdina and Marsaxlokk. Convenient little store around the corner. We would gladly stay here again

NetherlandsVery little, just a few minor gripes mentioned above.
The house oozes atmosphere. Especially when you see the pictures of what it used to look like in the brochure, it's impressive what its been turned into. What the house may lack in extreme comfort (you need to take care of the open stairs, and the sleeper (?) couch wasn't the most comfortable), it makes up with style and a very well-equipped kitchen. It was a real experience to stay 3 nights in a place like this. David, the host, was very helpful through chat messages. The house is located in a quiet part of town, 10 minutes walking from the harbour where the Three Cities join. I actually liked this part of the city better than Valletta itself. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay.

United StatesThe floors seemed like they collect dust, but I think that's just the nature of a stone house. Also the kitchen was missing a spatula to flip eggs with. Very minor things!
We loved this house, it had so much style and character, but was still very cozy. The air con and hot water worked great. The dishwasher and laundry was a bonus. The street was also very quiet and only a 5 minute walk to the ferry to Valletta. Parking was also easy to find.

IrelandA true example of excellent hospitality. Very good meeting rooms and catering. For example, a lovely bottle of wine was chilling for us on arrival and some food, water bottles in the fridge. Our host David went over and above to accommodate our needs. Beautifully furnished in a historic building, very clean and well equipped. Also, it is a good location and a very quiet atmosphere. Highly recommended staying here.

NetherlandsNothing.
The house was beautifuly renovated in a perfect harmony of modern and traditional building construction and was fully furnished with everything you need for a perfectly comfortable stay. Washing machine, even laundry detergent, super soft towels and luxury toiletries. The fridge was even stocked with milk, bottled water, bread and cheese to set you off on your first day. The owner was super helpfull and kind, sending us usual tips of where to go or what to see. The house is situated in a quite residential neighbourhood and has a small but handy convenience store around the corner. It's a 10min walk to the waterfront of Birgu where a series of restaurants are situated and you have the most impressive view on the Grand Harbour. The ferry to Valetta is right at the harbour and goes every 30min. The area offers plenty of free nearby parking opportunities, though not right in front of the house. For us the location of the house offered the best of both worlds, being central to Valetta, Birgu, Sliema and restaurants but in a quiet neighbourhood for a quiet nights sleep.

Germanyreads maybe a little biased: nothing.
We had a lovely stay in David’s wonderful apartment, his place has inspired us. We travel a lot and can say that he has wowed us with his attention to detail, choice of quality of all furnishings and with his generosity. We know (equally expensive) places where we first had to go buy toilet paper, not so with David, everything was there. We were thrilled being his guests.

This place really felt like home! It is a beautiful little flat, perfect for two people. The design is outstanding, everything was really clean and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine. David, the owner, is super nice and answerd all of our questions in such a short time. The location is great as well, different bus stops are close by, so is the ferry to Valetta. EstoniaEverything was amazing, nothing to add here.
Numru 27 is a masterclass in architecture and interior design. Raw, simple and effortlessly stylish. The medieval townhouse has been restored with such tasteful attention to detail that it is a treat to just sit and stare at the different levels of the house and how the light plays on the walls and stairs throughout the day. Although the footprint of the house is small, the clever use of skylights and keeping the spaces very open to one-another makes the whole place feel super airy and luxurious. The minimal style of the furnishing and use of materials is so relaxing and refreshing. The perfect place to enter, when you have spent the day walking around the beautiful narrow streets of Cospicua. Speaking of which, the location is perfect. Just a short stroll from the waterfront with many restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also some nice museums walking distance including fort St. Angelo, which is the perfect place to fo for history lovers. There was free public parking also available 100m from the house and we could always find a parking spot easily. The host, David, was super nice and accommodating. He gave us great tips on where to go for lunch/dinner and which beach to go for a cool dip in. As our flight was late in the day, he even let us have a much later check out. This was super helpful for us! Overall the best choice of accommodation we could've hoped for in Malta! We hope to be returning for another stay soon!

Czech RepublicThere was nothing to dislike about the apartment. The quite steep staircase leading to the bedroom could potentially be difficult to climb for travellers with mobility issues.
We loved the exceptional design of the apartment and the thoughtfulness and respect to the original building with which it had been renovated. Everything was brand new in the apartment, super clean and well equipped.
