Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWould have given it 10 if the A/C would have been a bit better at handling the humidity from showers or if they would change out the window in the bathroom to a power vent.
The location in Valetta was perfect for our first trip to Malta. Convenient to the sites we could walk to, and easy to call an E-Cab. Also, just around the corner and down 162 steps and a short walk to the nearby ferry. If Ronnie is there when you check in, it will be a great start to your stay. Truly an excellent representative of the hotel at the front desk.

IrelandNothing!
I asked for a room with few stairs and was placed close to the lift. Room had a lovely view. It had a fridge and 2 bottles of waters as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely view over the harbor. Received good advice about where to go for lunch and dinner! Staff were very friendly.

United KingdomWe had to 'check-out before 11am but our return flight was late in the evening. The hotel allowed us to store our luggage but when we asked if a shower would be available before we left for the airport we were told we could only use the 'public' open shower on the rooftop near the swimming pool. I think most people would prefer not to have to board an aeroplane in a sweaty and smelly state because they had been unable to shower and freshen up after a long day in such a hot location as Malta. This must be a very common problem so it would be helpful if the hotel had a shower room for guests to book and use for this purpose - even at a nominal extra cost.
The hotel was very conveniently located in a traditional but elegant building on a quiet road in the heart of Valetta. It was only a 5 minute walk to the City Gate, Triton Fountain and St John's co-cathedral with all the sights in wonderful Valetta in easy walking distance. The bus station is close by which opens up the whole of the rest of the Island with amazingly cheap and efficient travel. The reception staff were welcoming and eager to provide information. Our rooms were pleasingy large, well furnished and clean with coffee/tea making facilities. The bathroom only had a bath with a handheld shower where we would have preferred an enclosed shower - but we managed. A minor issue in one of our rooms was quickly rectified as soon as we informed reception - which was excellent service. There is a roof-top terrace area with tables and chairs and a plunge-pool - not a swimming pool - but still a nice way to sunbathe and cool off. On the ground floor, is a nicely furnished and relaxing bar with a seperate restaurant area. Breakast was self-service, with good hot and cold choices and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, our experience was very good and we rated the Osborne as very good value for our stay - definitely recommended.

SpainNo blinds or sunblock draped in the room, just curtain. So, I was woken up by morning light. The photos of the room corresponded to the ones on booking, but were misleading - the window was towards a dirty air shaft. The room was quite dark during the day. Some towels need to be replaced, looked very used. While the personnel was generally polite and neutral, one of the gentlemen of the reception staff could not help being condescending due to my nationality (I saw the frown when he noticed my Romanian ID. It is the first time in years of traveling in western EU that I feel this). In the evening before leaving (7 pm) I asked about the possibility to prepare a to go breakfast, as I was leaving at 6 am. I was told that I should have said that in the morning. I would have if I had known.
Very good, varied, breakfast. The breakfast room was pleasant. The hotel is nicely decorated, as well. I was impressed that the room has one European type socket. Nice, but quite small, pool. For me it was enough to stretch arms a bit and swim, but two would be a crowd. Good location. I asked before arriving for an iron and an iron board. They were in my room when I arrived.

AustraliaThe shower did not have great pressure and it was difficult to get it to maintain a good temperature (seemed often either cold or too hot and difficult to find a happy medium).
This hotel is stunning. Lots of beautiful little details that make the rooms a very comfortable stay. The views from the hotel are spectacular. The buffet breakfast offers great variety. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

United KingdomPool closes in the evening which I didn't think was necessary as it's an unattended pool so no reason it can't be open all night like many other hotels. Bar didn't open until the evening so unable to get a drink at lunchtime when we popped back to the hotel to cool off. Neither of these a major issue and didnt spoil an amazing stay 👍
Beautiful hotel. Stunning views (worth paying extra for the sea view rooms). Wonderful breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff.

HungaryThe location is really nice, it’s really close to the main landmarks of Valletta, everything is in walking distance! The building was renovated, the rooms were all clean and tidy, they gave us new towels every day, good breakfast, the AC was blowing cold air, nice cozy pool on the roof! The staff was really nice and funny, they answered all of our questions to their best knowledge. Especially thank you Michael, the recepetionist, he has made every day funny for us at the hotel!

United KingdomThe only negative was the rooftop pool, wasn't as inviting as it could be, and for drinks, there was a phone to contact reception stating they will bring drinks to the pool deck. In reality, we had to go down and collect our own.
The room, and all communal areas was lovely, and extremely clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and all staff members were really friendly and helpful.
