Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLovely place to stay in a fabulous location. Amazing views from the rooms. Good breakfast. Restaurant with lovely views. Close to public transport and all the places to visit in Mdina/Rabat. Helpful staff at the guesthouse. The place has a bit of a ‘faded grandeur’ atmosphere. I had a huge room with balcony & massive bathroom (room 1).

United KingdomThe food is a bit lacklustre - pizza dinner was obviously shop bought (bland) and continental breakfast a bit sad with its undercooked eggs. I’d stay again but opt for meals in town.
The location is brilliant, both Rabat and Mdina easily walkable. Very friendly staff, full of advice and helpful when I needed to leave my bags with them for a few hours after check out. Bedroom was spacious and clean (double, 1st floor) and the hotel felt secure for a lone female.

SwedenJust a note that there is no elevator, ok for me as I just had to walk up 1 floor.
Perfect location if you want to stay in Mdina, as it's just beside bus stop, parking area, restaurant, few min walk to attractions. The room was neat. One has to order breakfast from the restaurant, and options include sandwiches, omelette, and drink.

United KingdomWe had a ‘Superior Double’ but seemed pretty basic room. No space and a bit simple. Super clean though. Thank you.
The staff were excellent. Super service and very nice. What a good team.

SpainThe view from the photos isn't real (at least in my room). Some staff didn't try to be friendly (although they weren't rude either). At breakfast you can choose, but it doesn't really feel homemade, and I would've appreciated some juice.
Perfect location, between Mdina and Rabat. The room was small but perfect for one person. Helpful staff. The guy at breakfast was nice both to me and to a very annoying couple.

United KingdomThe room was cold due as I was travelling in the winter. Heater worked fast, but bathroom remained a little cold. Breakfast was basic, yet good enough.
Friendly staff and a fantastic location right next to Mdina gate and the bus station. Rabat centre only a short walk away.

CanadaHotel staff are very kind and friendly. We were able to check-in early, and got a lucky upgrade to a larger room, which was always kept tidy and clean. The breafast included was generous and tasty (which includes a hot drink + a warm plate option + fruit/yogurt options). We also had 20% off of prices at the restaurant attached to the guesthouse as well, we ate there several times and it was solid quality. As we traveled during the off-season, the restaurant always had locals which was lovely! Finally the location was amazing, from the entrance we can see the entrance of the Mdina gate (benefits of staying close was walking around at night!) and it was just few minutes away from Rabat, we even walked to Dingli Cliffs :)

United KingdomGreat location with lovely views, even if you don’t stay in one of the rooms with a view you can still walk around to the other side and enjoy the views from the terrace with several of the best restaurants in Rabat/Mdina The staff are super helpful and friendly. And very honest. I left my handbag in the bar area with my passport and cash late at night. They kept it safe till the next morning. Excellent breakfast with a variety of options

United KingdomNo UHT milk was provided to go with the tea and coffee and kettle that was in the room, although we got aroudn this by popping downstairs to the restaurant.
Very helpful staff, especially by way of car parking instructions (make sure you're parked in one of the white boxes!). Instead of going to the supermarket, staff at the restaurant bar kindly sold a large bottle of water to us which was very helpful and most welcome.

United KingdomThe guest house is also a restaurant, so it always feels quite busy. I try to avoid crowds of tourists, so I was a bit disappointed to be surrounded by two coach parties on their mid-morning beer and toilet stops while I was finishing my leisurely breakfast. My room overlooked one of the town car parks and a bar area, which made it a bit noisy til around 11pm.
Very central location: 200m to the main gate to Mdina and an easy walk into the rest of Rabat. Room was old style (as was the guesthouse) but very clean and gave me everything I needed for three good nights' stay. The bed was comfy. I took the breakfast option - and am pleased I did. The table service was always fast and efficient.
