Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SerbiaThe apartment was wonderful! It was extremely clean and very spacious with an amazing view from the balcony. It is close to the harbour and there is a bus stop right in front of the accomodation. It has got fully equipped kitchen and we really appreciated the bottle of cold water waiting for us upon arrival. George, the host is very friendly and helpful. He explained everything well and was always there for any questions we had. We had a lovely time! Thanks for everything!

PolandThe water in the shower might have a possibility to be turned on stronger stream. Besides that, nothing much to complain.
Great host, always available to help or answer questions. The house is equipped with all necessary facilities, with plenty of space. Location is a great starting point for visiting the Eastern and Southern parts of Malta.

United KingdomIf we had one dislike it would be, due to Marsaxlokks location on the south of the island, to get to most places using the bus other than Valletta and Marsaskala you'll need to get 2 buses. But that's going to be the same wherever you stay out-with Valletta so it's a minor complaint but one to keep in mind.
The apartment was perfect, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or a better host in George. Access to the apartment for the first time was easy as George had sent a video showing us how to get in and where everything was. On arrival we found a welcome pack of bread, butter, ham, cheese, wine and bottled water waiting for us. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully finished to a high standard and a generous allowance of electricity everyday to allow you use of the air conditioning in every room (something you pay extra for in a lot of other places). Each bedroom has ample wardrobe and drawer space and extremely comfy beds. The main bedroom has a balcony that gets the sun in the morning with a view out to Marsaxlokk bay and the livingroom has a balcony for the sun in the evening. If you're using buses to get around the island there is a bus stop about 50m outside the front door where you can get buses to Valletta and Marsaskala. If you ever have any problems, George lives upstairs in the same apartment block and during the day he can be found next door at his stationary shop so is always on hand to help if needed. (his stationary shop is more than just stationary, so do go in for a look and maybe get some holiday gifts) Marsaxlokk itself has loads of places to eat, we always came back here every evening to eat at a different place along the sea front rather than eat where we had visited that day. The sea front is a 3 min walk from the apartment so not far to go if you fancy a morning coffee before it gets busy or dinner at night. Altogether we loved it and would definitely stay here again.

Czech RepublicI really have no complaints at all. Maybe just one notice: the wi-fi doesn't cover the whole apartment, so if you need to use it, just be advised that it works mainly in the kitchen and the living room. Also, sometimes it was quite noisy in the morning as there were construction works over the street (April - May 2022) and in the streets around, too. However, is wasn't the fault of the apartment - there are construction works all around Malta :)
The apartment is situated some two minutes walk from the seaside and has a georgeous view (from the back balcony) over the Marsaxlokk church (and the sunrise, if you get up that early). It's brand new, huge and super!!! clean, with really comfortable beds, a big kitchen, nice and spacious bathroom, washing machine, TV, hair dryer etc. etc., basically everything you need. Plus: George, the host, is so nice; he kindly picked us up from the airport in the evening free of charge, explained everything and was around in case we need any help (he lives in the building and runs a store just next to it). He left us a bit to eat and to drink in the fridge, too, which we really appreciated after the journey. Thank you again, George!

United KingdomMaking own bed. Had to ask for clean towels and bedding. Clean linen brought was to apartment. Have never had to change bed linen myself. Have always experienced a member of staff coming to studio/apartment on regular basis to clean and change bed and towels. Unfortunately our flight was delayed. It would have been nice to have had at least a bottle of water left in the fridge for us.
Amount of space in apartment. Two double bedrooms both with fitted wardrobes.

EstoniaWe would have given it 10 points probably, but... we can't review the apartment we actually booked. We paid for 3 bedroom apartment, but on arrival we were told that the apartment was double booked and as the other party consisted of 6 people (there was 3 of us), the owner decided to give us 2 bedroom apartment instead. As we are all light sleepers, sharing a bed was not an option. There was sofa bed in living room, but it was right beside a busy street on ground floor and sleeping there was nearly impossible because of the traffic noise. The air conditioner in the living room was very noisy, too. ACs in the bedrooms were fine and quiet. So we didn't get what we paid for. Also it would have been nice to know beforehand that there is a 200 EUR deposit required - we didn't have that amount of cash with us. Not a big problem though as there was ATM nearby.
The apartment was brand new, very clean, we liked the central location and bus stop just across the street. It was good to have air conditioner in every room free of extra charge, washing machine and fully equipped kitchen.
