The shower in the bathroom leaked every time we used it, which caused a huge flood into the main room. There was extremely loud construction every morning from 7am, even with the doors closed, it woke us up. The front reception staff called Anna was very rude and not helpful when our bags were lost. Gym Standards were very low.

The location is great, and the pool is lovely with a nice view over the town. The chef called Vince was fantastic, very kind and accommodating to my vegan diet. Every day he made an effort to make me a desert and main meal.

Construction works wake me up at 7 each day including weekends, that was very noisy and irritating. They are building right 2 meters next to the hotel balconies. No view there will be, no privacy...

Excellent location and stuff, great breakfast and spa. I would stay there again if not a construction that is being built right in front of the window/balcony. There will be no view at all.

We got a room with no view, actually we were looking to the wall of narrow atrium, it really felt like prison. I think hotel should inform guests about this upfront, because it is not a standard room. Also the breakfast time was short, so it was usually overcrowded.

The location was nice. The hotel was nicely renovated and clean. The view from the pool at the top was beautiful.

Bellini restaurant was unfortunately not a good experience due to a rude staff member, however this was discussed with reception and feedback was received.

Darko is absolutely brilliant, made us feel very welcomed by check-in and helped us for any questions that we had. Extremely good start to enter the hotel, thank you for that!

Staff could have been more helpful as we had to cut the holiday short, they wouldn't refund the 2 nights we weren't staying, asked to speak with booking.com, booking.com was happy to help and refund but the hotel declined!

Location was OK, good transport links, breakfast was alright, pool area was OK.

Lots of noise right next to the hotel. A building site. First room /with no view/ turned out to be underground . We had to upgrade to a better one for 210€ for 6 nights . Scam messages , asking for credit card verification . Definitely not a 4 star hotel !

We booked a studio for 3 nights at Solana Hotel & Spa for my family and me (2 adults, 2 kids at the age of 5 and 3). Before we arrived there were already problems, as the hotel was hacked and spam messages were sent to us (and probably other customers, too). The arrival at the hotel was also not that comfortable. There is no "drop-off" zone for the luggage and family, so you have to stop/park directly at the main street, which is narrow and busy and it is really difficult to find a parking spot there. The parking garage in the hotel is not free of charge (parking in the neighbourhood is difficult, but free of charge), but allowing the guests to drop-off the lugage there would be the least the hotel should offer. The next big disappointment for us was our room. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but it was directly opposite to the restaurant of the hotel. The restaurant also has an open terrace, that is naturally used by the guests. In order to have some privacy you have to close the curtains almost the whole time, when you're in the room (restaurant is open for dinner till 10.00 pm in the evening). Last but not least, there are constructions ongoing in the hotel at moment. The construction was also directly next to our room and the workers startet like 6.00 am in the morning. It was really loud and after the work the work started, it was really difficult to continue sleeping. We discussed all the thing mentioned above with the staff at the reception. In the first place, nothing happened. After sending a first feedback, the management of the hotel got involved and asked for meeting (we had the meeting before our last night in the hotel). The management admitted the shortcomings and offered us a complementary breakfast for the last day. We accepted the offer and had to sign a document, that the breakfast is offered as a compensation.

There was construction in front of the room, so we couldn't sit outside or open the door. Sleeping in the morning was only possible with ear plugs. They didn't work on Sunday, but then the hotel staff repaired stuff close to us. Almost like real life comedy 🤣Good customer service would have been: reduce the price for each night for the period of the construction or offer an upgrade (different view, higher up?) for a SMALL amount, not the 120 Euros for three nights we were offered. Asking if something could be done about the price, they reduced it to 100. Does hotel management not want good reviews? I'm not the first to complain (see in the comments), so that's very strange to me. At first glance the room seemed clean, but the corners and drains in the bathroom were horrible. Construction issues were all around. The shower drain was horribly installed. Water also came out of the pipe near the showerhead (which they tried to fix), and we could basically take the showerhead out of the wall if we wanted. Elderly people could easily trip over ledges in the tiled floor. WiFi sometimes didn't work. Hotel staff in the restaurant was unwelcoming or quite rude (except for the cashier). Breakfast wasn't great. If you're a vegetarian or try to eat healthy in the morning, don't try to do that here. You'd be stuck with fruit and Joghurt in tiny containers or some vegetables with... Eggs? Cheese was good in the evening, but terrible in the morning. Juice in the morning was sugary liquid.

The reception staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful. Food in the evening was quite good, although only if you're prepared to eat a lot of meat and seafood. Vegetarians had only one two main course meals during our three nights stay...

We recently stayed at Solana Hotel & Spa with our kids, and overall, we had a good time. The kids loved the stunning views and had a blast at the pools, which kept them entertained throughout our stay. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the area, with easy access to bus stops and a variety of restaurants nearby. However, one downside is that it's a bit far from the beach, so be prepared for a short commute if you plan on spending most of your time by the sea. The room we stayed in was spacious and provided enough space for the family. However, we noticed that it could have been cleaner, which was a bit disappointing. Some attention to detail in the housekeeping would make a significant difference. As for the gym, it was decent, but it could use some more equipment or maintenance to enhance the workout experience. Despite these minor issues, the friendly staff and the overall ambiance of the hotel made our stay enjoyable. With a little improvement in cleanliness and gym facilities, Solana Hotel & Spa could be an even better choice for families looking to explore Melieha and its surroundings.

The breakfast was mediocre at best. Uncomfortable smell in bathrooms and communal staircase/corridors. Walls are thin, a young Danish couple next to us seemed to have been on their first vacation without parents. Overpriced massages. The hotel staff try to upgrade you for a “small” extra cost which turns out to be the actual cost. Unfortunately, it becomes clear the main purpose is to save as much as possible while convincing guests to book or upgrade expensive extras.

The Hotel is nicely located in the Main Street of Mellieha. Plenty of small convenience stores close by. Many restaurants in close vicinity.

It was really noisy. You give me a room right next to the construction site. I couldn't sleep because I was hammering and doing construction work loudly from 6 a.m. Besides, I couldn't sleep properly with the too loud sound of water and air conditioner all night.

The constant building work (which I definitely should have been advised about!!!!!), noise, dust, blocked shower, thin old towels, unappetising breakfast. I wish to make a formal complaint and request compensation from booking.com and the hotel, who have together withheld the truth about this property, now I understand WHY booking.com promoted this hotel so heavily!!!!! The noise was intolerable, starting at 07:30am in the morning, as was the dust in the breakfast room outside and my balcony… this was certainly NOT WORTH the price I paid. The bathroom flooded on 3 occasions and then was fixed. I could not use my balcony due to dust and intense noise from building work no machines… Kindly have your complaint department contact me…. I have photographs and I am really concerned that both parties have colluded to misrepresent this property!!!!! It was supposed to be a tranquil holiday, I could not even use the pool area, and in the end started to take breakfast elsewhere…

The staff were professional and courteous at all times. Most of the hotel was clean and well cared for.

The staff isn’t helpful, we lose 2 days from our vacation just for the accident that happened, we lost our clothes and important medicines all of that and the hotel tell us that he’s not responsible about what happened , but absolutely he responsible because we were in the hotel and thief enter the hotel which not safe for the people

Nothing, the smell is terrible also its not safe which we got stolen inside the hotel, we put our luggage in the luggage room and stranger came and stole them , there isn’t security so its so easy to enter the hotel and do what ever u want even to the rooms

Other than the staff, everything else was bad. The room was a new one in a different building and we needed so much time to get there (you need to take two different elevators). We arrived pretty late and the room was absolutely disgusting: hair and dirt all over the floor, hair on the bedsheets, boot stepmarks on the bathroom floor, hair in my towel. We called the reception and they called someone to clean the room for us again. The receptionist and the guy who came to clean were great, but the experience was terrible. Breakfast buffet was not very pleasant and the hotel gets very full.
