Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLovely traditional house with small outdoor spaces, beautifully furnished and decorated throughout, good shower and air conditioning (very important), area was handy for bus services. Hosts were lovely, very friendly and helpful. No issues at all. The area was quiet and residential, untouristy, which suited us perfectly.

United KingdomThe listing is perhaps a little misleading. It says there are 2 bathrooms with a shower. In fact, there is 1 bathroom with a shower, and 1 separate WC. We had hoped for a house with two bathrooms, but it worked out fine.
The beautiful home was even lovelier than the photos showed. Very spacious and immaculately clean. It had all the amenities we needed for our week. The family were very helpful in meeting us with the keys, and providing information both on arrival and throughout our stay. The house is set in a lovely area, among traditional houses. A 24hr supermarket is just a few minutes away. We could even walk to Birgu, and from there catch the water taxi to Valletta. Bus stops are close.

United KingdomThe spiral stairs to the upper room were narrow making them a bit difficult to navigate with a suitcase! But we had 2 teenagers who used the room so it was no issue for them to whizz up and down.
We were visiting family in Zabbar and this was central, just 5 minutes from our family. The hosts were fab and the house was very well equipped. Just before we left the host gave us a beautiful parting gift and something for our girls too it was very thoughtful and kind 😊

Ta’ Girard is a beautiful townhouse in a residential street. The decor was full of character. The family greeted us at 2 am and showed us around the property and showed us where to get breakfast and suggested places to visit. When they came to check out they had made us all some beautiful handmade gifts and made us feel like family. We hope to visit again and are sad our dates are not available for our return trip in August .

United KingdomIt was lovely to meet the owners, who were warm, friendly and helpful. The house was spotless and very comfortable. Zabbar is a quiet town and supplied with the little local, Maltese shops that I like (excellent bread and pastizzi) and supermarkets. Good bus links close to the house. Zabbar is a lovely characterful, Maltese town.

United KingdomParking can be difficult, it's free but there are no spaces in the evenings. This is of course a common issue across Malta. Make sure you park between white lines ONLY, avoid anything yellow or without lines. Especially avoid parking in front of any type of garage doors! They don't give you a penalty notice in Malta but tow your car away. There are air conditioning units installed in all bedrooms, they work as heat pumps during colder days as well, but you would need €2 coins to operate them. Two euros was enough for one night.
Incredibly quiet location. Lots of space for three people (three bedrooms). Inner yard with small balcony on the first floor. Everything was exceptionally clean and new. I have stayed in many apartments - that was the cleanest I have seen, spotless. Location close to Valletta, sizeable grocery store 5 min walk away, open 24h. Other shops are nearby. Safe area, few tourists, only locals. Bus stop to Valletta and other places 5 min walk. The owners of the apartment are great, they really take care of their property and their quests.

RomaniaOur vacation was very beautiful. We were excited about visiting Malta and this location made it even better. It was very comfortable and the design was really special. It made us feel like home. The accomodation was very well located and gaved us the chance to assist a specific festa in Malta where we really felt the maltesse vibes and saw the traditions. Our hosts were very kind and nice and helped us with all the informations and indications that we needed. I hope that i will be back soon in Malta and surely i will choose the same accomodation. Thank you for everything!

ItalyIt's a fully renovated and tastefully decorated three-bedroom townhouse. We found it sparkly clean and comfortable, everything was way more than what the two of us needed. There is pay-per-use AC for about 1 euro per day depending on usage. Free street parking could be found driving a few minutes around the block. Above all we appreciated the kindness and friendliness of the owners.

United KingdomThe only thing we didn't like is the twin bedroom does not have air conditioner, it can be very warm.
The accommodation is very good value for any group who is visitng Malta for a week and more. The accommodation has all what you need from basic living essentials, very homey feel after a day worth of travelling around the island! There is free parking in the neibourhood, you just have to be a bit patient to find the spot, we got used to this by Night 2. There are local shops in walking distance, we highly recommend the nearest Bank of Valleta (near the Zabbar Parish Church) for cash withdrawl and there is a small bakery opposite of the bank!

PolandOur 5 days visit to Malta was fantastic and the house we stayed in, was very important component! Usually when you see photos on Booking, they are tuned to pretend the location is better than in reality. In the case of Ta' Ġilard, it was on the contrary: we got what we saw, and even better! The house was super clean, equipped with everything one may need for their stay in Malta, including pots and frying pan if one wants to cook their meals, iron and ironing board etc. Master bedroom and 1st floor bedroom are equipped with A/C, which is very important in high temperatures we experienced. We had a rental car and there was no issue to find a parking spot in the neighbourhood. Żabbar is a good starting point for Malta trips, you can drive to Tri-City and take a ferry to Valleta, you can make a sightseeing trip to cliffs on the west of the island or go to Gozo by ferry. The neighbourhood is calm and quiet, there are shops just few steps away, you can buy fantastic bread not far from the house. And the most important was the hospitality of the owners! The family was waiting for us with a bottle of wine and small gifts, they spent more than half an hour explaining us everything, starting from house amenities, places worth visiting, to important things we should be aware of in Malta. We felt really important for family Micallef. Their responses to text messages were instant, they also allowed us to leave our luggage in the house on the last day of our stay, so we could comfortably spend it doing sightseeing without concerns about our belongings left in the car. I really recommend Ta' Ġilard, so far one of two best location rent through Booking.com!
