Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBathroom very small. Floor from shower spray got very wet. Bedroom would benefit from soft, easy chairs.
Great location in centre of Marsaxlokk. Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Very powerful shower. Enjoyed having the mini fridge to keep our drinks cool. Chose a room with balcony and glad we did. Breakfast selection was good for a continental. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

SlovakiaThe view from the window is into an inner block, but nothing tragic 😊
The breakfast was great, the room looked exactly the same as in the pictures. Everything was clean and the communication with the staff before arival was flawless. The late self-checkin was a great help and everything was effortless.

GermanyVery beautiful guest house which is family run, the daughter even welcomed us in German and was very helpful regarding getting to know the small village, where to eat and what to do. Breakfast was very good, we recommend eating it on the rooftop terrace. Although Marsaxlokk is very small, it is nevertheless very well located at the bay.

United KingdomWe had to carry our cases up one flight of stairs before we got to the lift, which wasn't ideal.
The location was great, with road parking nearby. The room was large, comfortable, and clean. We were given plenty of local information when we checked in to help us find somewhere to eat and areas to explore. Breakfast was fresh, a simple continental buffet.

Czech RepublicThe location is great, a couple minutes of walking distance away from the harbour, great restaurants, markets and main bus stop in Marsaxlokk (buses from/to airport and Valletta goes through it). The staff was just great and kind and went out of their way to make the check-in possible way earlier as we landed early at night. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a fridge and was very clean. The breakfast was great with plenty of options to choose from. You also have access to the terrace with fine view

SlovakiaThe downsides of the room were 2. The first one was too soft trampoline-like bed which was not so comfy to sleep in. The second one was rain shower in the bathroom which was really nice when you want to refresh yourself, but admitedly difficult when you want to actually clean yourself, as for the lack of hose and hand shower you can't change the direction and the angle of the current which is quite uneffective. Our room had view to the patio and a small balcony (very small, for one chair only). The view wasn't really nice, but since we were all the time away, we didn't care. The breakfast area is very nice, but very small. You can take the breakfast to the terrace, however, terrace is on the east side and the sun is burning hot from the very morning, so that didn't work for us. The location isn't bad per se, there is bus stop over the corner with direct bus to Valletta (81) and 210 which is usually combined with another buses to get into the center of island and beyond. However the public transport is just horrible. You can't rely on anything really and if you need to go somewhere using more then 1 bus, that's a nightmare, becuase although the journey planner says that the buses will come one after another, it's not reliable. They have huge delays (20-30-40-50 mins, they don't come at all, they don't stop on the designated stop because of the reconstructions, but there's no sign of it anywhere) or come 5 mins before. Very rarely on time. From this point od view, the location isn't good, as there isn't anything special in the walking distance, you need to take a bus to get somewhere. The closest beach is in the next town, Burzibugga, however the beach isn't pretty as it says in its name. There is an industrial port nearby with huge ships and the beach is very close from there, so it's quite polluted and you still see and hear big industrial ships.
The service in the Guesthouse was really perfect. Communication was great from the moment I reserved the room. I had special request for vegan breakfast and they did go beyond and above to provide the most plentiful choice for me. Truly amazing. The possibility of late self check-in with very detailed instructions was also great. We've got room with big bathroom, which was suitable also for people with disabilities. Also, there was a lift to the reception from the front door for disabled or inmobile people which I think is really thoughtful. The hotel at all and our room was very clear, very well maintained and it was comfortable.

FranceNothing the staff can do about, but the echo in the corridor woke me up early morning.
The staff was very nice and helpful, during and even before my stay, giving detailed info about the self-check in. The room was large, clean and well-equipped, the microwave is a thoughtful and handy addition to the usual room commodities. A wide range of food is available for breakfast and you can even have it on the roof terrace. The hotel is perfectly located, next to the marina with restaurants and the market, bus stops, convenient store and coffee shop.

AustraliaBathroom was a little small, but it was really nothing to comparison about as everything else was so good.
The customer service was exceptional. Checkin was a breeze. Local information and map provided was excellent. We arrived early and Frangesko offered to message us as soon as our room was ready. Not only did he do this, but he has placed all of our luggage in our room ready for us. All the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much bother. I would stay here on my return and recommend the guest house to anyone looking for a persons, attentive service.

The breakfast staff was incredible, and it's lovely family business. The view from the terrace was nice but you have to climb on a chair to see the harbour (cute thing to do). Super close to the harbour and bus. Everything close by. The rain shower was amazing, and soft 🚿

United KingdomNothing to comment - everything was ideal
Absolutely superb accommodation in a superb location - couldn't have asked for better. The room was ideal - very spacious, plenty of storage, much needed airconditioning & fridge, comfortable bed. In comparison the bathroom was on the small side but even so there was a lovely walk-in shower and all the needed facilities. The best part was the huge terrace offering views over the harbour - it came with table and two chairs, two sun loungers and umbrella and attracted the sun all day. Breakfast was the same every morning but it was well presented and offered good variety - fruit juices, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, continental selection with machine on hand providing good selection of tea/coffee. Very friendly, helpful staff with nothing being too much trouble to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Took advantage of airport transfer service with details being well communicated and no issues experienced. The location was ideal - just up a side street but within few meters of being amongst all the restaurants along the harbour front, market stalls, boat trips etc
