Chez Henri was a great find! We booked last minute and they kindly were able to get a room made up for us. The photos don't really do it justice; it's a lovely unique home with beautiful features. The room is on the top floor and is light, airy and spacious, with a sofa and a little kitchen area so you don't have to drive somewhere for dinner. It's a nice area and the beach was blessedly quiet. In the morning I was able to walk there in a couple of minutes and have a lovely sunrise swim. Henri and his wife are very welcoming with a nice energy, and made us a perfect breakfast to enjoy on the terrace of their beautiful front garden. Max (lovely big hairy cuddly dog) was a highlight for me too 🥰

We missed a kettle.

Location is great, only 3 minutes by foot to the beach where you can snorkel. Bus stoo Mahebourg/Blue Bay just in front of the house. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the room was nicely furnished and clean. The kitchenette was very basic but good to have. Balcony was very small but we liked the view to the fields. A/C worked well and the shower was hot and had good pressure.

Owned by a lovely couple, who make you feel at home and have lots of tips for things to do. The room was big and also had a small kitchenette, and a balcony with a view of the countryside. Breakfast was good and served looking over the garden. The beach is just over the road. Easier to stay here if you have a car but there are buses to Blue Bay and Mahébourg during the daytime. About 15 mins from the airport by car/taxi.

Supermarket and restaurants can be accessed by foot but we would recommend to rent a car to make your stay a bit more convenient (also for doing day-trips of course).

We felt very well welcomed and enjoyed our stay at Chez Henri. Room is great and has everything you need, breakfast is good, and the access to the beach is very easy and nearby. So definitely a recommendation to stay here some days to explore Point d'Esny and Blue Bay.

When it rains and you sleep under the roof, don‘t expect to get much sleep.

Super friendly hosts. They told us straight away where to go for dinner (blue bamboo, def. recommend!). Very big room. Old facilities, but clean overall.

We were in the room with just one window (plus a smaller one with in the bathroom) and it did get really hot sometimes. Keeping the window open was not an option because of the mosquitos. Of course, the room had a functioning and new AC system, but I prefer always „natural air flow“, which was not always possible.

Henri and Majo are incredible and experienced hosts. They gave us many useful tipps and good advice. The room was big and very comfortable. The cooking area was small but had everything necessary to prepare easy meals. The bed was comfortable.

There were too many wasps around! which the owner can’t control but was impossible for me to cope with. The owner gave me insect spray right away to try and help .

The room was so spacious and pretty with nice views , big mirrors and a mini balcony . The bed was really big and comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent . A stunning beach was 3 minutes walk away . The owner was very kind to accommodate me with late check out before my flight .

There are no restaurants nearby, so a car would be good. We didn't have a car, so we used the bus going from the front door to Blue Bay and Mahebourg every 15-30 minutes, but at night is stopped around 6pm.

Lovely b&b with the most helpful hosts. Quiet and beautiful surroundings, and a long beach just around the corner.

That we didn't book longer. The kitchenette facilities were good but basic, so for example we didn't have a kettle, but that's really it.

We enjoyed every moment staying in Chez Henri. Both Henri and Majo are very happy, enthousiastic people and we felt very welcome and flexible from the moment we arrived. We could do what we wanted and Henri and Majo were always available to help and give recommendations. It's a simple and easy location which has everything you need and even though it's not located on the beach front, it's directly accessible to the beach. The Booking description is not completely up to date, there is WiFi and a little electric stove.

Not having more personal space. The balcony was very small but this is reflected in the price. We had no complaints at all.

Great big room with a great location with friendly hosts . Thankyou Maya and Henri. You were very kind and helpful especially accommodating our late checkout. We will be sure to visit again and recommend to our friends. The beach is only a short walk and it was fabulous. Blue bay, we walked in 25 mins but there are regular buses and taxis. Having a small kitchenette was very useful also.

I don't write bad reviews, but I want to warn others. On the day of arrival, the host told me to cancel the reservation because there are no available rooms. Without any apology or attempt to help. We came to Mauritius without accommodation. Very bad experience. Reading the reviews now, I see that this has happened before. Watch out because it was a stressful experience!

I dreaded walking up the stairs to the room. The stairs are too steep.

Breakfast was good. The host was very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious. The roofing made too much noise when it rained. The shower drained too slow and the water wasn't always hot enough.
