Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaI wish there were more facilities in the room.
The room was very neat and clean and the staff accommodated for my needs whenever required. Jean Marc was very helpful, he gave me suggestions about the tours and the pub crawl scene there.

United KingdomThe staff were amazing! They all made my stay special. And the food in the restaurant was excellent; with a good selection at the bar. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I was working remotely while here and the wifi was reliable. I was able to have my laundry done too. There is a heated pool and the location is great, central to everything. It was also incredibly good value. I’ve stayed at a number of places on the island and this was definitely the friendliest and I would come back.

UgandaCigarette smoking in a public facility by some guests. From where i come from, cigarette smocking is not allowed in a public place/facility like a hotel etc.
For a person from continental Africa and especially Uganda, the breakfast was not what i am used to. The location was good. There was no noise.

MauritiusPool should be more private, too many people can watch you while they are eating, and from the road. So I didn't use it, I booked for the pool. Saw a staff member in the kitchen with a cigarette hanging from their mouth. Was told we could park our bikes in side by Luc, then told by Marc they had to be moved during the day, (no problem) then at night whilst parking the bikes up, we were told by chef/waiter to put them outside, not happy with that. When we had already got permission. Nice, but there are more places I've stayed in Grand Baie around that price that have kitchens and private pool. Unfortunately, it was an urgent booking,
Very pleasant staff and owners. Liked the idea of the room cleaning

IndiaIf you are a group of people, renting an apartment or bungalow will work out much cheaper.
It was amazing, staff was super friendly, location is spot on. If you are two people travelling then this hotel is highly recommended. The owner Luc was especially nice and super welcoming.

Austria- like everywhere on the island you can hear outside noise inside (not the hotels fault, guess thats just buildings in Mauritius in general)
I enjoyed my stay here & would definitly consider staying here again when in Grand Baie. - the location is great - close to restaurants, shops, public beach & bus stops - friendly staff & owners, very accomodation even when arriving early & allowing luggage storage after checkout - clean room, comfy bed - food at the restaurant also very good

South AfricaWe stayed for 3 nights and all 3 we didn't get a good night's rest because the bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable as well as the bedding. I'd also suggest a little more attention to detail to the room, Especially for the price 😊

The communal furniture was very comfortable. The a/c was good. They gave me a kettle when I asked.

GermanyI booked a room with a pool view but my view was like that. Since there were loud parties in the pool area, I am not sure what is better/worse. Internet was extremely slow and I got kicked out all the time (I need it for work, so I got up at 5 am to do that when it was less busy and it worked a bit better). When I booked it said, that booking will charge 50% prior, so I didn’t have so much money with me. However, the hotel didn’t do that and wanted all the money which meant I had to transfer more money to me - unnecessary stress. Also because they didn’t even try Apple Pay which I have been using without any problems in Mauritius for the last 3 weeks with it.
Okay location, good value for money overall. Restaurant, pool was good for around 40€ a night.

ItalyThere wasn't anything that we didn't like about the hotel and the staff. But a little parenthesis if you're two girls or a group of girls traveling just be careful when it's night when you're walking the street back to the hotel cause it's not well lit.
The hotel was cozy. Nothing fancy and extravagant but it gave the comfy vibe. The staff were really kind, helpful and really nice. The way they attended their guests gave a really nice friendly environment. It was affordable for a very last minute spontaneous trip.

United KingdomThe queen sized bed was a bit small for my son and myself, and the room itself is tiny. The parking is not within the compound, but opposite the hotel.
Best croissants I had for breakfast in Mauritius. We had requested for some space to host a small Rubiks cube competition in the hotel and the management consented as long as everybody bought something from the bar. That worked out well. It's the only hotel swimming pool I actually used during my stay on the island (I stayed in 6 different hotels / guest houses), and it was lovely. Small, but sufficed. Luc the owner/manager was helpful and professional. The rest of the staff were also all OK.

EstoniaBasically the only thing to be aware of is that it is also a bar which means that there is loud music till around 10PM on weekdays and over midnight on Saturday. But if you do not plan to sleep that early then it should not be a problem. They also have live music on some nights, so you are able to get a full package staying there.
OK location - not exactly in the center but still only 5-10 min walk from restaurants and the beach. Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Massage, barber and lots of other services are offered on site.

United KingdomNoisy like in a club. There is no hours when they turn the music down. They should play it until 10 or 11pm max. The bass is especially bad when sleeping in a room above the bar. The owner should try to sleep in the rooms while playing music every single day of a week. Sleeping with ear plugs doesn't help either. The doors are not insulating the noise from the corridor either.
I like the team working at the hotel. Location was good as well.
