We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

GermanyThe boat ride back to the airport wasn't a great experience - low ventilation and fully packed leading to a some people throwing up. I would have expected a better speed boat experience, like the one that we took to get to the island in the first place.
Excellent location, good diving school, incredible staff and really enjoyed the food! Really appreciate the staff and how friendly they were with our baby.

MaltaBeing charged full child price (2-11yrs) for my 2 year, 5 month old - who still sleeps in a cot in our room and does not eat much. Vegetarian options at buffet, although plenty, were not always great.
Variety of things to do. Beautiful pools and beaches. Excellent reef for snorkelling right from beach.

United StatesIt's quite expensive.
The staff is the best part, they are top-notch, always helpful and friendly. The buffet food was excellent in taste, freshness, quality, variety. The whole island was beautifully landscaped and maintained. The bars, pools, and beaches had great atmosphere. The dive facilities were outstanding. Diving was excellent with plenty of rays (including manta, eagle, sting), sharks, and reef fish. The buggy service around the island was great. The transport to and from Male was smooth and well organized. Lots of attention to detail such as making sure we had umbrellas when it rained. Again let me emphasize that the entire staff was outstanding, super-helpful and super-friendly. We were there for a week and would happily have stayed longer.

AustraliaWe loved our stay here. We had a bungalow over the water with a pool. It was magical. We were on the side with the reefs and it was a lot less windy than the other side. and we could just go down the stairs from our balcony and start snorkeling which was amazing. The buffet wasn't the greatest. One day, everything seemed to have tuna in it, the next was a different meat. The hot dishes, the salads etc. It would have been nice to have more fresh food especially in that heat. Getting around in buggies was fun.

AustriaWe pretty much loved everything, but many times we had to walk around the island and got confused about the layout, the sign posts could be more frequent, but you can use the app to help navigate.
Amazing resort, we loved it, and only have one other resort to compare too, but Kuramathi was really great! The food was excellent, plenty of choice and variety, and especially the pastries were fantastic. The cocktails were really great and there is a lot of choice included in All-Inclusive, which was not the case in a different resort where there were only a handful, but not at Kuramathi. Thanks to them I now have a new favorite cocktail (the Italian Colada). The staff was attentive and we never had to wait long for anything, taking drink orders as soon as we set down, never forgot an order, always driving us to where we wanted to go with the buggy, and always friendly and accommodating without it feeling forced (again, comparing to another resort). The house reef was amazing, snorkeling at the jetty, we saw a turtle, plenty of blacktip reef sharks, and even a manta ray once! The other places to snorkel are accessible by channel, which I would only recommend during tide, as they are super shallow. We only tried a few but the channel near Thundi reception had a few manta rays in the afternoon and a lot of exciting things to see! Beware the titan triggerfish though, there are plenty around but if you keep your distance they don't mind. Island Coffee bar makes great iced latte, but our favorite spot to hang out was the Laguna bar - it has a nice infinity pool, cocktails, and a nice spot to swim with a bit of coral to visit, and access to some channels leading to the reef. Even when the weather wasn't as great, it was nice to hang out in the lungers there or be in the pool. Evening entertainment was hit and miss but the resident band at the time (Antidote) was really great, amazing singers and great music selection. Kuramathi also has a great app and a map to guide you around, which can be very helpful.

GreeceVery difficult to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants - you need to book at least 3 or 4 days in advance to get the time slot that you want! Also we had been really looking forward to the film nights on the beach (having read about them on their website) but they're not very frequent and we missed them during our stay. And on the drinks packages - we went for the middle level of all-inclusive with 99% of drinks included but it works out pretty expensive doing it that way - unless you're planning on drinking a LOT every day you'd be better off paying as you go.
It's difficult to exaggerate what an absolutely amazing island this is. Our family had never been to the Maldives before and we weren't really sure what to expect, and it was better in every single way. The island is big enough to discover new things every day, even though the resort was full you could still find empty little beaches and quiet places to sit. At 2km long, you could walk the entire length and back through the forest as an afternoon stroll, the trees and plants are breathtaking. The beaches are pure white sand, the waters clear, and you can snorkel with turtles and sharks 10m from the shore. We booked 2 beach villas for our family and were so happy with our choice - even though the water villas (on stilts over the sea) are the famous pictures you see from the Maldives, we actually loved being surrounded by trees and greenery and the best beach on the island for sunbathing and swimming was 50m away. The villas were spacious, well-equipped and really comfortable. The outdoor shower was a nice touch, showering under lush forest and watching the fruit bats flying overhead was surreal! Also a veranda at the front with sunbeds was nice, so you didn't have to be at the beach if you didn't want to. As a family with 2 teenagers, there was always plenty to do and the island is of course safe enough that we could each do our own thing when we wanted and meet up afterwards! We used the dive centre (Rasdhoo Divers - amazing dive sites and VERY friendly and helpful staff, well organised and great equipment), did excursions, visited most of the bars and pool areas, enjoyed the DJ at the beach bar in the evening, used the gym, and there are watersports and tennis etc too. The a la carte restaurants are apparently exceptional, but we were really happy with our buffet restaurant, Haruge. There was always a huge variety of dishes at all 3 meals, all of a very high quality.
