Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe tiles around the pool and walkways were very slippery in the rain. The rooms were tastefully done but the toilet bowls were stained, one air con leaked water in the room, one bathroom basin didn't drain, WiFi was spotty and the in room phone struggled with connectivity.
Quaint. Looked nice. Had a slight steampunk vibe! Cool looking. Staff were really good. Maintenance crew was fast to respond. House keeping were very good and speedy. Very friendly people all through. Food was good. Portions good. It's one of the better accommodations in Lilongwe if not the whole of Malawi.

SwedenIt was rundown. Stained toilets, bathtub, sinks and wardrobe . The rooms were only cleaned once despite the sand and there was no turning around of the rooms . A lot of mosquito . The showers were blocked and had dirty water coming up , I had to calm them to fix it and I was late for my meeting because they took long to repair the shower. The phones was not working I hand to walk to the reception in the rain. They never helped with bringing my laguagge to my room and when checking out the staff just watched me carry my own bags . Totally no service. This was my fourth time to stay at the property, I used to adore it But now , Never Again . I checked out to look for something better .
Atmosphere only .

United KingdomI often find there is a mix up on reservations of room booked . I booked 2 months ago to get my favourite room but when I arrived, I had been allocated another room. Fortunately the room I wanted was available and they switched me to that room but I find that this problem often occurs so maybe a problem with correct bookings being sent through to the hotel . If my desired room had not been available, I would have been very disappointed so this needs addressing
Quiet and a peaceful atmosphere with friendly staff

South AfricaReservation for three rooms was quoted by booking.com at the total cost of US$461.00 for one night. However, upon checking in, was shocked to discover that the prices for the rooms had inexplicably changed. One room was quoted at an outrageous US$301, while the other two rooms were listed at US$191. This was particularly frustrating as it was noticed that the original rates booked through booking.com were still available in your system. The situation prolonged the check-in process by approximately 30 minutes, which is not the level of service expected from a reputable establishment like yours. Transparency and consistency in pricing are important aspects of customer satisfaction. The multitude of flies that were swarming in the restaurant area is a serious cause for concern. This not only detracted from the overall dining experience but also raised concerns about hygiene and food safety. A restaurant patron should expect a clean and pleasant environment, and unfortunately, the presence of these pests made it quite uncomfortable while dining. Finally, the exceptionally poor Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the premises, with the exception of the reception area, has not changed since the our last stay in July 2023. While it is understood that certain areas may have better signal strength, it was particularly frustrating to be unable to access a steady reliable wifi signal in the room and the restaurant. In today's digital age, the expectation for decent connectivity, especially in hospitality settings, is quite high. This made it difficult fto stay connected for work and personal matters during the stay.
The hotel's garden and swimming pool area is an enchanting oasis that beautifully blends nature and relaxation. The vibrant flowers and lush greenery create a serene atmosphere, while the sparkling blue pool invites guests to unwind and bask in the sun. It's a stunning retreat.

South AfricaDuring our stay, the breakfast service was excessively slow, causing us to almost miss our flight. Despite my requests to speed up the process, the staff appeared unconcerned, and I ended up having to eat my breakfast in the car. Additionally, the bathrooms could benefit from some upgrades, and the towels need replacement. Providing a smart TV in the rooms would also be a great addition.
The location is okay and the gardens.

United KingdomA bit pricey but maybe that keeps it exclusive. The stairs in the suites are dangerous with no hand rail so I always try to choose rooms on ground level
An excellent hotel with immaculate grounds, 2 swimming pools - a private one for guests. Efficient and friendly staff. Nice peaceful atmosphere and lovely big rooms uniquely decorated. Always one of my favourite places to start and end my trip to Malawi

KenyaThere are several things I did not like about Latitude. It came highly recommended but I would not come back here for several reasons as follows: 1. The check in process was slow and tedious and staff at the front desk were selective in how they served customers. As an African visiting Latitude for the first time I noticed that staff tended to defer quickly to their foreign guests much faster than they did to me. It took me forever to check out, the credit card machine was not working and connectivity was very slow! 2. Cleanliness - my room was not clean at all, the wooden floors felt dirty and when walking around with socks I gathered lots of dirt. My kitchen was flithy and bathroom, toilet bowl and sink had visible stains. That really put me off. 3. I know the hotel is big on its aesthetics, design and so on but it just did not seem practical for a hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi. The wooden floor in the upper level of my room creaked all the time and did not feel safe at all. The mosquito net on my bed was torn and shabby. For someone who was traveling on business, Latitude just felt off for me on so many levels. 4. It was raining on the afternoon that I got in and the floor just outside the reception area/dining room was super slippery staff had to mop it up feverishly to prevent what would have been a very bad fall for many a guest. Please change the tiles in that area and put something more practical. 5. As far as I am concerned I would rather stay elsewhere on my next business visit to Lilongwe, Latitude is just not it. It is my view highly overrated while really coming across as underwhelming.
The location is nice and quiet and I really enjoyed watching the guinea fowls walking around the property.

DenmarkAll right. Stayed less than 24 hours and had the following three incidents. 1) massive food poisoning because food (fried cauliflower perhaps) was re-heated. Could barely travel home next morning either of us. 2) pool was overflowing with leaves and no one using it. A pity since the pool looks great otherwise. I have a pool myself and sorry to say, but it’s a full time job to keep such a thing clean. 3) paid overprice for a driver to take us to the airport through the hotel (50 USD) but staff didn’t make sure he was assigned to us, so took another guest and left us 45 min. Delayed for the airport. That’s too much in less than 24 hours.
Stayed from 14:00 to 11:00 next morning. Staff was fine, design spectacular.

ThailandWe were very disappointed on our second stay. The hotel was fully booked and we got the worst room ys12 by the parking lot. The room is in need of renovation. Stairs to bedroom is unsecured and dangerous. The bath water drain was repaired after complaint but the railing was not. The room is a junior suite and very inconvenient. I will not book this hotel again if I get this room category.

AustraliaThey misplaced our booking the first day we arrived and we had to stay at another hotel as a result. Their breakfast isn’t that great as they have A la carte menu and you have to pay extra for any additional items instead of full buffet english menu.
The manager made the effort to book us another hotel the first night after they misplaced our booking.
