Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaStaying at Aldea Cobá was an absolute dream. Nestled in the heart of the jungle, this boutique hotel offers the perfect blend of luxury and nature. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated with local touches, and equipped with all the modern amenities you could need. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and enjoying coffee on the private terrace was pure magic. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable—always friendly, attentive, and ready with great local recommendations. The on-site restaurant serves delicious, authentic dishes, and the pool area is the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the nearby Cobá ruins. If you’re looking for a unique, peaceful getaway that immerses you in nature while offering top-notch service, Aldea Cobá is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back.

CanadaBeautiful facilities tucked in the jungle just a 3 minute drive from the Coba ruins. The villas are very nice, with private pools and gorgeous decorations. Nicest bathrooms ever!

SwitzerlandBreakfast was very limited. Toast, cheese, and fruit. Extra charge for coffee. Hot tub wasn’t especially hot.
Calm, quiet. Great staff. 5’ drive from Cobá - perfect for an early visit before it gets busy. Loved the jacuzzi and all the trees!

United KingdomThere was no restaurant so dinner was a drive away. Had to pay extra for coffee at breakfast - it was not included.
Well designed and very comfortable villa with its own private plunge pool on the edge of the jungle. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Simple breakfast included. Fantastic!

United StatesThe pool wasn't super clean. The breakfast was served late (supposedly opened ay 7.30, and the person showed up and started prepping like at 7.35) so if you want to make it to the ruins before 8AM is tight. The breakfast was also pretty lame, just a banana, 2 toasts with butter and not even coffee was included. I was charged like 80 pesos for a mediocre cappuccino that I ordered at breakfast.
Spatious clean room, with good working AC. Beautiful garden and friendly staff. 3 mins from town and the ruins

United KingdomThe walls are quite thin and so you can hear the neighbours.
The place is stunning. I could spend a long time here. The sauna and gym were a great bonus after weeks of tacos and tequila. A salt bath in the room was the last thing I expected on a backpackers budget but was a very welcome surprise. The restaurant next door is fantastic too, amazing value all round.

United StatesNo TV but that’s ok and think the hotel should put a small pool cleaning net to clean out the private pools. The bar was not operating but the hotel is small so could be due to low guest attendance.
Comfy bed, modern room, private pool, location in the jungle but right off the road. The bathroom was luxury and huge. Hotel within 5 mins from Coba ruins.

United KingdomIt’s right by the road which spoils the ‘jungle feel’. Breakfast is limited, you need to buy your coffee at the Starbucks counter within the hotel
Lush setting around the pool. It’s the best hotel in / near Coba and a very convenient place to stay on route to Chichen Itza/Tulum. Visit the Punta Laguna Nature Reserve!

BrazilThere was water under our bed when we got there, don’t know if there was a leak or something else. They call it continental breakfast but you actually get only two slices of bread, two slices of cheese, a banana, and an orange juice. Coffee was not included, we had to pay for it. The bikes were kind of old (rusted and breaks working badly and btw, the ruins don’t let you use the hotel bike on the inside and no one told us about it).
Our room was really big. The bed was great. The nature around was beautiful, and the pool was nice. Bathroom was super clean and spacious.

ItalyAttention to detail was a bit of a let down. It seemed like the property was a little ran down, and needed more maintenance than was given. There was a Nespresso machine in our room but no capsules were given, we had to ask for them each morning. The staff were nice but to my judgement lacked expertise.
The bed was very comfy, the private swimming pool was nice. Beautiful well kept garden, nice and kind staff.

After driving around Coba in the early morning we discovered the earliest breakfast spot was at Aldea Coba. It was delicious and the kind chef came out to give his regards.
