Honestly not much really. I mean the rooms aren't exactly luxurious but again, please look at the price and be aware that this place is a "hostel" don't expect a 5* hotel if you do not book one.

I had my own room for an insanely cheap price. I do not share the experience that the wifi wasn't great. It definitely worked well for me. The location is absolutely amazing. The Zocalo is literally a 3 min walk away and this place was far cheaper than what other people paid for dorms somewhere else and I had my own room and bathroom. Would definitely recommend staying there. It's also very quiet and newly renovated. The location is good and safe.

The location was very convenient to the Zócalo.It was super clean and the room was serviced when requested.The staff really made the place welcoming and I want to mention Gabriel in particular-friendly, helpful and always willing to assist.

Not a lot really!

The value for money was amazing! The room though Spartan was clean and comfortable. Being just a few minutes walk to the Cathedral square, the location could not be better. Free filter coffee, water and biscuits available permanently in the entrance lobby. Views from the roof terrace were beautiful.

a dog lives on the top floor and has a squeaky toy, have to sign a waiver saying you won’t drink alcohol in the building, wifi not amazing

have to sign a form saying you wont consume alcohol on the premises, cleaning only every 3 days, shower is too small and awkward, and leaks, questionable art in the public spaces

You will be locked out if you're not back before 10pm. So plan nightlife accordingly. If you are staying on the ground floor, you will hear everything - conversations at front desk.. but mostly those who got locked out walking by the room all hours of the night. The beds have a plastic cover for sanitation and made me sweat alot because of no ventilation!

The staff are so great. The terrace has great views. Could see fireworks across the city.

1: WiFi.. Although this is an issue with entire city, the most import part of my stay anywhere is WiFI capability, due to my work nature. I noticed due to placement of Wi-Fi modem, certain rooms lack efficient Wi-Fi network... And it would have been icing on the cake if there was WiFi availability on its rooftop terrace. 2: Would be nice if hotel had a mini kitchen room equipped with refrigerator and microwave. Stayed a similar hotel type in central Queretaro at same rate… so unless its more costlier to do here in Oaxaca.

The location and price are unbeatable in Oaxaca. It's a basic room, but that's all you really need . You are literally a short walk of 5min to the Zocalo. Great restaurants and street food in the area also.

Very spacious and super clean rooms. No fan, but the windows let in a cool breeze. Limited cooking/tea facilities- no fridge, only a coffee maker and a kettle. But free/unlimited green tea, coffee, and water! The staff are very helpful here. They ordered a taxi for me to the airport without hesitation. :)

This was my second time staying at Hostal Nordes (6 nights this time). The location of the hostel is great, just a few blocks from the Zocalo. It’s just outside the touristy area and I felt very safe walking the neighborhood at night. The staff was very helpful, especially since I don’t speak Spanish. Many of the staff don’t speak English but they were very patient with me, translating information and hiring taxis. It’s a pretty simple room and the common area feels like a place to just stop, get a coffee and prepare yourself as you leave for your adventures. But it’s quiet, and has all the basic necessities.

I liked everything.

Quiet hostel with extremely kind and helpful staff. The roof terrace was beautiful and peaceful and provided a lovely setting to sit and chill away from the bustle of Oaxaca city centre. The room was very spacious with comfy beds.
