Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineThe hostel feels a bit ran down, it feels in different small details
Nice location, good price, nice view from the kitchen terrace.

United KingdomLock on our room wasn't working properly so ended up locked out with staff trying to break in through the window! Got moved to another room which was overlooking the main road and VERY noisey from 6am till midnight. Don't stay in these rooms. Ants everywhere in our room. Cleaning staff very friendly and accommodating but not so the reception staff. So big that there is no vibe, soulless. Basic kitchen utensils, not enough cutlery etc. No microwave. Not always hot water for the showers 50/50 No alcohol rule on the premises. Unusual for a hostel.
Location is excellent. Complimentary coffee and biscuits on our floor, cleanliness of bathrooms. Very spacious common areas. Sunny roof top terrace.

New ZealandMayybe there needs to be a note for guests to empty the sink plug strainer after doing their dishes, rather than leaving their leftover food sitting in it (there are some very rude travelers/tourists). The hostel was very clean, spotless. And the staff were always lovely.
Very grateful that they gave us extra blankets because it was very cold at night. It has a fabulous location. And it great to have access to balconies and the rooftop terrace to watch the bustling city below.

New Zealand1. The kitchen gas is turned off at certain hours meaning you can’t cook - this isn’t fair when people are coming and going all day and are hungry. There isn’t a kettle so you can’t have hot water either 2. There are extremely thin blankets despite it being 5 degrees - we were sleeping fully clothed because it was so cold. For a place that cold there needs to be proper duvets. 3. The Wifi is great except doesn’t work on the top floor (where many rooms are) and the roof. This was really annoying for work!
We loved this place - amazing rooftop, excellent location, very spacious, and would have definitely scored it higher if not for 3 major things:

United StatesWiFi didn’t work that great from my room (I was on the top floor) and it was a bit cold at night. I think the rooms on the patio should come with extra blankets.
It is very affordable for your own room in Oaxaca, not too far from the historical center. The hostel is huge and there are a lot of open communal areas. Kitchen area is really nice and the WiFi is good in the coworking areas. Staff is nice and helpful as well.

AustriaWindows not able to open, door to balcony not able to open. You hear the street because windowglass is very thin. It is, like in many hostels, just a bare space to sleep.
It offers single rooms for cheap price! For short stay just enough. Very friendly staff!

SwitzerlandThe hostel is next to a noisy street, I could only sleep with earplugs. In the bathroom some benches or something to put your cloths on while showing would be very convenient.
The hostel is very spacious, lot of common rooms all over the hostel which means hard to find fellow travelers out of your room. A fantastic terrace with a incredible view all over the city. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Has soap and hand paper in the toilets. Towels, coffee and crackers are provided for free.

United StatesThe only bad thing about my stay was the refrigerator broke down while I was there and took at least 2-3 days to get fixed or replaced, so for the last few days of my stay I couldn't keep perishables, which meant I had to eat out more since I couldn't have leftovers for some of my meals. The kitchen in general wasn't that well-equipped, either - for example there was only one big knife and it was super dull.
The location is great, just a few blocks from two markets and the Zócalo and walking distance from everything, really. I had my own room for the same price I'd been paying for shared dorms in other hostels. Booking.com made it look like my room would have its own balcony, which wasn't the case, so that was disappointing, but there were windows that opened out to the interior courtyard, so at least I had some fresh air. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable I've had in a hostel, but it was good enough. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. The place is huge, with various seating areas in the courtyard, on the rooftop, and at least one designated co-working room. There are also a couple of workout rooms with basic gym equipment.

Good location - close to the main square, big market, a lot of street food around, cheap price for the night even in a solo room, friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomThe WiFi only works on the first floor. You can only use the kitchen in certain hours, they literally locked the hob so you can’t use it, which is quite annoying especially if you’re jet lagged / want to make a snack outside of typical eating hours.
The outdoor spaces are great, amazing views. Rooms were basic but fine for a couple of nights. Free water and coffee in the morning.

United StatesWas on the first level closer to side of street the second time I was there on a weekend. It was super noisy and also next to rec room with ping pong table, when in use, deafening. Requested another room and was accommodated when one was available.
good location, clean, spacious shared bathroom, coffee available all day. Room on 2nd level away from street was reasonably quiet where I stayed the first time.

AustraliaBreakfast included would have been a good option to have, even the most basic of breakfast.
Perfect location in Oaxaca Centro! Minutes walk from the Zocalo & 20 de Noviembre markets (where we spent most of our time eating). The hostel is huge so you can have plenty of privacy if it's what you're after but it also has great social spaces like a pool room, a few balcony area's and the rooftop space. The rooms are very basic, we had to ask for an extra blanket because the one we were provided left us freezing at night but the staff were more than happy to provide this. Free water & coffee is easily accessible which is a nice feature for guests. Great space for anyone working whilst travelling!

MexicoThe building is quite old, so IT DOESN'T HAVE A LIFT. I bring a huge suitcase of about 20kg, and it was a pain to get it to the 4th floor... And by the price, dont expect anything "fancy". The rooms are functional and safe. (:
Its centric, has everything you need nearby, and its at Oaxaca's heart. The room I had was good, and it cointained lockers in case I wanted to store anything (you need to bring your own padlock). They have security all the time, and it have many shared areas (kitchen, rooftop, resting area, etc).
