Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ColombiaGreat hostel in Oaxaca, located near to the main markets, the main square, as well as the spots for getting buses or collective taxis to visit the towns around the city. In this hostel you get to have your own private room with a desk, a chair and a mirror. Shared toilets are great as well and only used by few more people in the same complex. Free water and coffee is available for guests at all time. Plus, they give you a towel! Great price for an hotel like experience.

SwitzerlandCleanliness of the bathroom was poor. The staff was nice but not always responsive. No activities or any kind of gathering organised by the hostel (yoga, parties, tours). Rooms are very unwelcoming (it is just a bed in the middle of four walls).
Location not too far from the center. Rooftop is very nice. Large spaces. Beds are good as well.

United KingdomThe shower was a bit of a lottery in terms of finding a hot shower. As a rule of thumb it took us two or three attempts to find a shower with heat. The property has a no alcohol policy which I don’t understand. Regardless you always saw guests respectfully drinking without causing any issues.
This was a hostel that was really good value for money, we extended our stay by two nights. It was a surprisingly big building with a lot of space and a lot of levels and terraces. I doubt you’d be able to find better in Oaxaca. We loved the location and the views.

GermanyIt's quite big and while I was there, I didn't have many opportunities to socialize much. But maybe it depends on the people staying there at the time.
It's a very chill and central hostel. It's clean and has friendly staff.

United KingdomI have just arrived to oaxaca for the first time and I booked a single room in this hotel after 8 hours travelling from Veracruz. Was the big mistake. The price was 200 pesos(low season)but the room was very small 4m2 in the top floor and without fan or aircon. The problem were the mosquitos, I couldn’t sleep whole night from 11pm to 7 in the morning, mosquitos everywhere even with the door and window closed they appeared, was horrible! Even another people had the same problem, the hotel couldn’t provide a fan, that was very bad. How people can sleep in these conditions, when the city is very hot and humid most of the time and has a lot of mosquitos. Better pay 50 or 100 pesos more and staying in another place with ventilation, plenty hotels and hostels around.
Cozy kitchen and terrace/roof top!Few common areas, free coffee and biscuits.

Australia- Any noise in the hostel echos through the building, so if anyone comes in late making noise you will absolutely be woken up. - Hot water works sporadically. We had hot water 2 out of 4 showers. Plus the double rooms have one toilet/shower for 8 people which is a bit of a stretch. - The wifi is average at best, especially in the rooms. It’s okay if you’re in the common area, but only when there’s not many people on it.
- Great location, close to the centre and sights. - Bathrooms very clean.
