Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

EgyptMissing at least a basic breakfast to start our day ( as long as there is a bar at reception )
You are right on the beach, when you sleep : you are watching the ocean from your MANY windows , and you hear the orchestra of its waves all night long. . It is an amazing experience you will never find it in any Zipolite front-beach hotel or any other place in the world. The.Place is rural ,basic ,all wood & plants but very convenient as you feel you are part of the Nature. You can go all naked all day on the beach then you go to bed naked all nigh as well. Location is literally 1 minute from main Roca Blanca road , 20 min. from playa del amor. .Staff is very decent & cooperative ،،: " Alex. , Antonio & Roy " always go the extra mile to help guests.. Bed is super comfy with huge net ( though no mosquitos or insects ) !! Whole place is spotlessly clean.

CanadaIt was just a bit too rustic for me. The worst thing was the very loud bar right beside my room. It made it impossible to sleep until they closed.
The location on the beach was great, especially for the price. It was actually better than I expected based on previous reviews. They did provide towels and there was soap in the shared showers. The mosquito net looked brand new.

AustraliaThe mosquito net in the room I stayed was very worn, had some holes and obvious mould on it. I am glad I did not stay another night with this net (only 1 night). There is sand in front of 4 of the cabana's entry door, makes it difficult to avoid. I wish they constructed a boardwalk or some cover so that you can at least arrive to your room from a clean shower without re-sanding your feet again. The bathrooms were OK - there is only 1 sink and it is not in a private place, and the tap is a bit wonky, nowhere to put any of your accessories except on the sandy ground. There is a power point in the room, but only one, so if you wish to use the Fan and charge phone at the same time you cannot. All of these things were a bit inconvenient and regrettable given the price, but I survived OK and had a good time. I recommend the business owner make some improvements: replace all worn mosquito nets, construct a wooden walk around the cabana entry doors, install a new bathroom vanity.
Right on the beach and good shade cover for the lounge chairs and hammocks. WiFi was reasonable. Staff were good onda and friendly.

United KingdomThe beachfront is noisy at nighttime, but that is Mexico!
Lots of reviews made it sound like the rooms are dirty, sandy etc - what do you expect? You're in a beach hut right on the sea! Embrace the chat with the guys that work there, enjoy the amazing sea front hammocks. The owner was also kind enough to give us a private bathroom upgrade as the room was available. Your room will get sandy, you will get sweaty, you'll love the cold shower. Our mosquito net had no holes in it. You can also go naked anywhere on the beach or the hotel (most don't), but no one minds! Zipolite was a really relaxing part of our holiday.

MexicoWould love to see the bathrooms improve just a little bit, maybe painting the walls or separating the shower from the toilet. Water from the shower gets everywhere and it gives me the ick to step in the bathroom like that.
Amazing and friendly staff, unbeatable location and definitely your go to option if you want value for your money.

MexicoA bigger or greater fan in the room would have been desirable, due there are no windows in the room we didn´t want to open the windows wood doors while we were sleeping.
The view from our room was incredible, it was nice to have beach chairs and hamacas available from the guests. It was great to have a mosquito net for the bed.

Perfect location! Cannot get a better location in Zipolite than Ballelita. The price was also very cheap and great value for money. Alex (the owner) and the guys are very friendly and make you feel welcome. We also loved our room over looking the beach.

FranceThe bedding was a bit threadbare and not the best quality. Would be better to have cushions for the sunbeds.
The staff were all very sweet and made the best margaritas in zipolite ;) I loved being right on the beach and in the centre of town. The cabana with sea view and balcony was cute, peaceful. I felt very relaxed. Hammocks in the shade outside. There was a powerful fan in the room which was a bit loud but worked well in the humidity

CanadaWifi did not work well. It was not only in the hotel but in the whole village, I guess this is common in Zipolite
Ballelita is very close to the main street with all the restaurants, and my “room” not very expensive. I was as shown in the photos, no surprise on that end, the room was small, but it was expected! The staff was very welcoming !!

Costa RicaThe room didn't have enough hooks on the walls to hang my wet clothes, but there were a couple so that's a very minor complaint.
The location was perfect, just a few steps from the popular area of town, right on the beach. Super chill vibe, chairs and hammocks under a bit of shade, guests who just want to chill. Bar is only open till 7pm, so no rowdy late-night stuff.

FinlandThe basic rooms are VERY basic. No privacy as walls made of wood with gaps between. Fan was loud and we weren't able to change the setting! We moved to the upstairs room which was nicer, however there was a horrible smell every now and then from the drains in the bathroom. Fan was quieter and adjustable. Didn't get to see imside new rooms at the front but they looked nice.

United StatesWhat I am about to say did not bother me at all. I like BASIC and that is what you get. Just four walls and a bed with not much else in the way of furniture. The linens and towels are minimal but just fine. They provide no toiletries and there is no room safe.
The location is perfect with direct beach access and a few steps to the the main street (Adoquin) where most of the bars and restaurants are.

NetherlandsThe could rent out towels for not every traveller brings one. Lighting somehow is often white color with hostels. It would be more relaxed if they change it to yellow.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was comfortable as well. The location is near perfect as it is right on the sea but also 50 meters from a lively street with good bars and restaurants! I'd recommend staying here if you appreciate these things. Also the bed has a net for against musquito's which is a nice plus.

MexicoThe water that was running in the common showers and sink tasted like salt, and it was definitely not clean. Pretty sure I got a stomach infection for brushing my teeth with it. I don't know where they get their water, but it shouldnt be salty. Also the room we got was claustrophobic to say the least, it didnt even have a proper floor, half of it was just a sandy mess with some broken tiles on top. The walls were filthy, I doubt theyve ever been cleaned. The bed and pillows were just nasty.
Location is its best feature.

AustraliaThe wifi was very spotty. Luckily there's a great co-working space less than a 10 min walk away. Also some mosquitoes about, but if you're right on the beach, the breeze was normally strong enough to keep them away. No kitchen facilities.
