United StatesConcierge service is lacking. When I asked about shows, entertainment, restaurant, spa, I was directed to the “watch the tv”. It was hard to find information. I relied on a public Facebook group for most of the info I needed. There were also a few parties in our group that had to stay in other resorts due to them overbooking. We had a group of nearly 70 for a wedding and it seemed the resort didn’t care that groups of our family and friends were separated. They called it an upgrade even though it was a big inconvenience due to the distance between resorts. Booking excursions through the resort is probably not your best option. You can get a taxi or shuttle to most places nearby and explore on your own. Although, the catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres was worth it!
I liked the beaches and grounds. Vegetarian options at cafe were also great. The hydrotherapy spa was excellent!

The service was excellent. The a la cart dinners were amazing, way better than I was expecting. Plenty of different food options across the property we were really happy with. I’m happy we didn’t listen to people whining about the buffets online.

Hong KongStaff at water activities is rude. Since many years, this has been the problem of Barcelo. People book this hotel as it markets as pary of its value proposition that people can do for instance catamaran. However, when tryong to do this staff is arrogant and makes it complicated and even asking for money.

United StatesWe stayed 6 days at this resort and the housekeeper did not bring us clean towels until the end of the trip. The sheets and bedding were stained and the room was not only what we paid for but it was extremely cold and we were not able to turn up the a/c.
The food was decent and the staff was nice. The scenery was amazing.
