Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaAmazing hostel to relax before/after your visit to the ruins. The facilities are amazing. The dorm only has one fan (the one on the ceiling). It was not super hot at night but during the day impossible to stay in the room. You can still chill by the pool! Only smoking area is in the camping zone - be aware of ants! They bit me brutally 😅 but, I saw monkeys, birds, butterflies, a very friendly iguana etc.

New ZealandPros: Great pool, lots of wildlife to observe, very close to the ruins and National park Cons: If you are cooking your own food, the fridge is very full so you cannot fit much. The kitchen is small and simple. It’s still do-able but just be aware.

Germany4-bed dorms do feel quite small when full and the restaurant does not offer the best food - all in all very small issues when traveling solo.
The location was great, in the middle of the jungle while halfway between Palenque town and the ruins. The place itself looks like fairytale, especially at night with little bridges over the water and the cute lights all around the cabañas.

New ZealandRestaurant was quite expensive with a limited menu to cater for guests however there was a larger place across the road which had a large menu and cheap beers
Nice jungle experience right outside the main entrance to the ruins. 25 peso shuttle to the ruins, 15 minute walk back. As an aside thought Calakmul was much better than Palenque and more like the impressive Tikal.

United KingdomThe room was on the smaller side but that’s OK for a few days, there were no smaller/bedside lamps so had to have the main lights on all the time. No fault of the property but guests should know there isn’t a grocery store close by so stock up beforehand. They do provide water but it isn’t the coldest. Walls are a tad thin.
The staff were so lovely & helpful. Bed was absolutely huge. Location for the archaeological park is great. Lovely hammock on our terrace

United StatesIt would be nice if the restaurant was better. The food was ok but not amazing. I also think it would be better if drinking water was provided free of charge.
I loved staying in the jungle. I woke one morning and sat by the pool and watched howler monkeys in the trees just a few yards away. The entrance to the national park where the Palenque ruins are located is right next door. The location to buy tickets to Palenque ruins and catch a shuttle are across the street. The grounds of Kin Balam are very tranquil. There are hammocks to lounge in and a nice little pool to cool off in when it gets hot. While the rooms are small they are comfortable. The bed was very nice.

CanadaThe swimming pool should be cleaned more often of falling debris. The cabañas are a bit cramped, a regular suitcase hardly fits in the lockers. There are little annoyances such as the WiFi password changing every 48 hours, and the 4 kg minimum weight in order to use the washer and dryer. Very inconvenient if you are a solo traveller carrying a total of 3.5 kg!
Beautiful natural setting, halfway between the town of Palenque and the Mayan ruins. You can walk to the ruins if you want to. The staff is very helpful, and the tours sold at the entrance are worth every penny. Lots of available hammocks in the common spaces. A very good "glamping" experience overall.

United KingdomWe stayed in one of the bigger cabins but still very small. The bathroom door does not fit the frame and thus combined with the fact that the sink is in the bedroom makes it difficult to share a room. We were asked to give our passport as guarantee for a hair dryer, I thought this was a bit heavy handed,
It is a very romantic location in the jungle. There are birds and beautiful nature. The restaurant had simple but very tasty food , very reasonably priced. Staff were all extremely nice and helpful

NetherlandsWe didn’t have airco and it’s super humid / hot. The room has a lot of windows, so there is not a lot of privacy.
Great location in the jungle and across the ticket office for the maya ruins. The town of Palenque is not super exciting and there are enough nice restaurants around. It’s a big set up and looks great. the girls from the reception are a joy and super helpful.

NetherlandsWouldn’t recommend eating at the restaurant as me and my boyfriend both got food poisoning there.
The hotel is next to the entrance of the ruins of Palenque. Also the outside area is very nice and relaxing with the pool and the hammocks. The staff of the hotel is very friendly!

United KingdomNot against the hotel at all but a warning to people going that it is a bit out of the town so consider a taxi. We walked and was difficult with our rucksacks!
Loved it here and ended up staying an extra night! Was slightly more than what we had been paying after 3 months of travelling but worth it for a few days of chill. Did nothing but lay by the lovely pool and did the short walk down to the waterfall. Also got massages done at the spa which had amazing views. Would recommend and go again

United KingdomThe 4 bed dorm cabins are very tight on space the room is 3m by 4m (3 of us were family if we'd all been strangers it would have been uncomfortable) The food in the restaurant is not great and the shared kitchen is tiny and poorly equipped.
The outside areas are beautifully designed and feel like a luxury hotel, fellow guests are friendly and the staff are helpful. We would definitely return but would choose a different room.

NetherlandsThis place is so good I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The staff is really friendly, the food in the restaurant is good and the location is incredible. You’re in the middle of the jungle, which you can tell by the beautiful nature and all the wild animals walking by. You have collectivo’s going to the city centre until 6 pm and after that you can easily take a taxi. The room is also very comfortable and comes with a nice patio to relax. I can highly recommend this place!
