Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

CanadaThe hotel looks nice and is clean. The room was excellent and upgrading to the king room was a good choice for the table and the fridge and the extra space. The bed was hard, though I have yet to find a soft bed in Mexico! The pool is refreshing and the beach out front (although it has weird concrete, old wood posts, and barriers) is beautiful! There was no seaweed collecting on the beach out front which was a plus. Walking down the beach into the downtown area is easy (though at high tide there is one stretch that gets really clogged up with seaweed and I would recommend walking the road for that part). The beach loungers were great and the umbrellas provided nice shade. Unfortunately the music starts early and doesn’t stop until 10pm. Some days it was a manageable volume level and other days it was so loud that I was hard to have a conversation. Sometimes it was EDM and sometimes it was American pop or Latino music (which is preferred since it is Mexico). All of the hotels seem to do this so finding quiet is HARD. We would walk around the point towards Punta Cocos to find some shady spots to relax away from the pumping music. Would not really recommend that food at the hotel as it is very expensive and not very Mexican. We ate the breakfast, which was tasty and sometimes added eggs for 100 pesos. The last 3 days they changed the menu and offered the brunch special as the free breakfast which included an omelette or scrambled eggs with 2 ingredients. That was a welcome change! The staff at breakfast were generally good, though you often had to ask directly for what you wanted. They are not overly friendly and don’t exactly go out of their way to help you. I think this is a Holbox thing though from what we experienced outside of the hotel. We had an issue with our hotel room being right next to the reception area. It was okay during the weekdays when we arrived but on the weekend it was very loud and busy.

DenmarkThe air conditioning was not working for the first 2 days of our stay, until someone finally came and fixed it. One night we had no water. The pool was not the cleanest, and some of the staff seemed a bit angry. Alberto was though - the kindest off the staff, also the receptionists were super nice
The hotel has nice and clean rooms. The food was really good (the included breakfast was the same everyday). The beach was really nice

United KingdomCan’t really complain, would have been nice if there was an egg included but not essential!
Breakfast was very good. Portion size was great for me, nice fresh fruit salad and yoghurt perfect to start the day in a warm climate. Coffee included in the free breakfast and there is also coffee in the room.

CanadaThere were a ton of wasps at breakfast. I am not scared of wasps, but I have never seen so many and we needed to always cover our food with napkins and swat them away nonstop. Restaurant staff did their best, but this should be addressed by management. The room was a bit small but good for what we needed. The air didn't move much and there weren't many hooks so drying was a challenge (we were on first floor so no railings).
Great spot on the beach. It is outside of the town but there are a few restaurants around and it remains surrounded by other hotels and houses - you will likely end up walking lots or taking taxis, but we enjoyed the walk! The room was basic but comfortable and clean. AC was great. Breakfast was included which was nice and staff was kind. Beach chairs also included. Rooftop pool and main pool were clean and nice. All around very relaxing and calm compared to the town.

AustraliaSo many sand flies! We received hundreds of bites. I wish Mexico lit citronella candles. The wait staff at the beach club sometimes forgot to bring you your drinks orders.
Having a pool and the beach was great. Beach club was great for sunsets. Rooms were neat, tidy and clean. In 8 weeks of traveling it was the best/most powerful hairdryer I have come across. The walk into town is about 15mins, some roads were flooded but you can either walk along the beach or there are dry paths which have been forged by other tourists. Despite some reviews on google about the beach club being super noisy, late into the night, the music stopped by about 10pm.

DenmarkI would not call it included breakfast. I few pieces of dry bread a little marmalade and a few pieces of fruit is more a snack. The pizza guy was rude and on his phone at the restaurant/ rooftop. Refused to communicate and just acted like he did not care about his job. Pizza was good though. And also the hotel lacks vegan options.
Just really overall nice hotel and location. Staff very friendly. Maybe a bit more service oriented by the the beach club would be nice. They werent really attending unless we walked up to the bar. But nice and friendly.

United KingdomRooms are on the smaller side for the price in comparison to other places we have stayed in Mexico.
The hotel was well situated at beach front, although a walk into the centre (20 mins along the beach as the roads were flooded). Breakfast was great and staff really helpful and friendly.

AustraliaWait staff were very grumpy. Made you feel a bit awkward for asking for things. Needs a kettle in room for tea drinkers. Flooded streets in main town at wet season were a bit annoying as couldnt walk on them, stick to walking on the beach and take plastic sandles. Not the property’s fault though. Soft bed unless you are a small child is quite small and uncomfy for an adult.
Gorgeous little beach front stay. Well kept place, nice pool. In wet season like 20 min walk along the beach to main town. Restaurants and bars along the way. Reception staff were super helpful. Room was lovely.

Hong KongIt’s a little further out than other places and the roads are not great and become easily flooded. We did arrive after hurricane Beryl but I imagine after heavy rains the roads are equally as difficult. Taxi rides were between MXN 200-350 from town. See above for positives regarding location. I picked this hotel as I planned to walk to Punta cocos to see the bioluminescence as it’s a less light polluted part of the island. Due to the rain this couldn’t happen.
The beach in front of the hotel is actually pretty decent compared to other parts of the island where there was a build up of rotting seaweed and a bad smell. The hotel has loungers out for guest to enjoy and the swimming pool, although small, is great to cool off if you prefer not to swim in the sea. The breakfast included a continental which has some yogurt/muesli, a pastry, toast and jam and fruit. For an additional MXN 100 you could add on a cooked breakfast option. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms clean. The property is only a 15 min walk along the beach to the town centre.

South AfricaThere was building work going on at the rooftop pool the whole 5 days we were there. The rooftop pool was closed and the banging noises made siestas difficult! We would have appreciated knowing about the building work when we booked as it definitely put a dampener on our stay.

GermanyThe hotel is about a 20 min walk from Centro. The area is a tad secluded but I was aware of it and didn’t mind the daily walk. The wifi is super spotty, actually it is better on the beach than in the room. I was not able to watch anything on TV, which wasn’t too bad because I didn’t come to Mexico to watch series. Unfortunately my room didn’t come with a mini fridge, which kinda sucked as the drinking water that was provided was always lukewarm. The safe was super tricky and never worked for me on the first or second try.
The private beach area was superb. Loungers and towels were free. The continental breakfast was great, smaller portions but sufficient for me. The property was clean, so were the towels and sheets. Cute decorations all around. AC worked great. The rooftop pool was amazing for watching the picturesque sunsets. The staff at the reception was nice and accommodating, even though not everyone spoke English. The restaurant staff was extremely kind and didn’t pester anyone about ordering anything at the beach.

MexicoThere are a lot of fixing going on right now, a wooden floor at the beach the tools handled use petrol, the odor is strong, noise as well. The staff lack of trainig is obvious, the use of diverse playlist can go from rave feeling to rancheras. The moment i stay they were trying the new generator, horay since the beautiful Holbox island suffers from electricity runaways. Yet at the beach was the deck bulding while no internet. Leaving the guest on a second plan, while I do believe we should be at first.
It’s well located and recently opened

AustraliaThe hotel is not close to the Main Street and the streets around Holbox floods very easily, so it was a little tricky to walk from the hotel to the Main Street and if you walk along the beach the tide comes in so you will likely be walking back in the sea.
Being right on the beach is amazing! The beach club is very nice and staff and very attentive. The room had a very nice beach vibe.
