Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt could be a great hostel, but it's kinda meh because rules, no alcohol and no shade on the roof. I think maybe the town doesn't like hostels and has clamped down on them at some point. Still, it's the only one portside. Nice kitchen.

CanadaThe sheets were cheap and pulled off the bed constantly. It got pretty frustrating. This was also the only place in mexico I encountered a cockroach. Take that as you will. I don't think that makes this place dirty, I think they just live there.
The location was fantastic!

GermanyThe communication beforehand was sometimes a bit difficult. We booked this accomodation for the specific reason that it said online that they have airport transfer. This was important to us, because we arrived late on new years eve and thought it might be a struggle to get somewhere otherwise. The hotel itself does not have transfer! It cooperates with another company for that and if they have no availability, you're out of luck - which was the case for us. So after ~24 h of travel we were ripped off by the (official) taxis at the airport, had to take a collectivo and another taxi to arrive at the hotel well after midnight, having lost ~ 130€ on the way.
Nice common areas with roof top, free drinking water. Staff was friendly and helpful.

IrelandThere wasn’t any drinking water provided. This was a little surprising as any hostel I’ve stayed in will supply that.
It’s a cool space with a very central location. There was a great synergy created with all the travellers. It attracts a lovely people.

United StatesThe desk is not manned 24 hrs, some guy forgot his key was too drunk and banged on the door for over an hour from 5am. Not the hostels fault, there are idiots everywhere in the world. Mosquitos everywhere. Location is across from jungle and a few blocks from ocean so only way to cool the property is all windows open in day with breeze, then at 9 on goes the bunk dorm rooms AC and close the door! If you are in the female dorm small room you Could, i fyou wanted to... buy a mosquito killer machine from the grocery to blast the room at night, but be aware that the door to the room is kept open to try to keep airflow through the property all day.
At present this hostel works out to about 17USD a night. In MX, mosquitos are everywhere, this hostel provides AC in the room at night, this keeps the mosquitos down at night, otherwise they are everywhere and it is advisable to make sure you have serious mosquito liquid for your skin, use it as soon as you get up, on any exposed skin and do it again after you shower or enter the ocean. The hostel has a full kitchen with stove, pans, plates, a large fridge, but no microwave. NO Tv. A nice book shelf with books. Nice rooftop space but its closed after 9pm. Power outages are common in Puerto Morelos. They do have bicycles for rent. it is 4 flights of stairs to reception. This is the only hostel that is Port side, otherwise it is a 2 mile road across to the Colonia Town for any other hostel style accomodation. There is an excellent Grocery nearby. There are also petite built in lockers with keys big enough for personal bits and laptop for each bunk.

FranceThe AC only works at night which they mention but it does get quite hot in the room. The lobby and the dorm room are at the top of some very steep stairs.
Very friendly staff with very good advice. The value is very good for the location, you can get to the beach on foot in 3 minutes and the supermarket is also nearby. The common area is very nice and there is plenty of space to store our food.

Trinidad and TobagoI think the shower space could be a little bigger and should have some sort of bench to place clothes.
The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Everyone was very honest, which provided a carefree environment. The hostel was generally orderly and no loud music was played at night or anytime. The rooftop offered a unique environment to absorb the fresh air and to unwind. The staff was very friendly and quick to assist.

United StatesPLEASE TAKE ALL OF THIS AS A HEADS UP NOT A DISCOURAGEMENT! Second time staying. 1: Had a slightly weird interaction at check-in when I said that I needed to hang on to my cash and didn't want to make a trip to the ATM I was told that I might as well pay the hostel in cash (their "discount" was 5%) and hit the ATM after because I was going to get a 15% surcharge every time I use a credit card in any shop in town. This was clarified to me at the superchedruai by the slightly shocked manager that in fact, there is just simply a sales tax ( completely fair in a tourist economy). At no point in my visit did anybody offer me a discount to not use my credit card. Anywhere. I am not blaming the person at check-in, I know enough to know this is usually management driven. 2: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. the rooms are fairly cramped, and bunks are rickety and hard . The housekeeping closet was in the room, so starting before 7am, the bedroom you are sleeping in becomes an active workspace (non-stop) for the entire hostel. Great housekeeping staff (hi, guys!) not their fault, but it was kinda annoying, and you should be prepared for this. 3: BE AWARE OF THE NO ALCOHOL POLICY. Everyone seems onboard. A lot of people made their choice to stay here based on this, but you need to pay attention to this ahead of time if you like a glass of wine with your sunset or to enjoy while cooking.. 4: Another heads up if you are new to Mexico and just throwing a dart at the map, Puerto Morelos is not a unique little Mexican town. It is mellow and close to the Cancun airport and should be used as such. Be prepared to bump elbows with more sunburned Canadians than Mexicans. It's a great place to get your snorkeling in or do a little scuba class just to get certified and to have a few drinks and watch the sunset. Great jumping point but not a place to explore real mexico. It is what it is.
1: Location! Superb, 2 blocks to the beach, right in the center of very chill Puerto. 2: Great views! ( like seriously great views) from the kitchen/lounge. Cool rooftop terrace with yoga and a (small) pool, with amazing views. 3: Great vibe! . Mostly solo travelers of all ages, which is a great demographic for the classic hostel vibe. Everybody's talking and sharing their food and stories. Very quiet, peaceful and respectful. Great spot overall. Second time staying. Have made many friends that have stayed in touch with here. 4: sweet, lovely staff, constantly cleaning, very Interactive and friendly 5: generous hot water and night time AC
