Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Doors in shared men's bathroom need attention as do curtains around beds.

The room lock could be more secure. The front door lock could be opened by anyone, they should fix the door so It cannot be. The younger female volunteer don’t think that the front door lock is important. The breakfast is very basic but good enough. There isn’t anywhere to relax outside in the sun, don’t expect that, you have to go to the beach.
Such a nice friendly hostel in a great location. The staff, especially Dani, looks after the hostel and the guests like it is her own home. She is always caring for the guests, keeping things clean and attending to needs. The hostel is quiet and the private room I had was comfortable and clean, the bed was comfortable and plenty of space for my belongings. Access to tea and coffee all day, and a nice area to have breakfast and cook. They have non dairy milk which is important for me. It’s a short walk to the ultramar ferry port and the beaches. It’s not a party hostel, it’s nice and quiet.

Idiots knocking on the door who forgot their keys at 3 am.
Great friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding location . Nice room with a very comfortable bed .I will definitely stay here when I enjoy this island again!!

The washrooms got nersty in the morning and one of the toilets was often clogged after the morning rush (delicate plumbing). Guests were good about not flushing their paper (common on the island), but staff could have been more diligent about emptying the waste baskets.
Lovely staff, excellent location, very safe and quiet for sleeping. Can't beat the price It's a small hostel and we had a lovely time

- Obviously slightly more pricey than a normal hostel because it’s in Isla Mujeres - the bathroom could have been cleaner and one of the toilets was often blocked - Only the top bunks have privacy curtains, not necessarily an issue for everyone but worth mentioning
- Great location a 5 minute walk from the ferry port and close to lots of local beaches - Tidy rooms and comfortable beds - Such kind and helpful staff - particularly Dani and Wen! - Delicious breakfast every day with fresh fruit and avocado

Beds uncomfortable and no privacy curtain on bottom bunks, only the top ones. Showers take ages to warm up.
Great location. Good value for money if you're on a budget. Breakfast OK. Toast, cream cheese, avocado, banana, apple and coffee or tea. Quick to respond on WhatsApp

There is no possibility of doing some basic laundry.
Lovely little hostel, right in the centre and close to all amenities. Very friendly staff who makes you feel welcome and are always ready to help. The hostel is tastefully decorated and kept spotless by the staff.

Facilities are Kind of old and no daylight in the room. As we had a lot of rain the room is not really made for days like that. And also not a lot of other possibilities to chill during a rainy day. Also the luggage storing after check out for 100 pesos is kind of expensive. So for this price I expected more

No source of proteins in the breakfast
Close to the fairy and the beaches, you can regulate the temperature in the shared rooms by yourself, beds were pretty comfortable, breakfast was included

A little more space in the rooms for luggage and other things. Better shower pressure would be nice also.
The staff were great, very friendly and professional. The coffee and breakfast was great. I liked that there was a place outside to hang wet clothes. I liked the air conditioning and fan in rooms. I also liked that you can use the kitchen.

Not much hang out space but you’re close to the beach so it doesn’t really matter!
Staff were lovely, it’s well located in town and easy to find. Rooms were comfortable.

It is a very basic hostel, it just meets your basic needs and that’s about it. Everything felt small but functional. Overpriced for a basic hostel but that seems to be the case for everything on Isla Mujeres. No common area to hang in besides the kitchen so depending on the weather you’ll spend more time in your dorm.
Excellent location close to the Main Street (but not on it!) and close to both beaches. Staff was great. Breakfast was included and it was ok. Small hostel so easy to meet people. Good wifi.

Mattress is larger than actual bed, very soft & large dip in middle. Could use replacing. A hook or such needed to hang towels. Lighting incense made a strong smell in the small areas.
Location very good, breakfast made & is adequate to start a day.
