Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesDistance (driving times) to some sites we wanted to visit was longer than we expected. Not a problem. We had more beach time.
There is no hotel here, just 9 guest rooms arranged on a lovely, private beach-front property inside the Kian Sa'an Biosphere Reserve! You wake up hearing the sea. You go to sleep hearing the sea. The most difficult decision you'll make every day is what to have for your next meal. The food was wonderful!

MexicoThe staff was rather nice and friendly apart from one person (the older guy) who was totally unfriendly during our stay, too bad he was the one attending us most of the time ☹️ Also the common areas could be much more welcoming with more maintenance, there is a bit of neglect which is not acceptable given the price!
Very good location in Tulum Beach, perfect to disconnect and relax. Comfortable room. Delicious food.

Our stay at Libelula felt like we were visiting friends. Our room was located at the beach with a nice terrace and a great view. You’re in the middle of the nature at a very private beach since there are obly 9 rooms and no hotels next to Libelula. During the day the beach bar is open with great music. The food was perfect and also the drinks we’re great. We‘re definetely coming back! The hospitality was outstanding. Special thanks to Jorge and Miguel for being such great hosts and lovable guys. We already miss you guys and Libelula!

United KingdomNothing - I loved it all.
From the moment I arrived at Libelula I was made to feel like one of the family. This is a small and intimate resort where the staff cannot do enough for you. My room was a "Sky Cabana" which was surrounded by trees with the private beach just a few metres away. The food is amazing, all organic and local, the fish dishes are to die for! My only regret is that I didn't book this place for longer.

United StatesThe road access to the hotel is a bit bumpy but a small price to pay considering the Beaty of nature preserve where property is located at.
Libelula is definitely one of the properties that preserved local Tulum vibe and culture, since many hotels have turned into commercial money machines. Pristine beach and access to the ocean. Great food and beverages! They handled special event with music and meditation on Saturday night and it was truly transcendental! But the highlight was people that manage this place, very warm and kind. I happened to injure my ankle and showed outmost care.

United KingdomWe loved everything about the property. But those booking should take into account that although it’s walking distance to a some of the best restaurants, you will probably want to take a taxi if aiming for the north side of the strip or Tulum Central. This place is best enjoyed as a break from it all. Take a few days off from the hustle and bustle, hunker down and chill in what was genuine paradise.
We’ve travelled a lot and can safely say that this place is a rare find. The location is perfect- by far the best spot on the beach in the whole of Tulum. The sand is pristine. There is nothing to the right of you and looks like there is nothing to the left. But with a medium walk along the beach you can get to the restaurants and clubs. Saying that, you probably won’t want to leave. Armando, Jorge, Sam and Mansour make you feel absolutely at home. Their recommendations are always on point. I could write a whole paragraph about the food and drinks themselves but will just say: yucatan eggs and cochinta tacos. With only 9 properties on site, you feel like you’ve entered your own commune. If you prefer to be a recluse, take a few drinks down to the beach at night and just stare at the night sky. We stayed in the sea view master room and its was perfect. Tastefully decorated, private and (best to last) with a view/sound of the sea. There are lots of little touches that make you feel at home: natural toiletries in the shower, a little bowl of water by the front of your door to wash sand off your feet and soft linen on the bed.

United StatesOverall, our stay was great. Some things that could have made it better would be hot water for the showers (there are small electric on-demand water heaters you can plumb in at the shower), but we managed to get used to the slightly chilly showers after the beach. We also would have liked an in-room electric kettle and coffee machine so that we could make tea or coffee in our room, especially as we like to drink herbal tea before bed and we left early one morning before 7 AM to drive to Chitzin Itza, and it would have been nice to have a cup of coffee before we left. Finally, because you are basically sleeping under heavy canvas, you can hear everything, including the slight hum of the generator, the wildlife, and others talking. We knew this might bother us, so we brought our white noise machine, and we slept great with it on. But make no mistake, this was a great place.
Great boutique hotel that markets itself as glamping, but make no mistake, this is very nice glamping. Only around ten spacious bungalows with comfortable beds, bathrooms, fans, and A/C. A great kitchen that makes everything to order with lots of fresh produce. An excellent bar, and most of all, a picturesque beach that is clean and great to swim in. We highly recommend staying here! It's about 1 mile or 1.5 km to the Tulum Riveria (20-minute walk), where you can visit restaurants and bars if you choose, but you have an amazing, quiet location to stay at. There are very few places you will find that will offer this unique experience. Highly recommended if you are someone who appreciates good food (and doesn't mind it taking a little longer), having good cocktails, a quiet and clean beach with some wakes but not too many that you can't swim, and a more personalized experience where all the staff and other guests know you. I think this is as far from a corporate experience as possible, which is exactly what we wanted.

United StatesWe would have preferred no music on the beach and if the bicycles were maintained but salt air does funky things to metal!
Stunning beach front with no neighbors. We love the comradely and friendliness of Jorge and the staff and with the other guests; we got to know the staff and fellow travelers which is so good for us! The food is simple but EXCELLENT. The cocktails are special and delicious. The room we had was upstairs with an amazing view, very quiet and caught the breeze, sounds of the sea and the jungle and sunrise.

United KingdomOur few days were by far the most expensive in Mexico and for the price should have at least included breakfast. It is a tropical idyl but nevertheless the water supply and piping needs a serious upgrade, for us townies being cut off is not much fun!
Wonderful location at the end of Tulum, the start of miles of unspoilt beach providing exceptional walks. Our rooms facing the sea were really nice. The food was good, staff were both friendly and interesting

United StatesIt’s a little far from main areas, and some taxis had to pay a fee to get into the reserve. The water has to be turned off at times during the night, which proved to be a challenge for us when we got sick. Also, if the weather is rainy and windy, it’s not the most ideal place to be.
I loved the beach and that it was on the reserve, I felt very connected to the nature around us. I also liked how it felt like I was being taken care of by family. The food and drinks were delicious. Service was great.
