Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United Kingdomthe included breakfast is a joke. two small half-baked pastries per person, with a few slices of fruits. Clearly sub-standard for such category.
overall very good, great beach and views, nice environment.

MexicoWe had high hopes for our stay, and while the hotel has great potential to be truly incredible, there are definitely some areas for improvement. To start, we specifically chose this hotel because of the private pool in the room and its beachfront location. Unfortunately, due to a weather condition called a Surada (strong winds), the beach was covered with large amounts of sargassum. I understand this is a natural occurrence, but many hotels make the effort to clean it early in the morning—not only to improve the view but also to reduce the unpleasant smell it causes after sitting in the sun for hours. This hotel, however, claims it doesn’t have government support to remove it. As a result, our ocean view was far from enjoyable, and the smell was very fishy. Now, about the private pool—while the room itself was impressive, the area is surrounded by sand, which makes regular pool maintenance essential. We requested it be cleaned in the morning so we could enjoy it in the afternoon. Despite this being something that should be part of their daily routine, we had to call five times over the span of more than an hour before someone finally came. My husband even attempted to clean it himself before giving up. The food was good, though the portions were small. The highlight was definitely their Caesar salad—the chicken was excellent. We often had to call the staff multiple times to get assistance with our requests. Also worth noting, most of the suites have palm-thatched roofs. Since the hotel is surrounded by sand, we woke up every day covered in it. On top of that, we experienced power outages three out of the four nights we stayed. The AC and ceiling fan would shut off at night, making it pretty uncomfortable to sleep with the heat, sand, and even occasional rain coming in. At one point, the power went out while we were showering—water stopped running, and we were left covered in soap.

United Arab EmiratesThe gem of this property is undoubtedly the staff – always responsive and eager to assist. A special thanks to Gil for going above and beyond with my requests. The location is ideal, right on the beach with breathtaking ocean views. However, the beach itself was covered in sea grass, and unfortunately, it wasn’t cleaned regularly. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the lively restaurant and bar area. The breakfast provided was simple but sufficient for me, with coffee, croissants, and fruit. If you’re craving an omelette, there’s an additional charge. The common areas are well-maintained, and the staff is always visible, tidying up. My bungalow, while cleaned daily, could use some updates. There were visible termite issues near the entrance, which was a bit off-putting. Despite these minor issues, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and embraced the laid-back Tulum vibe, not letting the small details detract from the experience.

EstoniaThe place is actually amazing, but if you don’t like to wake up to a loud Bohemian Rhapsody at 7:30AM, then don’t stay in a room close to the Taqueria La Eufemia that is on the hotel premises, but is operated by an external party. Ask for a room as far as possible from it as the music is playing all day and stops at around 9:00PM. We survived 3 nights in an otherwise very nice beach front room, that was given as an upgrade, but then switched to a garden room. The included breakfast is also a little dissapointing as it includes just a cup of coffee, a tiny crossaint and a tiny fruit platter with razor thin slices of pineapple, papaya and melon. Everything else costs extra. Still the rooms and the hotel premises are very beautiful. During our visit the beach and the sea itself was full of seaweed, so it wasn’t possible swim there, but the hotel has a nice little round pool.

Canadai was disappointed with "breakfast included". a few slices of fruit and 2 mini croissants. i would have liked to have an egg or yogurt or at least more fruit. tea and coffee was included but a small fresh fruit juice would have been nice and i think easy to provide. the extra breakfast items off the menu were delicious on the 2 days that we opted to order more.
the beach is beautiful and i loved the design of the hotel. the bungalow style rooms are lovely. i was with my teenage son and we both loved the hotel and our oceanview room just steps to the beach. the bar/resto La Eufemia that is on the property but separate and open to the public is great with a casual fun vibe and friendly staff. the food was excellent and the prices reasonable. the concierge service via whatsapp was super helpful.

SpainThe “breakfast” was very poor and not nice at all. The personal there was nice. When we arrived, the reception lady got confused on the type of cards she accepts, she made me pay with 2 different cards, explaining wrong the booking details. In the room we’re missing the toiletries, never brought it. For the Nespresso coffee in the room, you had to pay extra to use it, never seen this before. The Spa was ok, but nothing special. There was no service at the beach, neither personal.
The location was good, quiet, quiet, the rooms were nice and clean. No insects, no reptiles, nothing to worry about. A lot of sand, green and sea.

United KingdomWe were constantly hassled to leave a tip; it didn't matter if it was the free breakfast provided or going to the bar for a cocktail where the service provided was very little, they would give you the bill and ask for a tip. If you said no you didn't want to leave a tip, they would ask why. The hotel isn't well equipped for children, the pool is deep and the menu (particularly the breakfast which you don't have a choice with) isn't geared for children.
The most incredible location, our room was merely metres from the beach. We saw the most beautiful sunrises on the beach and the beach is lovely and long so plenty of space for everyone. The room was lovely, well air conditioned and so quiet. There are a few restaurants within easy walking distance.

United StatesLIGHTING, TRASH ON THE BEACH and DEBRIS IN THE BED from the roof. As most reviews mention this is a rustic beach vibe. You will wake up with debris from the thatch roof every morning. Your floor will be covered in sand as the door opens right onto the sand. To us not that big of a deal, but some might not like that. The biggest complaint is the lighting. There were only 3 VERY DIM 15watt bulbs for the whole hut (one on each bedside table and one in the toilet room). The bath had LITERALLY no light - there use to be one in the ceiling but in our hut it was completly gone. We asked repeatedly for a lamp or somehthing - they kept assuring us they would bring one but it never came. We had to make sure we did our make up in the ocean front window before the sun went down otherwise the lighting was as if it was candle lit in the whole place at night. It could be a simple fix for the resort. There is a fan over the bed which would be switched out with a light fan and they could replace the mising light in the bathroom. Lastly, if you get a beach front villa expect to have trash on your little beach, there was a suprisingly sad amount of plastic stuck in the sand. They rake the main grounds but not your individual beach so that was disappointly if you are imagining a presitine ocean front vibe.
On the surface the grounds are beautiful with the sand and folliage and the ocean front villa with private pool was awesome! Love the vibe of the resort overall. Was very zen, yoga natrual retreat feeling. The staff was also very nice. We arrived in a rain storm and they gave us ponchos to ge to our room and brought the luggage once the rain stopped to help us stay dry.

CanadaDinning options are limited if you don’t have a car. The restaurant in the property had a very limited selection of food at dinner time.

United StatesThere is a restaurant within the facilities open to the public that creates “a lot of noise” with live music or just with loud speakers that affects the restoring spirit intended of the place. This seems to be the beach spot so it gets crowded and loud

IsraelThe location is not ideal if you dont have a car/ dont want to pay for a taxi ( taxi prices in tulum are outrageous). It would be nice if the hotel had alternative transportation options. The room doesnt have a solid roof, it is made out of leaves so there is fallout during windy nights. Overall if you are not comfortable with bugs and crabs this might not be for you, my room was practically a zoo.
The hotel has a cool vibe that aligns with the "tulum" atmosphere. The room was very big and relatively clean. They offer a free yoga class every day which is pretty nice. The pool area and the Akana beach club are nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The rustic feel and location. Free sessions of yoga and breath work. The staff were very nice.
