Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThat we had to leave.
The location is hands down in one of the most stunning places we have ever stayed. The beach is right on your doorstep and it’s white sand and turquoise water - so picturesque and stunning! The staff were so friendly and helpful, making us feel so at home. The food was also a standout - we were blown away by everything we ate and we made use of the margarita happy hour (1pm-4pm) everyday - they tasted amazing. Sunrise is just outside your room and is gorgeous. It’s also located in the national park making it super convenient to get to the Mayan ruins.

United Statesthis place is awesome! Jacqueline at the front desk is super friendly and helpful but even better is the location. It is inside the Tulum reserve, a controlled area, and you find yourself in a slice of paradise.

United KingdomGetting to downtown Tulum or other parts of the hotel zone can be time consuming and expensive(reliant on taxis)
I had an absolutely perfect experience at Mezzanine: from its location right on a white sand beach, to the gorgeous room, a beautiful open air restaurant that serves tasty Thai and Mexican dishes to amazing staff. It’s an ideal place for a brief and luxurious getaway. Special shoutout to all the staff members from Orquidia and Jacqueline at the front desk to everyone at the restaurant, who made my stay pleasant.

PolandThe service at the restaurant during the breakfast could be more attentive.
The hotel is spectacular and has a perfect location - just on the beach. The restaurant offers delicious thai dishes and tasty breakfast as well. Pricy but worth it.

LuxembourgThe only suggestion I have would be to consider not turning the air conditioner on every time you clean / enter an empty room, if you are truly committed to reducing the establishment’s impact on the environment. And the only thing which was slightly disturbing was the humming from the pool pump in our room, which wasn’t turned off until midnight each night, and the tank that comes to collect the water waste early each morning.
Mezzanine hotel is one of those places that just makes you feel serene from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The rooms are so thoughtfully put together and feel so cosy, and there are plenty of sun beds outside to enjoy the gorgeous view as well. It’s on the main beach so you can get to the temples and other bars or hotels really easily, but due to the way they’ve done it you feel completely alone in the little paradise. The staff were all so lovely and there were so many nice touches throughout our stay that made it feel extra special, like waking up to coffee outside your door in the morning, or tea in the evening, or them putting your preferred scented diffuser on while you’re out. It also be remiss of my to not mention the restaurant which is of a very high quality. I didn’t expect to be enjoying such good Thai food in Mexico, but I had it every night, happily!

SwitzerlandEverything at Mezzanine was amazing. The hotel is stunning, the amenities are great and the location by the beach is perfect. The hotel doesn't have a private beach, however they have access to the beach and it was almost private! The location is located in a "quiet area", restaurants, bars and night clubs are location 5-15min by car max, and some are accessible by foot. The staff was extremely attentive and dedicated to our wellbeing and safety. They made sure to pamper us during our stay. I would like to particularly thank Liz and Abdel for their help and recommendations. Will surely come back!

United StatesThe property is inside the national park, which has it's pros and cons. Pros is that it is beautiful. Cons - it is currently under a lot of development and construction. They are building roads and train tracks which will drastically change the area. Getting back in to the hotel takes an extra 20-30 minutes every time by car, and you need to go through security checkpoints, which is not ideal.

AustraliaWe chose the 'non view' room. The room was clean and very spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The hotel is on the quiet end of Tulum which suited us and we felt safe at all times. The staff were fantastic especially Alejandra at the concierge desk. They also made the best classic margaritas of our trip!

ChileEverything at the property was perfect. It is a little hard to move around without taxi that would be the only thing. They do have bikes but it’s a decent ride to get to the town and back and if it rains it pours so just be prepared. However, I’d you want to chill this is the place. The beach right below is beautiful and there’s no real need to go anywhere else.

South AfricaStepping into paradise. Immaculately clean. Lucious green trees and plants, with the sound and smell of the ocean, the trickling water from the fountain of the beautiful plunge pool and then the best part - the ocean view. The location is prime, access to beach straight off the hotel decking.
