Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MexicoDid not stay long enough ... we definetely want to return to this hostel for a longer stay.
Nice pool with hammocks, and lounging chairs, pool table with cold water dispenser. Breakfast of fresh fruits, toast and coffees + teas, for 120 pesos. Kitchen equipped with 8-burner gas stove, microwave, toaster, pots and pans, flatware, bowls and plats, cups and mugs. all kept nicely cleaned. The room was great with a King-Size bed, two night-tables with lamp, desk with chair, power plugs for our two laptops and cell chargers, great shower (rain shower) with lots of hot water. Gresst deals on tours, cenotes, and more. Great location to walk to many of the city highlights.

AustraliaWhen it rains, there aren't too many places to hide! If you don't value the extra activities, it will be a little pricey. The hamburger night needs a little work 🤷♂️ The private room didn't have blackout curtains, so I got a free alarm clock thrown in every morning. The walking tour could have had some factoids thrown in, but the guide was really friendly. It is a long walk from the bus station..
It has a good location which is in walking distance to paseo de Montejo, some parks and the plaza principal. If you are a foodie, then you will have some good options nearby: Manjar blanco, La Chaya Maya and the corredor gastronómico.. There is a social atmosphere, it's pretty easy to meet people and there are activities going on at night and/or morning (don't know if it's every day) like yoga, dance, trivia, walking tour. You can also book tours from the front desk and there's a WhatsApp group so you can connect and ask questions. I stayed in a private room and it was comfortable with a little desk and a private bathroom. Also, for better or worse, the hostel is good about keeping the noise down at night.. All and all if you are looking for something more than somewhere to sleep, it's a good option!

Australia1. When I checked in they told me that I would be charged 5% to use my card instead of paying with cash. My booking details clearly stated the property did not accept cash and there was no mention of a surcharge to pay with card. I tried to communicate this with reception but was still charged quite a bit more than what I thought. Their atm machine was also not working so I wouldn’t have been able to withdraw cash anyway. I felt pretty ripped off by this experience. 2. They need to change their playlist as the music was pretty lame in my opinion, and also update their pool table! 3. There was very limited space to hang things in the king room, some hooks would be great
Beautiful pool and garden out the back, good soundproofing, king room was really nice with a comfortable bed, great shower and air con. Very social with lots of opportunities to connect with other travelers around the pool. Lots of activities on offer. Great location to many good restaurants. Friendly and lovely staff and group what’s app chat 😊

This hostel is great is you want to get to know new people as they organize a bunch of activities (mixology, salsa, Mexicaan cooking classes, yoga). If you are just looking for a cozy quiet place it might not be the best option.

United Statesi had to remind the staff to turn on the AC every night. A minor annoyance.
The room was very large, as was the bath. The pool area had a breeze and the trees provided a good shade most of the day. The staff was very energetic and helpful. The guests were a good international mix of interesting people.

United StatesThey sell beer, but don't have a proper bar area. The AC hours are pretty stingy (10-8, if I recall correctly) and rooms can be quite hot if you want an afternoon siesta (which you will because Mérida is insanely hot). There's no real indoor common area, and the areas by the pool can be hot and have lots of mosquitos--a fan in the side table area near the pool would be very nice. They booked multiple groups of schoolchildren, which was somewhat bizarre for a hostel chain known as party hostels. The kids could be loud in the mornings when adult guests wanted to relax by the pool.
Great base for exploring Mérida. A very social vibe without being a hugely party hostel. Cool organized tours by the hostel including cenote day, beach sunset, etc. Lots to eat and do within walking distance. Maybe the most comfortable beds of any hostel I've ever been at. The pool is huge and had great water temperature.

The location was a 5 minute wall from the Plaza Grande and other little parks in the area as well as local restaurants and bars. It's also a close walk to Paseo de Montejo. The building is inconspicuous but once you enter its huge and so pretty! The pool is so necessary for the Merida heat! I stayed in one of the suite rooms and it was beautiful. The room overlooked the trees in the courtyard and it feels very tropical. The room has a screen door as well so you can have your door open and let in fresh air if you're spending time in the room ( I only did this when it poured one day). The room isn't huge but well layed out and it was the exact size you need if you're getting your own room at a hostel without it feeling like you were at a hostel. The bathroom/shower was super clean and had nice products available for use. It was quiet as well which is what I needed because I had a work presentation to do one of the days I was there. The staff was lovely. Very friendly and helpful in answering any questions I had. I was busy most of the time there but the hostel did offer a wide range of daily activities for guests to participate in and had a coordinated whatsapp chat to keep people connected. It wasn't forced but it was nice to know what was going on while staying at Che. It may seem a little pricier than other hostels but if you could plan ahead and make it work I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful, old colonial architecture with gardens, hammocks, tall, shady trees and a fantastic large pool, Private rooms and dorms available. There is a co-working space and a game room. You can cook in the kitchen if you like. Central location near Av. Montejo museums and posh shops, Sta. Lucia, Santiago Market, museums in the main plaza, the folk art museum etc.&

United StatesThe music was sometimes a bit too loud, but it was turned off at 11pm so it wasn't too bad. The booking site said breakfast was included, but that isn't really true. You have to pay 120 pesos for breakfast, so it's not actually included in the price. I wouldn't say this is the fault of the hostel as much as the booking site.
The location was good and the staff and volunteers were friendly. I liked the bed and the facilities overall. Although I didn't partake, they had a lot of neat activities like salsa dancing lessons, home-made burger night, drinking games, etc.. It was also nice that they had towels to rent and cheap locks for your footlocker. I also appreciated the gatitos that hung out at the hostel. They made the place feel a bit more homey.
