We loved our stay at Casa los Abuelos. The location is very convenient and quiet at night. Close to the beach and all amenities. Daily cleaning service was much appreciated. Comfortable beds, AC, wifi reached our room, kitchenette was great.

Close to the harbour and the beach. It was clean, with hot water, and free coffee. We had a problem with our toilet which they fixed 10min after our arrival.

- There wasn’t really a reception area so check-in and information were slow. Staff were fairly responsive via text though.

- Nice room with fridge, coffee machine (with coffee provided), and hot shower. - Good value for the island. - The cleaning staff were lovely. - The WIFI listed on the sign at the WIFI zone didn’t reach the rooms, but when we told the staff they promptly provided the password to a much better signal.

this was my third time returning and I like the location and the room with garden . I know what to expect ; a bright room with two beds, bedside table, chest of drawers and small fridge , bathroom . in the garden you can hang your wet swimsuit and there is a table and chairs outside the room. waking up with birds singing it’s an idyllic spot for a good nights sleep. the owners are very kind and helpful. cleaning is done every day of you want and the girls are always smiling .

no mosquito nets on the windows. empty hole for a window in the bathroom (was fixed on the last day). only cold water with weak preassure in the shower, nowhere to wash your feet/sandals before entering the room so you bring in all of the sand from the street. wifi was pretty much non-existent for the duration of our entire stay, no hooks in the room to hang wet swimsuits/towels. very small bathroom that was not the cleanest. expensive for what you get, but whole Holbox is expensive as it is

good location - not far from the beach, a little bit aways from the village center so less noise and traffic. golf cart taxi from the ferry to the hotel was only 100 pesos. staff were extremely nice and accomodating. on the first night the roof of our room was leaking due to heavy rain and they tried to fix it as best as they could and even offered us a new room. cleaning every day. clean bed sheets. small kitchen with microwave (no place to plug in the fridge tho, so we were not able to use it). working ac and fan that squeaks like an old bycicle. small patio with chairs in front of the room. dark blinds on the windows. one of the beds were comfortable, the other was like sleeping on small balls. nice music coming in from the restaurant next door. lovely garden area.

Wifi was very weak to non existent but we understand this is the case in a lot of places in Holbox so not sure it’s a fault of the property.

Nice room with a small kitchen area that was handy. Bed was relatively comfortable and it had air con which was useful in the heat. really well located.

The WiFi was really poor. We didn't expect great WiFi on the island but it was far worse than the restaurant next door. It would appear then disappear at random. Maybe some extra routers could fix this problem? Staff can be hard to locate at times if you need anything but you can send them a message.

Excellent location - quiet and very comfortable. Even when some roads were flooded, this part of the island is not affected. The shower is relatively warm - not hot but fine for the weather. Rooms have quiet AC and a fridge. Place was clean. Washing lines outside to dry your wet clothes after a day in the sea.

we stayed here for 3 nights and had a good time. the room is basic but had everything we needed and was clean. AC and Wifi worked well. you can rent bikes. there is free drinking water. the location is good and in walking distance to everything. every room has a table and two chairs outside which was nice.

When we arrived, there was no reception or check in (which is fine). There was a nice greeting sign on our door with the key left in the lock - which again, was nice and absolutely fine. But....this meant we had absolutely no idea who the staff were or who worked there. No one introduced themselves to us at all. We arrived at 4pm and messaged to say we wanted to hire bikes the next morning at 9am. The bikes were there, but there was no one to be seen. We didn't want to just take them incase they were being used by other guests. We messaged to ask if we just help ourselves to bikes, then went out to find breakfast on foot. When we returned around 11am, there were cleaners in the rooms and in our broken Spanish we asked who worked there to hire the bikes from. Turns out - the guy lives in the end room (furthest away from the entrance). Not bad as such, but if someone had greeted us or made themselves known to us, our bike hire day & general 1st morning would have been better. It cost us a couple of hours. The room was a little musty smelling, but not too bad. There's no breakfast on site.

These 'budget' rooms are in a great location in the centre of Holbox Town, just far enough away from bars to be quiet at night. The aircon was good, good hot shower with good water pressure. The room & bed sheets were clean, with free coffee in the room. Comfy beds. Seating outside the room. Bicylce rental on site (although rental wasn't as smooth as it could have been). A local bakery to get breakfast breads a few doors down (30 pesos for 4 pastries). A few minutes walk to the restaurants, bars & beach. A nice welcome sign was pinned to the door when we arrived, and the key was left in the door for us.
