Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere seemed to be a lot of very loud Americans in the hotel, and they were very noisy all the time. The massage treatments were insane prices. The gym was very limited. In the sports bar, there were late night snacks to microwave, but they were really not great. The desserts all taste the same. There were some great staff in the hotel but there were also a lot of miserable looking souls.
The location is good, right in the resort area, easy to get ubers, and feels safe. The staff are mostly very lovely and don't worry about tipping but my advice is if you do tip a little bit here and there it will make your trip better and gain you a bit of respect from the staff for the hard work they put in to make your stay good. If you're going to book things like trips and coco bongos, then book here at the hotel, and you will get a better deal. The food is a big variety and the different restaurants add a bit something extra one is Asian style things and we had that a couple of nights and we tried the gastro style restaurant and that was good but we found a bit better for us to eat in the main buffet. They could definitely make some better desserts and definitely need to have someone to mind the kids putting there hands in the chocolate fountain and stuff. The cocktails in the day were slushy ice varieties and the strawberry daquiris were good, the drinks were good and barstaff were fun. The parties were really nice and a good little crowd. All in all a nice break next to a nice beach with good staff and plenty of food and drinks at a sensible price! It was good 👍

United StatesExcellent vacation. The liquor for the all inclusive should be top shelf or near top shelf for the price of the hotel and the Brand of the hotel (RIU).

United KingdomWe had a late flight and would have loved to pay for late check out to 2pm but they said it wasn’t possible, and still charged us for the one hour. Most hotels will overlook that. Some restaurants closed earlier and couldn’t fit us even though we were there as early as we thought. Example was the steak house
Lovely scenery and lovely room with ocean view and loads of space

United StatesThe only negative was that my husband and I stayed during spring break. We witnessed some out of control college students vomiting and fighting. These behaviors cannot be blamed on the Riu or its staff. The staff of the Riu quickly and appropriately stepped in during these incidents. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Riu Caribe again, but not during spring break.
The property was beautiful and meticulously clean. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The buffet has lots of options and the food was fresh and very good.

United StatesInternet is complimentary for up to 4 devices only but once you register them, it's permanent and you cannot disconnect them. If you have a 5th device, you need to purchase the connection. Hotel is oriented North, and beach is getting out of sun after 5 pm because the sun sets behind the hotel. The sea is ok, not at the level someone could expect from the Caribbean sea. If you like a quiet place, this is not exactly the best hotel because people celebrate till late in the night (actually morning, sometimes till 2-3 am) and you can hear them even if they stay in the Bar.
Breakfast was great. Lots of various food. Continental Breakfast, typical Mexican food, American breakfast. Practically everything. Coffee machine can make cappuccino too. Variety of different fruit juices. Beach is super, the sand is like white powder. The all inclusive is really ALL-included. Cocktails are nice and Staff is very warm and welcoming. Diving center team available for Certifications and other specific need (water sports). Opportunity to go to Isla Mujeres with a collective boat-tour (prices reasonable) that starts in front of the hotel.

United StatesThere was a big selection of food, but nothing was very good. Just ok.
Beautiful beaches, turquoise water, and pools. View was spectacular. They cleaned our room everyday which was awesome good night life and every drink you could think of available 24/7. Would 100% recommend. However it was a pretty young crowd and awesome night life, I don’t think it’s a place I would want to bring our kids.

United StatesThe food was the only let down for us, but it is expected with an all-inclusive resort because they are making food for the masses. Nothing "wrong" with the food, it was just very bland. The Asain restaurant was the only exception, the food was exceptional, so we ate there most evenings.
I am very clean, and this place met all my expectations. I was very impressed. We enjoyed the staff, activities, beach area, pools, etc.

Great Hotel with 5* services. very well trained staff, nice people in all positions. High standard restaurants and bars (lots of selections), the pools are warm enough, the beach is beautiful and just right there. The bus stop to Cancun Center is just a few meters from the hotel, and the ferry to Isla Mujeres can be reached by walk (15 minutes).

IrelandIt was a little noisy outside at night, as there were groups of youngsters enjoying all inclusive access to the spirits bit too much, but we didn’t mind it, as we were there too once, many moons ago.
Loved our stay at Riu Caribe from the very first minute. We were greeted by lovely Daniela and got un unexpected upgrade of our room, which was a nice surprise. Then it got only better. Room was beautiful, clean and bright, overlooking turquoise Caribbean sea. Restaurants had a great selection of food, plenty to choose from at the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Plus, the other restaurants on top of it, with no reservations needed. There was a plenty of entertainment throughout the day, either at the pools, beach or theatre area in the evenings. Really enjoyed White Party, where my husband and I felt like a teenagers again. Big shoutout to dozens of hardworking staff, who make sure that the place is spotless and your stay fully enjoyable. Mexican hospitality and kindness blew us away and we are willing to come back to this beautiful place again

United StatesI would have liked more beer selections as there was only one. Lunch options were also exactly the same every single day for the pool and beach people.
The new updates at the hotel were nice. The rooms felt fresh and modern and my balcony was amazing. The sports bar was also very clean and modern with good drinks and very accommodating for NFL games. Fernando was absolutely fantastic. This property has a beautiful calm beach that some days guests could even use their floats in. The ferry to Isla Mujeres is also walking distance from the hotel. The dinner options did get repetitive but they were consistently good. I did call for a Riu doctor during my stay and I would highly recommend doing so. He was able to solve my issue almost immediately without losing more vacation time. Also, Riu parties happen 4 times a week at this property and guests from other Riu properties are even bused in for them. The crazy thing is if you don’t look for them you literally would never know they were there… I have to say also the cleaning staff were the best and most creative with my towel animals ever
