United StatesThe day that I checked out, the hot water did not exist. AND THE ELEVATOR WAS OUT! I had a room with a private pool, which means I was on THE lowest level. I was alone and had to carry my suitcases up from ground zero and then had to walk all the way across to the other side to resort to grab another elevator. The blessing I guess is that it brought me near the front desk. Additionally, my private pool was facing the side where construction is being done on the Santa Fe! It was pretty creepy to find the construction workers gawking at me while trying to use my pool!
Truly, I loved everything about the parts of the facility that I used. I ate all of my meals in the main restaurant, except for the last night. I tried the nicer restaurant next to the main one. I was NOT impressed at all with the food. I loved that a taxi could be called and would arrive in less than 2 minutes. All of the staff were extremely helpful and there were enough staff members that were fluent in English; making things very comfortable for me. Also, I had a room with a private pool! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

United StatesBuffet and room service food got boring after 2nd day, walls are thin so you can hear everything. Room had this clean/not so clean smell. It smelled like wet clothes that you left in your dryer. Cleaning staff starts early so all you hear is the push cart going down the hallways on tile floor early in the morning. The couch in the room was beyond warn out, not comfortable at all!
Resort was huge so it didn’t feel crowded, lines for buffet and restaurants were short. Staff was beyond amazing! Resort was clean!

United StatesStaff should provide equal excellent service to all travelers specially that its all inclusive resort, some staff attended more to people who had provided tips not knowing we were going to tip them very well however my fiancé and I was cheated from good service many times. We still tipped very well leaving a shocking face on the staff every time however it was disappointing to have to experience the lack of service numerous times during the stay. We understand the staff depends on the tips to make it like we all do. My employment and podcast is the reason I can enjoy vacations but excellent customer service experience should be priority so people like us would visit again and recommend others to do so. Thank you

United StatesPeople were smoking at their rooms and throwing cigarette butts over the railings and into our areas. Very inconsiderate. The staff cleaned quickly, which was nice. Upon arrival, the staff informed us that we didn’t need to make reservations for dinner which is true, however, there was a waitlist for dinner in each restaurant that opens at 6pm. If you weren’t seated at that time they would add you to a waitlist. They didn’t tell us this at arrival, so we learned that hard way. Many guests shared similar frustration with the waitlist system. All of us would appreciate more clarity and frankly a reservation system and take the stress out of guessing where dinner will be that evening. Some of us prefer later dinners. I think it was definitely a staffing issue. Major opportunity to help increase the guest experience! The buffet for breakfast was delicious. Lunch outside by the pool was great - especially the tacos! Dinners were not good.
We enjoyed the price of a room that had a walkout personal pool. The staff was incredibly friendly, polite and accommodating. The amount of pool space in comparison to the amount of guest was quite nice. Didn’t feel too crowded.

United StatesMy cousin and I were beyond excited to stay at RIU we had been needing a vacation and specially chose RIU based off reading amazing reviews and everything that the resort had to offer. Upon arrival we were very satisfied with the check in. It was quick and easy and the staff were very nice. That was May 31st. Yesterday June 1st we left the resort to swim with dolphins and when we came back around 645 our room door was wide open and our clothes from our suitcases were all over the place. We even left the do not disturb tag on the door. As we look around I noticed my purse where I had my cash 300usd and my debit card which I used at check in we’re no longer in my purse. My cousin then checked her purse and 200usd were gone. We immediately called the lobby and they told us to come down and fill out and incident report. I did fill out the report and was told by Nicole the public relations lady that she would switch our rooms and would have the investigating done in 24 hours. I gave her my personal number and let her know to call us when the room was ready because we needed to get dinner. We never got a call at all which was very rude and disappointing because we truly were scared being in that room after what happened and knowing you guys do not have any cameras except in the lobby so she completely disregarded how unsafe we felt after that. We were leaving June 2nd in morning so we just kept all light on and slept as best as we could but I honestly was up all night because I just did not feel safe and couldn’t wait to leave. I’m very upset that I was told I would be moved rooms because of safety but that never happened. This morning when my cousin and I went to the desk to find out the resolution and let them know we’re checking out the front desk worker said “ oh we’ll contact you guys about it after “ that completely upset me because he acted as though our situation was nothing and not a big deal at all.
