Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceHowever, the A/C was quite loud and next to our heads on the top bunk beds. And the bathroom is right into the room, which is not practical in terms of noise. Otherwise good
the staff was welcoming, and the bed quite comfy.

CanadaOur room was not quiet , I know staying in a hostel there is going to be these types of things but our doorm mates didn’t seem very respectful of other people, clothes strung over the room, lots of noise at all hours of the night. The mosquitoes were out of control and the wifi doesn’t work on every floor or at all sometimes
The staff were nice and accommodating

SpainThe weirdest rule: you need to keep the door open at all times!?? What is that? Not just unlocked but completely open! The door does not close. It feels very unsafe to sleep like that! The kitchen was very very very poorly equipped! Dirty, not well maintained and lacking most basic stuff. There are a few plates but no cups or glasses and no spoons!? The lockers are small. Not enough bathrooms. The towels need to be paid for. No place to hang clothes to dry. I hanged my wet towel in the balcony and it was stolen.
There is a kitchen and a tiny pool. There is free drinking water. Hot showers. Socket by the bed. Curtains for privacy.

JapanThere are only 4 lockers in the 6-person room. It was very unpleasant that my roommate used my cups and food without permission. That could have been prevented if there were lockers. The air conditioner was too strong and I couldn't sleep. I had a cold so I asked to adjust the temperature, but they said the remote control was broken and I couldn't do it. I understood that it couldn't be turned off by just one person, but the other guest in the same room also had a cold. If you don't like being cold, please bring thick clothes. There is a water server on the first floor and the kitchen is on the fourth floor. If you like to cook, it might be a bit of a hassle.
All the staff were very kind and it was nice to be able to greet them every time I passed through the reception. The room was also cleaned beautifully every day. The guard dogs are very cute and friendly.

United KingdomWifi didn't stretch to rooms (or at least not 301). Pillows were clean & fine really, but weirdly small. Everything else was great.
Staff were friendly, clear and very accommodating & helpful. They charge a cash deposit on arrival and return it on departure without even being asked (as long as you've not damaged anything of course). Dorms were spacious & clean, and beds have good quality sheets, charging points, a reading light and a fan. Showers are good. The rooftop kitchen has lots of fridge space and enough pans etc, and the pool was exactly as in the photo. Rooftop wifi was good. Location is close to shops & supermarket - ideal for budget travellers who need to cook for a while - and also close to good street tacos & an easy walk into central Tulum town if you want to go out. Also it's only 1 block from the highway, so it's easy to get there (and out) on collectivos if you don't have huge bags. I was looking for somewhere chill and comfortable, and was happy to find that here. I would definitely go back.

GermanyBig place, but feels unfinished. My lamp in the bed did not work. Maybe a small board next to the bed for putting things on it would be a good idea. Little bit strange policy with the open door, but at the end it doesn’t really matter. Sanitary facilities in the dorm could be cleaner and there is no space to put your stuff when using the shower. The bath room downstairs need toilet papers sometimes. Wi-Fi is not working in the dorm room, there should be one, but it wasn’t shown in my phone at all. Also the stuff doesn’t have a solution and the wifi which was shown there was no password to get. Tulum is a very touristic area, so everything is more expensive then in other places I have been in Mexico, so the price of the hostel is ok for what you get in Tulum. I wouldn’t return to Tulum, as there is not so much to do and it’s orientated on American tourists. It reminds me of Ibiza. So not my vacation interests, but that’s not the hostels fault. if I need to come back one time to Tulum, I would go there again for that price.
It’s 1,3 km to the ADO station, colectivo to Tulum ruins is 400 meters, restaurants are all around 1 km. It was the cheapest option to stay in Tulum.

MexicoThey have a weird policy in the shared dorms that the door should be open at all times, even at night you cant fully close it which made me feel un comfortable specially while changing clothes. I needed to go to the bathroom which was always completely wet. No chilling area other than the pool and the "kitchen" is... Well I wouldnt cook there.
Its close to the main avenue, bike rentals, yoga studio and local food. Fair price.

Australia-
Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and willing to help. They upgraded me for free. The bed was really comfy and has all the little things that hostels often lack (curtains, personal light, fan and powerpoint). The rooftop pool is so nice to hang out around. Very chill place and well located.

United KingdomWifi was ok when I arrived. But kept cutting on and off from the 2'nd day and nights onward. So as that is a necessity for me as for many of us who need to do their work online I did not extend from after Cafeteria which was told to be open during the week days I saw never open even once. Pool area is a very nice and relaxing space to chill, eat and meet other travellers. But the pool itself didn't feel inviting for me due to the water being smurky and not so clean. But that could be an easy fix to upgrade the stay for new visitors.
Location was very good. Safe, clean & quiet hostel to stay for a couple days or even for longer visits. Nice design of the building, loved the rooftop area with the pool and the communal kitchen. Comfortable bunk beds with separate fans, little head light, charging points inside & the thick curtain for your own privacy. Loved that it was extremely quiet for Tulum at night. So after 4 months of travelling I had an amazing nights of sleep in that hostel. And of course due to that being the reason I extended my stay. The hostel has 24h security. It is fairly cheap to stay!! Not a party hostel!!! Which was great for me. And of course the staff was extremely friendly & welcoming. Keep doing what you are doing and big Thank You for everything & all you do :)

GermanyThere is a kitchen, but it was not well equipped and kind of dirty. The rooms itself were nice and modern, but we had to leave the door open all night long, which was kind of scary.
The rooms had curtains and it was silent. Located close to a supermarket and to a collectivo station. Nice terrace and rooftop

United Kingdom1 toilet/ shower room for a 12 bed dorm isn't enough. Should be 2 or 3 for that many beds, or at least separate rooms so you can use the toilet when someone is in the shower. Also the light didn't work on my bunk (reported to reception for maintenance) so I had to struggle with phone torch when the main lights were off at night and in the morning. Everything else was great
The rooftop pool, kitchen and social area is really good. Staff super friendly and helpful too

United KingdomNeeds more forks in the kitchen! I suspect past guests have been taking them. The strictness on no visitors is kinda sad. Getting down from the top bunk feels precarious. The fridge could definitely do with being fully cleared out and deep cleaned
Generally it’s a great place. Accommodating staff, functional kitchen, super chill if that’s what you’re looking for and always playing great tunes! Super grateful for the complementary water and the dog is the cutest. Love the little fan by the bed to get rid of the mosquitoes. Also it’s right near the big supermarket which is great and I loved being 3 mins walking from Om Collective yoga
