Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsWe got the feeling that the hostel got overrun by the next door open air club -which is LOUD af, untill 3 am its just impossible to catch any sleep- that effects the vibe in the hostel, but not in the way you’d hope for.
Perfect location, tour to Chichen Itza was easily booked and affordable. Pool is clean (which was nice for a change) and AC worked properly. Owner is a nice dude.

GermanyI don't smoke and am pretty sensitive about that, so I am not a fan of people staying at the entrance door smoking as that always flies into the building and eventually into the dorm rooms.
The guy at the front desk was pretty helpful with letting me use the lockers differently from what their rules say (which aren't logical and seem to try to milk the cow the most). Also, one of the guys staying there just came around and spent everyone a cervesa.

Czech RepublicI would have two things that could be improved for me. One, especially important for me, is that some of the lower beds do not have very good access to the sockets, so it was impossible for me to charge my phone overnight because the mattress covered it and even though I uncovered it, it was pushing on the adapter and it just kept failling all night. I noticed that there were two down beds in the room with that, it would be better to put it in a better place. Next, if there is an option to have USB lamps by the bed, it would be nice to also make a USB socket there because if I had to choose whether to use my adapter for my phone or for a lamp, I would of course choose the phone, otherwise if you don't have an adapter, you won't use the lamp anyway. And lastly, and maybe that's how it works, but so far, when I've traveled around Yucatán, luggage storage, even after check-out or before check-in, has always been free, so I was surprised that a guest has the option to leave their luggage there and even use their locker, but you have to pay for it ($80 for a small bag and $100 for a large one), which I think should also be included in the price of the accommodation for the guests. However, otherwise I was very satisfied and I would like to thank the staff at the reception for their willingness, he was so incredibly helpful even though we had a language barrier.
Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised and especially with the luxurious attitude of the employee, who was very helpful and I'm just sorry that I don't speak Spanish so that we could understand each other better. The hostel is located in a perfect location, not even 5 minutes from the bus station and the center. I would say that everything was fine and I would definitely stay again, and honestly, if I had known earlier, I would have taken a few of their tours around the area with them, because they are very affordable and convenient. Definitely satisfied.

GermanyAll the shower gel/shampoo dispensers were empty. Beach chairs rather dirty. Party at restaurant next door until late (2am) two nights in a row. We were told about it at check in but having this information does not make it any easier to fall asleep. Ants in bathroom.
The English speaking guy at the reception was amazing!! Had a load of advice for us regarding cenotes and scooter rental. Staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Perfect location near ADO and very central in general.

AustraliaThere is no hot water but we are used to that in Mexico. The water pressure in the shower was terrible though and it was difficult to wash my hair. The bathroom had not been cleaned before we arrived however this was resolved immediately and it was cleaned very well. The WiFi is great in communal areas but not as good in the room. It did work but only in certain areas or certain times. Whilst this issue wasn’t the hostels fault we did have issues with other guests in the kitchen. Sadly it seems to be necessary for there to be signs in the kitchen to provide some kind of rules for people who do not understand common curtesy. I.e. clean up after use (there was several occasions we attempted to use the kitchen however one couple had used it previously and had left all of the cooking utensils out on the hobs with food still on them) this would be fine if there was more utensils however there was not. This meant we had to wait for them to finish eating their food and then clean up before we could even start to cook our own. There is also a bar next door that plays music very loud every night until early hours, in fact sometimes the music didn’t start until 11pm-12am.
The location was great, close to everything and across the road from the collectivos to chichen itza. They have bike and scooter rental available and the king room was very large. The bed was comfortable and staff were kind and helpful. The aircon is good too. We didn’t get to use the pool due to the weather but the outdoor area is quite nice. Coffee and continental breakfast is included. Tv with movies provide in communal area to was good.

CanadaUnfortunately, the hostel is located next to an open air bar which plays music every Saturday and Sunday until 3am. I had read reviews saying that it was loud but thought, no problem, most hostels are! However, I was not prepared for just how loud it would be. Even with earplugs I couldn’t sleep until at least 3:30 both nights. The music was so loud you could feel it in your body. I would advise you consider somewhere else if you will be in town Saturday/Sunday.
The hostel is located very close to the ADO bus terminal and the centre of town. The staff was super kind and helpful with everything.
