CanadaThe location of the property is wonderful- right on the beach. The facilities are amazing with updated bathrooms. What I loved most was the fact that it’s not a massive resort and feels quite intimate, but still with the necessary anonymity. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was magnificent- incredible “snack bar” serving burgers, pizzas etc throughout the day (aside from the amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet). I must also commend them for their environmental sustainability initiatives. We had an amazing 5 nights here and would 100% recommend.

SwedenThe inconsistent housekeeping. It was clean and ok but we did miss towels, they did not change sheets after a week's stay, mixed pillows, Missing our room, one night we had no towels, and after 2 calls we still had to wait in the shower for 40 min to get anything sent to our room. The Beach was a big disappointment. The many many boats and the sandbags in front of the executive cloud made the private beach less nice than the public beach. The VERY bad smell from the septic tank on the roadside of the hotel was overwhelming and it smelled super bad inside our room. The main restaurant had a good breakfast but a poor lunch and dinner. Very few choices, not enough main dishes and the station of live cooking was mainly the same, with bad pasta station.
The Animation Team with Boris, Abi, Caro, Kania, and Kenneth was amazing. Our kids had the best time with the crew and all the fun activities. We give them a stellar 5 stars for effort and commitment. For kids between 8-12 year, this significantly improved the overall rating of this stay at the Reef Coco Beach. The Mexican Ala carte restaurant was very good, and you can book the ala carte Restaurants as often as you like and very easily was great.

Gorgeous hotel with lovely smiley staff. Excellent delicious varied menus, clean beach and pool. Great day time entertainment for older kids, pool games and interesting evening shows. Rooms were comfy and quiet.

SwedenThe room was ok. A bit of a smell in the room. It was very humid and the AC had not a dry mode. We hade our room on the first floor and it was quite noisy in the morning from the service personal making the common areas ready. The buffe was ok but not more than that.
Good location right on the beach. We could always find a lounge chair somewhere. Altough the sun didn't reach all around the pool. Easy to park our car. The staff was always happy and smiling.

United KingdomI was put in the lobby room. The noise was insane at 5am onwards. Was upset as we are backpacking and come to this hotel to rest! That room either needs to be soundproofed of disused. The bar right next to it was loud till 12.30am so didn’t get much sleep.
The hotel is lovely and the food was exceptional. Best I’ve had in an all inclusive. Loads of amazing quality options. Drinks are great. Always sun loungers available too. Without a problem

United KingdomThe food in the buffet restaurant was often disappointing, particularly the hot food which was generally luke warm.
Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were very good, cleanliness was also very good and it was a bonus having the dive centre on site. We also liked the location, in a quieter part of town but still handy for Fifth Avenue etc. We enjoyed a meal at the Italian restaurant.

United StatesThe food was just average. The beds were very hard. I was under the impression that the reef came up to the resort and there would be good snorkelling. It did not. Although the water was clear, there was very little marine life to be seen. There is free boat parking in the water behind the enclosed (very small) swimming area. The boats block the view. I also don't like to be bugged about time shares and they do that quite frequently at the Reef resort. The grounds are not as nice as other resorts- no major landscaping, thick foliage, or flowers. I did not care for the stinky fish smell at the resort. It seemed to be all over Playa Del Carmen this time and I do not remember it smelling so bad during past visits. There is not much to do at this resort.
The resort is close to the shopping Avenue in Playa. It is close to the reef (by boat) and has it's own dive shop. The water in back of this resort is very clear.

CanadaWe went to the Italian restaurant one evening and it was a complete waste of time. The service was very slow and it wasn't busy, it was 30 minutes before we even got a drink and our order was taken. The salad bar was mostly empty and the server was rude when we asked if it was going to be replenished. And we had to ask several times for another drink. The pillows were not comfortable and we had issues with the TV.
The room and the hotel was very clean. The pool is great. Lots of activities for guests in the resort and a wide variety of day trips. The Buffet is great with a wide variety of food served 3 times a day. Plenty of bars around and a snack bar.
