United StatesThis was our second visit to The Royal Cancun. Our first trip was in 2020 as a couple, when we stayed at three different hotels in the Cancun Hotel Zone. This time, we traveled as a family of three with our 2-year-old daughter. I specifically chose The Royal Cancun because it offered the perfect balance of shade from the sun, calm waters, and a more serene atmosphere—ideal for our little one. The hotel is family-friendly, clean, and spacious, with a more relaxed vibe compared to other resorts. The beach is gentle, not too rough, and the surroundings are peaceful, yet we had the option to visit the sister property, The Royal Sands, for when we wanted more active beach with bigger waves and wind. Every moment of our stay was wonderful. We were treated with such care and kindness, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The cleaning staff, in particular, made our experience effortless, ensuring our trip with a toddler was more relaxing - I was impressed by the fact that every day our milk bottles were cleaned and for a week I didn't have to worry about this daily task! Our room was the perfect size for a family, providing plenty of space for all of us, and the entire hotel is impeccably maintained. I truly enjoyed every second of our stay at The Royal Cancun, and if we return to Cancun in the future, this will definitely be our go-to hotel. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Entire resort is a non-smoking facility hence a good place for family with young kids. Also, beaches are very shallow allowing plenty of time in water and sand with no worries.

United StatesOnly downside is the beach in front of the resort is weedy. But a couple steps down the beach it is shallow and clear so it didn't really affect our stay. There is no night time activity but that wasn't something f we were looking for.
This resort was perfect for our family trip with 3 adults and 2 teens. The suites were very comfortable and as advertised. The entire resort is spotless. The location is 2 blocks from the ferry and easily accessible for the the bus to take you around town. The buffet was clean and varied from day to day. Food is available 24/7. The staff is welcoming and kind. Loved that they provided complimentary 20 min shuttle to their sister resort (The Royal Sands) and that we were covered by the all inclusive there as well. Bigger pools, better ocean, more eateries.

United StatesOur room was near the main road, so you could hear traffic all night. Even though we had an all-inclusive package we had to sign for all food and drinks, which was a little more inconvenient than other all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at.
One of the main reasons we chose this resort was the villa size (2 bedrooms + kitchen + living area + balcony). We enjoyed all the included sports offerings (we took advantage of tennis, kayaking, paddle boarding, soccer pool, foosball table). Staff was very friendly. Good pool for kids. We liked the smaller size of the resort and having access to their sister resort which was larger with a better beach and a water park for the kids.

United StatesIt was a little noisy at night with the Captain Hook ships and there was not a lot to walk to outside of the resort. However, the shuttle to the other resort / buses allowed us to access other parts of the city easily.
The room was spacious and had a great view. There were several food options between the buffet and menu. We also really liked the ability to use the sister property (Royal Sands) as that had more beach area/waves and the hot tub.

It was smaller than other properties which made it less crowded and more relaxed. We loved dining on the beach for all our meals. There were pretty much always beach chairs available so no fighting to get those early in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable and great beach front view. Plenty of activities on site to keep you busy. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

The resort was smaller compared to the resorts in the hotel zone. However, it also provided a very wholesome family atmosphere. The kids loved the intimate setting it had to offer. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our concierge, Carlos, made sure that all our needs during our stay were met. Pedro, the bartender, at the pool bar was very friendly and provided the best mixed drinks the place had to offer.

United StatesHad no complaints. Everything was great. One thing that might be improved was the cost of a shuttle to the airport. the front desk quoted us $75 for an eight person shuttle and we got one from the internet for $45. we had to go through the travel desk in the front lobby.
Loved that the breakfast dining was on the beach, and that the sea was OK for the little ones to play in. Also they had kayaks available.

United StatesUnfortunately the beach as it was full of seaweed not a reflection of the hotel as their crew would pick it up every morning with wheel barrels so not their fault but it just had limited swim areas at the beach.
The resort staff take such pride in keeping all grounds immaculate. It was truly one of the best places my family and i have stayed. The restaurant staff were wonderful and extremely attentive to our needs. Adrian at the Palapa restaurant indeed great to us and our needs. Thank you everyone specially Laura we appreciate all information given to us and help throughout our stay.

United StatesThe beach in that area is very calm, almost like a pool, which is really nice for kids, but the water is not the beautiful blue that you hope for in Cancun. The main restaurant is on a covered outdoor patio area, so while it is nice that it is overlooking the beach, it is also very hot and humid and doesn't make for a comfortable dining experience. They also offer room service which is included with the all inclusive package, but it takes a long time. There is one more restaurant which is much nicer, though not as scenic, but you do need to make a reservation for it.
The room is very convenient. Two separate bedrooms plus a murphy bed in the living room. Also a nice kitchen which came stocked with bottled water and drinks and coffee for the mornings. I also appreciated that they had a great "on boarding" experience -- someone took the time to show us around the resort, explain all tour and food options, and help us get situated.

United StatesI wish they had a few more wait staff working the pool and beach areas, but it was still good service.
All the facilities were clean, the suite was very comfortable. The location is good, you can take the bus to town or the party area and then when you return it's a great place to relax and have some quiet time. Having the free shuttle to take you over to the Sands resort was very good, as you can go hang there for the day, play in the large ocean waves and party, then return to tranquil quiet of the northern hotel zone in what I would call the bay area.

United StatesThe resort is very clean,spotless..housekeeping also top notch..food was amazing,there’s a lot of choices from the restaurants inside of the resort and also in their sister resorts..we felt safe all the time,as long as you’re in the resort..outside I can’t guarantee..service at the palapa was great,Patricia was amazing..she remembered my wife and me from previous times and was very welcoming.. At the second bar,by the kiddy’s pool service wasn’t that great,they weren’t so receptive..when we said hello and asked for drinks they seemed bothered and not interested at all..but I understand,it’s hot,lots of people..but at least a little bit of curtesy.. Staff seemed like a little bit unhappy I noticed,maybe because they changed the owner and Holiday inn isn’t treating them well Message for the owners: treat your workers good,don’t abuse them,they’re all amazing.. Overall good experience ..thank you Royal Resorts,well always come back Tho im also very unhappy that they changed the owners and management 😔
