We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesIt was great staying at the yellow nest, the location is very convenient if you want to visit the cenotes or any of the water parks. The only slight inconvenience is the road leading to the hotel, needs to be paved, otherwise a great experience.

United StatesBeautiful hidden gem off the beaten path surrounded by peaceful jungle and cenotes you can visit. It's the perfect place to unwind if you like to be tucked away from the cities and crowds. The resort and rooms are kept so clean and the staff are so nice! They really know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The concierges are so helpful and friendly, and the servers work hard to pamper you. The food was delicious, i really enjoyed their refreshing fruit flavored waters and their amazing coffee. I would definitely come back here!

DenmarkThe road to get there is very bad - but it is a part of the experience when you go to the middle of the jungle!
This was the highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is amazing, it is an oasis in the middle of the jungle. So quiet and peaceful yet very comfortable. Beautiful nature all around. Two pools, one in the sun and one in the shade. Also a free Mayan sauna. We had the villa which was amazingly decorated, water pressure very good. We received welcome drinks when arrived. You will have to eat at the hotels restaurant but it is very very good! Prizes are fair for the good quality and amount of food. Morning yoga so fun! And most importantly - the staff were absolutely fantastic and we felt so welcome and well taken care of. Iguana’s are btw a part of the crew. There is cenotes in the area you can walk to.

United KingdomIt's pretty far into the jungle and along a rugged road, but once you know when you're heading out and heading back, you are good to go.
We went here on our honeymoon, and we can say that this was the highlight. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel important, special and looked after - from decorations to breakfasts to romantic dinners. The laid-back atmosphere, the INCREDIBLE food and drinks (honestly, some of the best sitting our 16 days in Mexico), the peace and quiet, the severity... It was all like nothing we've ever experienced.

United KingdomCareful to not hit your leg on the corner of the bed! There a number of day passes available which sometimes can crowd the pool area and relaxing vibe of the yellow nest.
Incredible setting in the jungle, food was delicious, staff were so helpful and made our stay even better. I highly recommend Yellow Nest

We stayed for 8 days and it was probably the most relaxing days of my life. Lounging by our pool all day and relaxing was so amazing. The staff was super attentive. The food wonderful. My biggest fear with giving this review is that this place is fully booked next time we come to stay. Nothing like it. Absolute jungle bliss. We did the yoga and meditation even though it was new to us and enjoyed marshmallows over a nightly fire. If you are looking to relax look no further. You will need a car. So many beaches are close and at your finger tips. The beach hotels are loud and have music. This was zen all the way through. A very special stay and place. We will be back to recharge again.

United KingdomThe check-in process was not as smooth as we had hoped. The breakdown of costs was unclear, and the conversion added an unexpected extra £20 to the total. They emphasised the importance of a 2000 pesos deposit, but in the end, they forgot to charge us for it. Additionally, our room key was missing, and we didn’t receive one until the second day, around lunchtime, after we chased for it. Initially, we were told there was no key, and we were made to feel like we should just leave the door unlocked. After several follow-ups, we were told the key had been taken to make a copy (which seemed reasonable), but then we were told room service had another one. When I suggested they give us that key in the meantime, since we didn’t need room service, they claimed they didn’t actually have it. A few minutes later, however, a key miraculously appeared, delivered with a hint of frustration. Would have been nice to be given a tour upon arrival, told about breakfast, yoga, sauna options and told where and what everything is but that did not happen. One of the staff kindly did that when asked but as with everything, it felt like we had to ask first. Another frustrating surprise was discovering that the breakfast we had paid for was not the full breakfast option. There was a second breakfast option, which was an additional charge, and it had a noticeable difference in quality and presentation (I attached two pictures fir reference). The included breakfast was served without much attention to detail, while the paid breakfast was beautifully plated. This stark contrast made us feel misled, as we had assumed everything was included. You could see the frustration on people’s faces and honestly the management should look into changing this. On the service front, only two staff members spoke English, which was fine, but other staff would often say “yes” to requests they didn’t fully understand.
Beautiful location, right in the middle of the jungle - quiet and far from the noisy part of Tulum. About 25 minute drive to get to Tulum town or Tulum riviera. Reliable internet connection everywhere, including rooms, restaurant area and by the pool. They offer yoga sessions daily at 8am and sauna & meditation at 2pm. You are however asked for donations/ tip, which overall is not unheard of, but I would have preferred if it wasn’t as suggestive. A place for people to forget the noise of the city and relax completely. A number of cenotes easily accessible and nearby, as long as you have a car. We have not taken them upon the offer because we had a car but the staff offer to take you there or drive you to the main road where you can get a bus to Tulum town every 30 min (not sure if payment/ tip is expected for the service). Relaxing music all over the premise. Not a problem for us, but people might want to know that the road leading to the property is a long 3km dirt road. First 2k is the main dirt road, followed by a second one to the left which is slightly more challenging to navigate. Google maps location of Yellow Nest shows at the end of the 2k but in fact you need to drive 1km further to the left to get there. Well enough sign posted though. Parking lot is well lit and accommodates about 12 cars. Beautiful grounds and the design of the entire place was well thought through.

IrelandThe hotel is located off the beaten path , which adds to its peaceful and secluded charm. The road leading to the property can be a bit bumpy. To make the most of your stay and explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace, I’d highly recommend renting a car. It gives you the flexibility to visit nearby cenotes, Tulum’s beaches, and other attractions with ease.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Yellow Nest Hotel in Tulum, and I can confidently say it was one of the most magical and relaxing experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The hotel is nestled in the heart of nature, offering a perfect balance of luxury and eco-conscious living. The beautifully designed bungalows blend seamlessly with the lush surroundings, providing an intimate and tranquil escape from the busier parts of Tulum. The service was impeccable—every member of the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay special. They were always ready with recommendations and went above and beyond to ensure comfort and relaxation. One of the highlights was the Temazcal experience—will 100% recommend it! The food was another standout, with fresh, delicious, and locally sourced ingredients that made every meal a delight. If you're looking for a peaceful, romantic, and unique getaway in Tulum, Yellow Nest is the perfect place., This boutique eco-hotel offers an experience that’s truly unforgettable. United StatesThe pools were beautiful, but it was almost impossible to enjoy them due to the cold temperature. They were always freezing, and we had to wait for the sun to warm them up a little before we could get in. We never lasted more than 10 minutes in the water. While we understand that the hotel focuses on sustainability, we felt that they could have had a towel station near the pools for guests, or that the service could have been better. Most of the time, the staff was concentrated in one area, and there were long periods where we couldn’t speak to anyone to make a request.
We had an amazing stay at The Yellownest! The staff was absolutely wonderful - Yosi and Jorge were incredibly special and made our experience even better. We absolutely loved the facilities, and the food was definitely the highlight of our stay. We celebrated my birthday with my wife, and they surprised us with a delicious brownie and even sang "Las Mañanitas," which was such a thoughtful touch. Gabriela was a true showstopper with her facelift massage, which both my wife and I ended up doing and absolutely loved. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that we’ll never forget! DenmarkWe did not like it when the day guests arrived.
Some places in Mexico we’ve experienced unfriendly staff. At Yellow’s Nest staff is kind and polite. We enjoyed the beautiful pool areas every day, and I did yoga every morning with very good instructor. One day as a total luxury we had the big pool all to ourselves. Food was very good. Guacomole superb. Would have been nice with coffee options for breakfast - fx cappucino. And freshly pressed juice would also have been nice.

Wonderful staff. Great breakfast and overall menu was very good. I had dinner included and there were plenty of options. Walking distance to two cenotes. Super relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for those interested in a quiet place with options to head to the central distict. Daily yoga option seems mostly for exercise and not meditation.

CanadaNot all units have AC, and the ones that do they only run from 7pm. To 7am.
If you are looking to disconnect, off grid it is recommended. The complex runs on solar power during the day and generator at night. Good wifi connection. The property is nestled over a cenote and all of the pools are filled with cenote water. The Tamazcal ceremony was a unique spiritual experience led by Luis Miguel, who is a medicinal Shaman and also a certified paramedic. He always goes the extra mile to ensure your comfort and safety. The yoga classes are offered daily except Wednesday's is on site and led by a certified Hatha instructor and massage therapist Gabby. Her energy and way of being is calming, her classes are a challenge but worth the early morning wake up. The class is 1 hour and is never the same. The rest of the crew are attentive and always quick to respond. The location is central to many of the cenotes, walking distance. The included breakfast was healthy, plenty and flavourful. The grounds are peaceful and spiritually invigorating. We would definitely recommend staying a minimum of 3 nights to get the full experience.

United StatesThe Yellow Nest is more than a destination; it’s a sanctuary for the soul. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of peace and connection with nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the earth, this space invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. The energy here is serene and grounding — a perfect blend of tranquility and renewal. Every corner feels intentional, offering a space to breathe, to release, and to realign.
